Die opvolgonderhoud na klasbesoek as middel tot personeelontwikkeling / Roelof Adriaan Oosthuizen

Oosthuizen, Roelof Adriaan January 1996 (has links)
Classroom observation - particularly the post observation conference - is one of the most important aspects of staff development. The headmaster should create the climate in which the teacher has scope for self-development. During and especially after the class observation, it is imperative that the headmaster provides a restful, relaxed atmosphere, particularly for the post observation conference. This conference is of the utmost importance, as it provides feedback to the teacher on how another knowledgeable person experiences his presentation of a lesson. This research initially focused on staff development, what it entails and how it can be utilized by headmasters in schools. A closer look was taken at the post observation conference after a classroom observation, a questionnaire was distributed among the headmasters of various schools and the paper closes with recommendations and definite guidelines to headmasters. It is important for the school to be a pleasant working environment, where mutual respect and trust should exist. In such a climate, it is possible for the headmaster, during the post observation conference, to make recommendations and give advice without causing any hurt-feelings, enabling the teacher to develop professionally. A staff development plan with clear goals and target dates should ultimately be compiled.

In this analyzes was considered the regional scene of the public instruction of that era, with emphasis to the educational reforms, the teaching methods, school materiality and statistics among others. The main source documentation used were the messages sent to the Legislative Assembly by the State Governors enabling the understanding of the insertion of education in speeches and proposals at that time, mainly those from leaderships; works of reformers and thinkers related to the Brazilian Association of Education (BAE) were also used which through the minutes of their National Conferences offered conditions to analyze different connotations adopted by the rural education. Based theoretically on Ginzburg's Indicatory Paradigm (1989), the search was mapping the primary sources like: reports, governmental messages, laws, regulations, resolutions and annals of conferences by the Brazilian Association of Education, collected in the public state archives of Mato Grosso, Cuiabá city (MT), as well as in the Library of Brazilian Association of Education (BAE), hosted in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). Through the documents, it can be affirmed without doubt that the agricultural elementary school had its existence profoundly underlined by economical, social and demographic factors of Mato Grosso at that time. Almost non existent and restricted in the beginning of the Republican Era it was developed gradually and steadily linked to immigration waves and entrances of human contingents proceeded from other regions and states becoming quantitatively more visible in official documents around 1930. So, it can be said that the rural elementary school of Mato Grosso has undergone two phases. The first, until 1930, when it was... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Doutor

The Effectiveness of Parent Group Counseling as Compared to Individual Parent Consultation in Changing Parent Attitude and Child Behavior

Carns, Ann Worrell 05 1900 (has links)
The problem of this study concerns the effects of a parent group counseling procedure and an individual consultation procedure upon (1) the attitude of the parents, (2) the school-related behavior of the children, (3) the academic grades of the children, (4) the peer relations of the children, and (5) self-concept of the children. The results of this investigation indicated no significant differences in procedures for affecting behavior changes on the variables examined. Generally, parent group counseling appeared to generate more pervasive changes affecting multiple behaviors in their children than individual consultation with the parents.

As conferências pan-americanas: identidades, união aduaneira e arbitragem (1889-1928) / The pan-american conferences: identity, customs union and arbitrament (1889 - 1928)

Tereza Maria Spyer Dulci 02 July 2008 (has links)
The current work analyzes the Brazilian manifestations at the Pan-American Conferences, between the years of 1889 and 1928. The main goal is to understand the identitary adresses built by the countries that were represented at the Conferences, as well as to define what were the arguments that explained the proximities and distances between Brazil and United States, and Brazil and the other Latin-American countries. It is also a goal to understand the debates about the customs union, as well as the discussions on the arbitrament issues.

Computer-Supported Cooperative Work and Embodied Social Interaction

Nilsson, Cindy January 2004 (has links)
Research in Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) has identified a gap - the, so called, social-technical gap - between the wide range of human social interactions that CSCW ideally should support and what current technology actually does support. At the same time recent work in cognitive science and CSCW has begun to elucidate the multifarious roles that the body plays in cognitive processes as well as many forms of social interaction, e.g. gestures, pointing, eye-contact and bodily mimicry. The aim of this dissertation has been to analyse to what degree different aspects of embodied social interaction are supported by different types of synchronous, remote location CSCW technology, and to develop recommendations for future development concerning aspects of embodiment. For this purpose, a number of crucial aspects of embodied social interaction have been identified and about twenty CSCW systems - both research prototypes and commercial systems - have been analysed with respects to how well they support these different aspects. The analysis shows that most CSCW systems only support a very limited range of aspects of embodied social interaction.

Early Restoration Councils, 1830–1838: A Tool to Refine Individuals

Davis, Nicholas Andrew 01 December 2017 (has links)
When Joseph Smith founded the Church of Christ in April 1830, he also established the framework for councils, the decision-making mechanism of the early Church. Early councils included a group of men holding the priesthood and often included a congregation. They would gather and make authoritative decisions, including if someone accused of wrongdoing was guilty and should receive formal disciplinary action. As the Church grew, Smith further developed this council system. Elders and high priests frequently formed councils, which gradually gave way to bishop's councils. In 1834, high councils began to establish an appellate court where disgruntled Church members could appeal their case. Later, Smith formed other disciplinary bodies and gave them limited jurisdictional authority. Depending on where they lived, Church members utilized different councils. Kirtland and Missouri principally used a bishop and high council, while other outlying congregations relied primarily on elder and high priest councils. Notwithstanding these organizational differences, early Church councils exhibited several consistent patterns. They encouraged individuals to reform their behavior, provided progressive rights to women and children, and inspired confidence in the system, even though Church leaders sometimes disagreed with individual rulings. Although often overlooked, early Church councils played a pivotal role in protecting and developing Church orthodoxy and orthopraxy.

Metoda rodinných konferencí pohledem jejích aktérů / Family group conferences from the perspective of its actors

Řepová, Magdaléna January 2020 (has links)
The Family Group Conference is a restorative approach to decision making which is used mainly with families in child protection. It is an empowering process aimed at strengthening the family members and children' right to have a say in matters that concern them, an issue stressed by the UN's Convention on the Rights of the Child. FGCs are therefore used to help families in finding their own solutions in difficult situations. This thesis investigates the strategies used by families and relatives within FGC in order to solve complex family situations, and compares the specifics of this approach with more common problem-solving method used in this field. In addition, it examines how the family conference is perceived by its actors. The theoretical part introduces the principles and the main ideas of this approach and describes the process and the roles of its actors. Firstly, FGCs are briefly presented within the international context and then the process of their recent implementation in the Czech Republic is described in more detail. The data are collected through the participant observation of two family conferences. In addition, semi-structured interviews with the involved actors were used to discover the participants' view of the conference, and to compare this particular approach of decision...

Kolín, Adam January 2014 (has links)
The aim of the thesis has been to describe and analyse the issue of eHealth in the context of the information society and to define its role in the Czech Republic and the world. Besides the presentation of the basic characteristics of the concept of eHealth, its position within the WHO and the EU, the work has focused mainly on the situation in the field of eHealth in the Czech Republic in relation to the information society at several levels. This includes specialist companies, national and regional projects, specialist conferences, universities and the role of medical libraries in this area. A SWOT analysis with the support of researches on published documents dealing with this topic and the topic of professional conferences is used to analyse the overall condition. The final summary of this survey provides a brief overview of current trends in the concept of eHealth and the outline of future development in the Czech Republic.
