This study examined the role of corporate websites and company Facebook profiles in shaping perceptions of organizational image in the recruitment context.
A primary purpose of this research was to determine whether or not perceptions of organizational image vary across different web-based recruitment methods, specifically examining corporate websites and social networking (SNW) sites, such as company Facebook profiles. A secondary goal was to determine how these perceptions of image are shaped by the objective components of websites and Facebook profiles. Finally, this study sought to determine the most influential components of websites and Facebook profiles, in terms of impacting image, to better understand how organizations can maximize their web-based recruitment efforts.
A total of 102 companies selected from Fortune Magazine’s 2011 top 500 were chosen for the study. Perceptions of organizational personality as well as objective assessments of personality were gathered for each organization in a two phase approach. Results indicate that exposure to corporate websites and company Facebook profiles do influence perceptions of image in different ways. Furthermore, individual components of the websites were identified as key drivers for influencing specific image dimensions, particularly for company Facebook pages. Findings are beneficial for advising practitioners on how to best manage their web-based recruitment sources in order to maximize efficiency. The present study serves to further our understanding of the process through which perceptions of organizational image are influenced by new recruitment sources.

Does web usability affect brand perception? : A comparative study on the "Iliad Italia S.P.A." corporate websiteGullì, Gabriele January 2020 (has links)
The concept of brand nowadays goes beyond the simple logo printed or displayed on a product or service. Branding is an important element for companies, and the communication channels used to deliver brand messages play a fundamental role. The advancement and innovation in web technologies made web communication artefacts crucial channels for companies and a key aspect of these artefacts is their usability. In this project a re-design process has been carried on the “Iliad Italia S.p.A.” corporate website from scratch, introducing innovative approaches such as user-centered design and value-based design. The developed website has been then used to perform an innovative comparative study aiming of verifying whether or not web usability affects brand perception. Adopting two different innovative procedures, brand perception has been measured on test subjects after using the old website and the new one. Analyzing the gathered data, a visible correlation has been found between usability and brand perception, indeed, using a website with higher usability resulted in a higher brand perception and the usage of a website with lower usability resulted in a decrease in brand perception in test subjects. The project introduced innovative research tools and procedures in a real case scenario, illustrating how they can be adopted in the development of web-communication artefact in companies, moving web development and marketing a step closer each other.

A theoretical framework of corporate online communication: a marketing public relations (MPR) perspectiveDu Plessis, Charmaine 30 June 2005 (has links)
This study identifies, tests and modifies factors for effective corporate online communication using a marketing public relations (MPR) perspective. An MPR perspective entails an integrated cross-disciplinary approach with a strong product and/or service focus. The need for the study is underscored by the fact that there is undoubtedly a lack of a theoretical framework in which to practise corporate online communication in the context of selling the organisation's products or services.
In order to test the identified factors for effective corporate online communication, namely credibility, trust and long-term relationships, this study uses Q methodology as a research method and applies Q sorting as a means of data collection. Participants are asked to sort statements about corporate online communication in their preferred order of importance on a large board in the presence of the researcher. This is known as the Q sorting process. The identified factors are tested among 20 communicators and 20 receivers of corporate online communication. The participants' sortings of statements are compared by means of Q factor analysis and then analysed.
The results of the study indicate that only one factor is perceived as an absolute significant factor for effective corporate online communication and that two of the factors necessitate modification. Consequently, based on the results, four factors are identified for effective corporate online communication, using an MPR perspective. These four factors are derived from the perspectives of both the communicators and receivers of corporate online communication and are included in a proposed theoretical framework of corporate online communication using an MPR perspective. / Communication / D.
