Matějková, Kamila January 2014 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with design as part of creative economy and design in the context of corporate innovations. The aim is to analyze the conditions and qualities of cooperations between companies and designers in the Czech Republic, to identify barriers to effective collaboration and to propose steps leading to development of cooperation between businesses and designers. Tool for the analysis is research in the form of a questionnaire survey among Design Competitiveness programme participants, which the agency CzechTrade implemented in 2013 and 2014 to support projects of cooperation between companies and designers. Conditions and qualities of cooperation is explored in the following aspects: establishment of cooperation, objectives and results of the collaboration, progress of the cooperation and obstacles to effective cooperation. Kreativní průmysly v ekonomicko-kulturním prostředí Latinské Ameriky se zaměřením na Venezuelu / Creative Industries in the Economic and Cultural Environment in Latin America with a Focus on Venezuela

Pánková, Jitka January 2012 (has links)
The main goal of this thesis is to evaluate and compare the efficiency of cultural and creative industries in Latin America and Venezuela in particular, hence its growing potential. The introductory part refers to the geographic and socio-economic definition of Venezuela, on which the work is more focused. The following part is a quick overview of the theory of cultural and creative industries, so that this concept could be subsequently adapted to the Latin American region. The next section is devoted to selected examples of countries and projects that significantly transformed the socio-cultural environment of the country. The second half of the thesis focuses on the cultural and creative industries in Venezuela. The various categories of the sector and cultural institutions that are dedicated to them or shielded are specified. The last two chapters of practical part focus on the current situation in the phenomenon of cultural and creative industries and events, which can currently change the whole functioning of the Venezuelan state.

Kreativní průmysly v období ekonomické krize / Creative Industries during the Economic Crisis

Hejdová, Markéta January 2013 (has links)
The subject of this theses is the sector of creative industries a its behaviour at the time of economic crisis. The theses presents teories that study creative industries and its existing conclusions, while putting into contrast different views on the premise that creative industries are the source of economic growth and employment. Creative industries have been so far studied only during the time of prosperity, however, the 2008 economic crisis enables us to study them during recession. The analytic part of this theses is therefore dedicated to studying the economy of Great Britain, and on the basis of three economic indexes describes the behaviour of the creative industries during the crisis and immediately thereafter. The theses concludes that the creative industries indeed experienced growth, however, it also points out the limitations of all existing studies, including this one.

THE DIGITALIZATION OF MUSIC CULTURE: A CASE STUDY EXAMINING THE MUSICIAN/LISTENER RELATIONSHIP WITH DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY

Ray, Mary Elizabeth January 2012 (has links)
This dissertation explores how the rise of widely available digital technology impacts the way music is produced, distributed, promoted, and consumed, with a specific focus on the changing nature of the relationship between artists and audiences new technology has engendered. Through in-depth interviewing, focus group interviewing, and discourse analysis, this case study explores the contemporary artist-audience relationship. This study demonstrates that digital technology impacts the relationship by making it closer and more multidimensional. This is intensified by the fact that everyone is participating; the audience and artist actively engage each other. The omnipresence of music culture combined with the omnipresence of technology is particularly salient. Media consumers are simultaneously engaged with music through technology, and technology through music and this happens on many different levels. Taken as a whole, artist and audience's musical lives are fragmented as they occur in multiple online and offline places, at multiple times, and are continuous. They create, download, stream, listen, share, burn, and build upon content while engaging in multiple personal and social practices. And, in the process, they experience rich meaning making attached to particular life events, people, places, and times. Engagement in a music community is not just listening to music, or consuming music, but participating in a culture. The nature of contemporary music culture is best characterized by community and as such, this dissertation argues we might better think of the audience as accomplices to the artist. / Mass Media and Communication

Knowledge sharing for innovation performance improvement in Micro/SMEs: an insight from the creative sector

Tassabehji, Rana, Mishra, Jyoti L., Dominguez-Pery, C. 2019 June 1930 (has links)
Yes / As the economy becomes more reliant on innovative, knowledge-intensive firms, understanding the interaction between knowledge and improving innovation performance is increasingly important. Despite the majority of UK businesses being micro, small or medium-sized enterprises (micro/SMEs), knowledge management research has tended to focus on large companies, and the findings may not be applicable to micro/SMEs, especially in the creative sector. Moreover, the important role played by knowledge sharing in innovation can be critical to successful performance for smaller players in the creative sector where resources are limited. Our study presents an insight from micro/SMEs operating in a highly knowledge-intensive and innovative creative industry - games/entertainment software development. Using a mixed method approach, we investigate knowledge sharing and its contribution to firm innovation performance improvements. Our findings suggest that micro/SMEs are at the forefront in the creative sector precisely because of their smaller size. Our study reveals evidence of knowledge donation but limited evidence of knowledge collection in the knowledge sharing process in micro/SMEs. We develop a knowledge sharing model for innovation performance improvement in micro/SMEs. This highlights the importance of industry context, individual knowledge and organisational size in the role of knowledge sharing in innovation performance.

L’émergence du coworking dans l’offre d’immobilier d’entreprise en Ile-de-France : un service relationnel coproduit par ses utilisateurs / The rise of coworking in the corporate real estate market in Paris : a networking service coproduced by its users

Blein, Alexandre 21 November 2017 (has links)
This thesis analyses the development of a coworking market in the Greater Paris region in light of the working arrangements in those spaces. The role of proximity in collaboration is observed in a Parisian coworking space. The overlap between commercial and non-commercial exchanges shows that reciprocity contributes to reinforcing ties between coworkers. Coworking spaces can encourage entrepreneurial projects through peer learning and the access to resources in the space. However, this requires the work of coworking managers who are key in organizing collaboration and making it visible. They are thus creating a new form of real estate service that ties physical space to an informal networking service between coworkers. The value in coworking spaces is therefore coproduced by its users. This research also shows that the development of coworking in Greater Paris was first structured by local public policies, and that real estate developers are now scaling up the idea of coworking. Coworking space operators are becoming intermediaries enabling small companies to share their offices in metropolitan regions, thus positioning themselves in the corporate real estate value chain

Économie créative, spécialisation internationale et tourisme / Creative economy, international specialization and tourism

Ali Ahmad, Bilal 22 June 2017 (has links)
The emergence of the new concept of the creative economy, which is now an important part of international trade flows, has benefited countries of all economic levels. The rise of creative industries has strongly influenced production through the formation of competitiveness clusters. This situation is proving to be conducive to the development and diversification of creative goods and services, particularly for small and medium firms. The creative economy can be explained by theories of international specialization in particular from the point of view of services trade and tourism. Thus, the development of these creative industries constitutes a genuine opportunity for international tourism specialization based on a process of cultural innovation and sustained by a transformation of tourism demand. This innovation, based on creativity, creates high added value for creative goods and services as well as absolute advantages, which opens up a new development path for the least developed countries to conquer export markets and reduce poverty.
