Achatov, Igor January 2014 (has links)
This thesis analyzes the current open source content management systems market and deals with the design and implementation of online shops using certain systems and their supporting tools. The thesis is divided into four main parts. The first part focuses on the market analysis of the open source CMS for creating online stores. The results, comments and ratings of individual CMS and comparative characteristics are presented for the following selection of the most appropriate and optimal variant according to the criteria given by the author. The second part deals with the analysis of specialized components for creating e-shops using the CMS selected in the first part. The third part presents the design and implementation of the internet shop based on the results of analysis in the first two parts of the thesis. This part is divided into several subsections (phases), which describe and illustrate the main implementation steps in the process of creating an online store. The fourth part focuses on the analysis of commercial marketing tools aimed at developing and maximally supporting sales and extends the standard features and functions of the created e-shop. The first of the main objectives is to analyse open source CMS and based on the criteria given by the author choose the best option for achieving the other objectives of the thesis. Another objective is the creation itself -- using the selected content management system to create an online store that would not only be functional but also adapted to the latest technologies and demands of the current market for electronic commerce. The third objective is to analyse certain marketing tools expanding the standard options of the created internet store, which are oriented to maximize the profits of the e-shop operator. The last objective of the thesis is, based on author's theoretical and practical knowledge, to offer readers the appropriate comments, suggestions and recommendations of individual tools, processes and technologies for the creation of a functional and effective e-shop. The information provided by the thesis can be useful to operators, developers, web programmers and users of online shops. The outcome, methods, illustrations and recommendations of the thesis may be used for educational courses, statistical, analytic and other purposes.

Playable Case Study Content Management System

Cross, Mitchell Stevenson 18 April 2022 (has links)
Educational simulations can help mitigate the natural gap between traditional education styles and the current professional world. Researchers at BYU have developed an educational simulation solution called Playable Case Studies (PCSs). PCSs are simulations that expose the user to real world scenarios and problems within a pre-built environment. With rising demand and use of these educational simulations, there is a need for easy and inexpensive ways to develop these simulations or Playable Case Studies (PCSs). We propose a content management system (CMS) that is tied to a system that utilizes dynamic modules that make up these simulations. We present a basic design and identify core functionality of the system. We include our results from utilizing this system and what future developments can enable the goal of easy and inexpensive development of PCSs. In this study, we identify the design features needed for an easy to use, efficient content management system for educational playable case studies. We began by identifying both pain points in our old system and the features that would address these issues. We then designed and built a new system that included these features. In the testing of this new system, we primarily looked at the ease of building a new PCS with minimal technical knowledge. Although this project was a success overall, there are still points of failure due to the direct manipulation of JSON by content creators (who were not all developers), among other minor issues that need correcting. Overall, we found that our design was effective in providing an efficient platform for creating and maintaining PCSs.

Webbplats i WordPress : Modulär uppbyggnad med ACF plugin

Hjemdahl, Moa January 2021 (has links)
The report is about the project with the aim of building a front-end solution on a website in the WCMS WordPress for the customer Photon Sports through the full-service agency Oh My. The website, which will be built from an already developed design, will showcase the company's product and include a function for interested parties to sign up for a waiting list. The structure must be made so flexible in terms of content that the customer can manage and update the website through the WordPress admin interface after the completed project. The modules and other elements that will build the subpages on the website are created with the WordPress plugin Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), self-written code in the languages HTML and PHP, CSS with Tailwind for styling, JS for functionality, and with WordPress' functions for mail and menus. The project results in a finished solution that is functional, responsive, available in different formats, and that lives up to the design requirements. The content of the website is flexible for the customer to handle and the basic idea of the WCMS comes in handy for both the customer and the developer, even if the usability of the admin interface does not always live up to its full potential. Results of technical tests such as validation of code and the speed of the website show points that do not reach the highest level but are concluded not to be fixed due to possibility or choice. The entire work with the project has shown lessons in method and approach, thoughts on possible further solutions to usability, and reflection on ethical and social parts of the project concerning accessibility and laws.

Olofsson, Marcus January 2018 (has links)

A Functional Framework for Content Management

Broadbent, Robert Emer 16 June 2009 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis proposes a functional framework for content management. This framework provides concepts and vocabulary for analysis and description of content management systems. The framework is derived from an analysis of eight content management systems. It describes forty-five conceptual functions organized into five functional groups. The functionality derived from the analysis of the content management systems is described using the vocabulary provided by the functional framework. Coverage of the concepts in the existing systems is verified. The utility of the framework is validated through the creation of a prototype that implements sufficient functionality to support a set of specific use cases.

Online Course Management System for WIC Nutrition Education and Study of Its Effectiveness in Behavioral and Attitude Changes

Amy, Ryan A. 18 March 2014 (has links) (PDF)
Social media has been used in a variety of contexts to connect people of varying backgrounds and as a method of teaching. This thesis collaborated with the Utah County Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) department to develop an online course management system that facilitated research to evaluate the effectiveness of social media on nutrition behavior and attitude changes among WIC clients. We created a toddler themed Facebook page in conjunction with the online nutrition classes and provided the opportunity for clients to use them. Previous social media research used individuals that had agreed to participate in the social media experiment whereas this research let them choose whether or not to participate. The Facebook intervention proved ineffective. In response, we developed surveys to gather the criteria and strategies from WIC clients and existing WIC themed Facebook pages that could be used for a best-case social media intervention.
