Integrating Conventional ERP System with Cloud Services : From the Perspective of Cloud Service TypeShi, Jia January 2012 (has links)
It is proved that cloud computing has many benefits, and cloud services with flexible licensing model and cost saving features bring opportunities to enterprise's IT operations. Conventional ERP system, an important component of enterprises, is impacted by on-demand cloud services also. Integrating conventional ERP system with cloud services becomes a trend because it brings new processing capabilities without introducing significant changes to existing system. But previous studies about integrating ERP and cloud usually focused on SaaS (Software as a Service). PaaS (Platform as a Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) are not discussed much. People sometimes even confuse cloud service with SaaS. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to present a framework that can describe respective implications of integrating ERP with three types of cloud services: SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. Qualitative methods such as systematic literature review and interviews are adopted to execute the research, so data collected through different sources can complement each other in order to support presenting the framework of integrating conventional ERP system and cloud services. The integration at SaaS level is for achieving immediate business value and productivity enhancement. At PaaS level the objective of integration is to enhance software development life cycle management. And the main integrating intent at IaaS level is to enable scalability and reliability of hardware resources without changing existing IT infrastructure. Furthermore, challenges and opportunities for integrating ERP with different cloud services are studied and motivation is derived from analyzing. Finally the key points are arranged in the presented framework of integration between conventional ERP systems and cloud services.

Cloud Services : ett förslag på hur de kan användas inom e-handel / Cloud Services : a proposal on how they can be used in e-commerceSkoglund, Erik, Auyeung, Ginwah January 2011 (has links)
Program: Kandidatutbildning i informatik

Digital security monitoring of cloud services - SLA Analyser- Availability Monitoring tool for DB Cloud ServicesGupta, Sneha, Anika, Mosammath Nazifa Anjum Islam January 2023 (has links)
Cloud computing is in current demand and widely used for businesses because of its scalability and flexibility. An agreement is signed between cloud providers and customers to guarantee the level of services are available as promised, it is called Service Level Agreement (SLA). To assess if the services are compliant with SLA, availability of the cloud services is important to be monitored. There are some existing monitoring tools provided by the cloud service providers. However, those can be often biased that leads to calls for independent SLA evaluation. This study aims to solve the problem of verifying service availability parameters in terms of uptime/downtime against SLA by proposing a monitoring tool. This paper focuses on reliable assessment of SLA for both customers and service providers. Furthermore, this research discusses the challenges of SLA tracking and consequences of not assessing it. This study also explores that automated monitoring systems minimizes human-effort, time and the potential risk of errors. This approach is even more essential for organizations that use multiple cloud services from different vendors. The proposed monitoring tool can automatically verify the SLA by monitoring the availability of the cloud services. To avoid business losses and maintain reputation for customer trust, it is crucial to validate the SLA. The research problem related to SLA monitoring is challenging in terms of relevant previous studies of this area. Using experiment-based research strategy and quantitative data analysis method, the results have shown that the proposed solution is able to monitor the service availability and validate with SLA. The recommended solution is of significant interest to organizations as they are migrating and using single or multiple cloud services by different vendors as per the business need. The monitoring system serves as a valuable tool for both customers and service providers to solve issues related to availability monitoring of the cloud services and ensure the SLA commitment is met.

Increasing the robustness of a service in a complex information flowJohansson, Albin January 2019 (has links)
In complex information flows where a lot of varied data is transmitted through many companies and divisions, incidents will occur. When Visma Spcs had an incident where invoices sent from Visma to Visma's customers were duplicated and the service meant to receive the transactions did not handle the duplicates properly. They decided that the receiver service was to be upgraded to prevent this incident from happening again, as well as fixing some other issues the service had had. Incidents like this one must be investigated and a solution must be implemented to decrease the likelihood that similar incidents will happen again. In this report, the reader will see examples on how this can be handled and the benefits of tackling technical debt, along with how much more complicated the solutions might get if the service is not allowed to be taken offline.

Previous issue date: 2018-11-06 / The present work will expose a highly relevant topic at current time, the cloud service, an extremely intriguing theme in legal tax discussions, object of several debates by the exponential change of paradigms. It started with the knowledge of these tools to later learn about their legal nature, protection and form of economic exploitation. Entering juridical field, the constitutional principles of taxation dealing with federation, legal certainty and tax legality (tax typicity) were explored, since they are relevant to the debate about tax jurisdiction, legal limits and archetypes of taxes, such as the definition of concepts or types by the original constituent. Thus, the concept of service and merchandise was approached in Federal Constitution of 1988, as well as the position of the doctrine and the Federal Supreme Court, examining the cases of greater repercussion. Finally, it analyzed the conflict of jurisdiction between States and Municipalities for the taxation of Software as a Service (SaaS) / O presente trabalho exporá tema de grande relevância na atualidade, o serviço na nuvem, questão extremamente intrigante nas discussões jurídico-tributárias, objeto de diversos debates pela exponencial mudança de paradigmas.

A Novel Financial Service Model in Private CloudSaha, Ranjan 14 January 2014 (has links)
In this thesis, we propose architecture for a SaaS model in Cloud that would provide service to the financial investors who are not familiar with various mathematical models. Such finance models are used to evaluate financial instruments, for example, to price a derivative that is currently being traded before entering into a contact. An investor may approach CSP to price a particular derivative and specify the time, budget and accuracy constraints. Based on these constraints specified by investors, the service provider will compute the option value using our proposed FSM. To evaluate our proposed model, we compared pricing results with the classical model that provides a closed-form solution for option pricing to meet the accuracy constraints. After establishing the accuracy of our pricing results, we further ensured that the SLA between the FSP and the investors is honoured by meeting the constraints put forth by the investor who uses the Cloud service.

Comparing frontend frameworks and cloud services by using House of QualityWikhög, Magnus January 2018 (has links)
The objective of this study has been to investigate and compare frontend javascript frameworks and cloud services in order to find which ones are most suitable to implement a web based product development application. The application will be based on the "House of Quality" methodology, which is commonly used in product development. It is basically a way to organize customer requirements, identify relevant quantifiable technical parameters and rank them in order to find out which ones are most important for the finished product. By using this very methodology on the application itself, the most important parameters were found to be data update delays and the need for additional services. The selected cloud services were benchmarked according to these parameters. For framework comparison, the methodology was based on existing research regarding what developers actually base their selection of frontend javascript frameworks on, which resulted in the metrics maturity, community size and documentation. SQL queries and benchmarking scripts were constructed in order to gather statistics from online services and run performance benchmarks. The results reveal substantial differences between frameworks as well as in performance among cloud services. A combination of the frontend framework Angular, the backend service Firebase and the authentication service Auth0 were found to be well suited for fulfilling the requirements of the product development application. Finally, potential problems, ethical considerations and areas where more research is required are discussed.

An empirical study of the transformation of a Node.js based web application, Entize Planning, into a cloud service / En empirisk studie av transformationen av en Node.js baserad webbapplikation, Entize Planning, till en molntjänstLagerman, Rikard January 2014 (has links)
The Node.js based web application Entize Planning needs to evolve and become distributable, and the logical transformation is into a SaaS cloud service that can compete in a pressured economic climate concerning resources. The aim is to provide an insight into the challenges in mitigating a web service to the cloud. By utilising the edge concerning low-cost and rapid development associated with Open Source use, a NoSQL supported and Node.js with related technologies, cloud service prototype development process and environment is proposed. Keeping guidelines such as: security, maintenance, complexity, scalability and mobility; emphasised, in order to carefully utilise existing architecture will result in an flexible solution that preserves aforementioned attributes, making the project as a whole a success towards its endusers. Key remarks that surfaced was the distinct separation between Entize Planning - the product - and the delivery mechanism - the cloud service plattform - and also the explicit need to investigate any utilisation of preexisting cloud architecture pertaining limitations in their delivery, before adoptation.
