Realaus laiko vizualizaciniai metodai demonstracinėse programose / Realtime vizualization methods of demo programs

Liekis, Paulius 30 May 2005 (has links)
This paper introduces a concept of demo arising mainly among people who have common interest in computer graphics and multimedia. The paper shows strong relationship between realtime visualization methods and the subject of this work, so-called demo programs. These programs are the most attractive production produced by community of demo-makers and also the ones most related to conceptual, mathematic and algorithmic fields of computer graphics. Methods used in demo programs varies from simple like „phong“ illumination model, generation of objects from layers, cartoon rendering style or bump-mapping, to complex: realtime ray-tracing, rendering of correct reflections or soft shadows. This work presents six demo programs made by author together with „Nesnausk!“ demo-makers group, also analyses available methods of edge detection and visualization, and describes the method proposed by author, which has distributed calculations between central and video card processors. This method is used as a main visualization effect in „Zenit“ demo program.

A demo modelling tool that facilitates semi-automatic demo-to-BPMN transformations

Gray, Thomas James January 2020 (has links)
Given the increasing emphasis on multi-perspective modelling, the University of Pretoria’s Industrial Engineering Department requires a tool that enables horizontal transformation between DEMO (Design and Engineering Methodology for Organisations) models and other models. This tool needs to be available free-of-charge, up-to-date, and vertically consistent, and should enable horizontal transformation between DEMO models and other models such as the BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) models. Using design science research, this dissertation develops a part of this tool by first identifying and evaluating currently available tools, then discovering how other authors have approached model consistency and transformation, and finally developing a tool in ADOxx that supports the modelling of DEMO’s construction model– more specifically, the organisation construction diagram (OCD) and transaction product table (TPT) and transformations from the OCD to BPMN collaboration diagrams. The new tool, called DMT (Demo Modelling Tool), is demonstrated by modelling two case studies within the tool, and then performing four transformations. It is evaluated by having postgraduate participants model the same case study and rate the tool using pre-established usability criteria. / Dissertation (MEng)--University of Pretoria, 2020. / Industrial and Systems Engineering / MEng / Unrestricted

A Study on Sustainable Development of Marine Industry : An example of ¡§Southern Ocean-Region in Taiwan¡¨

Lin, Yu-Sheng 22 August 2007 (has links)
Abstract The purpose of this research is to investigate the ocean¡¦s sustainable uses and explore new development potentials for the Taiwanese fishing industry. In addition, several possible options are proposed, while the strategies for the operability and development of the Southern Ocean Park are discussed. Furthermore, analyses of the operations at the Little Ryukyu Demo Region, the preliminary demonstration site for the Southern Ocean Park, are performed and assessed. This research begins by analyzing the oceanic industries both in Taiwan and around the world, and then continues to examine ocean maricultures and aqua-farms. Legal regulations pertaining to the fishing industries are also investigated to assess the future and the potential of the Southern Ocean Park. The research draws the following key conclusions: 1. The ocean provides an important basis of development for Taiwan in its expansion of land use. 2. Current development of ocean use and relevant industries around the world are already showing progressive trends in a diversity of industries and fronts. 3. The Southern Ocean Park utilizes netted marine aqua-farms as a main developmental focus. However, opportunities to continue development in various oceanic industries in the future are greatly desired. 4. The netted marine aqua-farms are suitable for the growth of Taiwanese fishing industry, but are faced with the following issues: (1.) The degree of ocean pollution, although less than land-based mari-cultures and fisheries, are still an important and a necessary issue to address. Improvements to farming and feeding technologies will be required to reduce the environmental impact. (2.) The legal use of oceanic territories, especially pertaining to the regulation and security of netted marine aqua-farms, still await numerous bills to be passed. (3.) Faced with competition from other countries, a lack of immediate effort in Taiwan may result in losing the benefits and advantages of the netted marine aqua-farms. 5. The legal proceedings for the Southern Ocean Park have been categorized as part of the legislative group under the Ocean Administration Development Committee of the Executive Yuan. 6. The following presents key strategies in the development of the Southern Ocean Park: (1.) With the success of the Ryukyu Demo Region, the development can then be extended to other oceanic territories. The acquisition of such experience can serve to maximize the success rate of future, large-scale oceanic developments in other regions. (2.) Prime promoters of the Southern Ocean Park should persuade the higher-level government offices to draw attention and focus for the development of sustainable use of the environment and the bigger picture, rather than a singular development meant only for the fishing industries. This is the only way to acquire more resources and support from other offices and committees. (3.) After President Chen declared an increased effort to elevate oceanic industries in the south, the Southern Ocean Park has declined over time to its current status as an unimportant pending policy. Committed individuals must join forces with the legislative and scholar branches to apply continuous pressure on the Fishing Administration Department. This is the only way to successful stimulate proper development in the fishing industry. (4.) The Ryukyu Demo Region and other future regions should collect the local resources, especially those pertaining to tourism, and progress toward joint-industry developments. Consequently, the local communities will generate greater support, and bigger economic growth can then be expected.

GIS-stöd för tunga rundvirkestransporter på väg / GIS-support for roundwood trucks

Pettersson, Fredrik January 2014 (has links)
In order to use a timber truck with 74 ton gross weight in Swedish traffic, a permit from the Swedish transport administration is required. A document shows which roads and bridges the vehicle is allowed to traffic and what rules applies when driving the vehicle. The forest company Sveaskog started a thesis with the aim to create the possibility to determine in real time, which roads and bridges that are part of the transport permit. This should be done by developing a map support for the truck's on-board computer with connection to GPS to visualise the permit of the specified road sections and bridges. The result of the thesis is a map support using services provided by ArcGIS Online to present geographic information to the user. The background map consist of a base map from ArcGIS Online. On top of the background map is a GIS layer with roads and another layer with bridges. Information about whether the vehicle currently is travelling on a road included in the permit or not, as well as information about rules that applies to bridges on the road section, is presented to the driver in real time. This information is updated at each update of the GPS position.

Självproduktion, perspektiv och demos

Källén, William January 2023 (has links)
Is temporary loss of perspective an inevitable part of any artistic process? In this project, I explore a strategy to deal with such problems in music production, namely the demo. With the advance of digital audio workstations and the internet, music production has become more accessible than ever before. The term bedroom producer has gone from being slightly derogatory to nowadays aptly describe many of our most influential and popular contemporary artists and producers. Historically, the music production process has been defined by a clear division of labor: artist/songwriter, producer and engineers that record, mix and master. Today, however, artists and producers have the possibility to control most, if not all, of these stages of production on a single computer. The advantages are many to this development, as it increases an individual’s ability to have detailed control of their output. There is, however, a risk that such solitary work becomes unnecessarily frustrating as a consequence of the insistence on doing everything oneself. Put simply, one might overwork and lose perspective on one’s art because so much uninterrupted time is spent with the project at hand. Being of this generation of producers myself, I have lately come to wonder whether my process - writing, producing and mixing my own songs - could become less ridden with temporary loss of perspective by applying a more clear division in my own labor. More precisely, I focus on the earliest part of the production process, the demo. Instead of laboring over longer periods of time with the entire production chain - from inception to final mix - I want to explore a different workflow, which allows me to better sustain a constructive perspective on my songs and productions. In this project, I dedicate time specifically to produce simple demos, the sole purpose of which is to document an idea and guide the potential final production at a later stage. I also interview others who produce their own songs in order to deepen my analysis and strengthen the relevance of my project.

Metallic dust transport simulations for ITER and DEMO / Metalliska dammtransportsimuleringar för ITER och DEMO

Paschalidis, Konstantinos January 2021 (has links)
Beryllium and tungsten dust transport is simulated for ITER and DEMO using the dust transport code MIGRAINe. By combining many single-particle simulations a statistical analysis is performed. From that, the evolution of the dust inventories in the reactors is studied. Additionally, predictions are made for the locations at which dust evaporates. Finally, simplified analytical models with a few parameters for fast estimations of the dust inventory evolution are proposed. In the future, these could be integrated into more global models that also take into account dust generation.

Grafické demo v OpenGL řízené hudbou / Graphics Demo in OpenGL Controlled by Music

Koza, Tomáš Unknown Date (has links)
The goal of this thesis was to create graphical demo in OpenGL, which would appropriately react on music, which is inseparable part of graphical demos. Work consists of two main parts, first is programming of real-time graphical engine, second is creating graphical demo which would run on graphical engine created in first part. First part focues on programming of OpenGL based application, which would render scene in real-time using techniques from computer graphics. Second part focuses mainly on graphical activity, which includes 3D modelling, texturing, creating animation and connection to music (reaction of environment and animations to changes in music)
