No. of bitstreams: 1 GUSTAVO CORTEZ FERNANDEZ.pdf: 951448 bytes, checksum: a6a335f91e547aa4b62e09a0e4c86332 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2018-02-05 / The theme developed in this bibliographical research is the water as a symbol of the passage from death to life. The symbol is what gives the man try to express his experience with the sacred and for this analysis is used the contributions of Otto, Eliade, Girard, Bourdieu and Berger. Religious experience is a manner of meaning to human life, and religion does so through the effects of consecration and legitimation, concepts present in Bourdieu and Berger. Water in this study is presented through biblical texts that represent foundational events for the constitution of the faith of the people of Israel and the foundations of Christianity. From the Old Testament, the priestly text of Exodus 14 (and its intertexts in the Old Testament) dealing with the exodus, the passage of the Red Sea, is analyzed. In the New Testament, we refer to Paul's text to the Romans (6: 1-11), prioritizing the death and resurrection of Jesus, whose mystical participation the Christian already lives from baptism. The theme of water as the passage from death to life opens the possibility for the reading of the postmodern context of the religious scene, in which humanity, marked by Bauman's liquidity, is not necessarily less religious, but it can be needeed of symbols that account to re-signify instability, insecurity, fluid relationships, a less institutionalized spiritualization, the decline of metaphysics and the possibility of more solidary relationships, marked by respect for human life.

The mystery of death-life in the Maronite Catholic Church

Zeid, Nadim Abou 01 January 2002 (has links)
This study reflects the belief systems of a nation living their lives as though in exile. It is also an 'echo' of their spiritual journey, stretching from the dawn of humanity until the time of Jesus Christ. It is the testimony of the people who lived in Phoenicia, Antioch, and the holy mountains and valleys of Lebanon. From the time of early Christianity they structured their beliefs according to the general admonition and teaching of the Scripture, and looked forward to the imminent 'return' of Christ. They lived in an atmosphere of preparation for the ready welcome of the 'heavenly Bridegroom'. The background to and the reasoning supporting this study and exposition, is that of understanding the history, spirituality, and the ritual deriving from the beliefs and thought systems of the Christians of the Maronite Catholic Church, and their understanding of the hereafter. It is an attempt to relate the many factors which comprise the 'life' and ritual, the biblical foundation, and the theological and eschatological views of the Maronite Church and its members. / Christin Spirituality, Church History and Missiology / M. A honra, a glória e a morte na Ilíada e na Odisséia / The honor, the glory and the death in the Iliad and Odyssey

Pacheco, Antonio de Pádua 11 May 2009 (has links)
It verifies and analyzes the enchainment ideological used for Homer to order the death of Greek heroes principal of the epic cycle; the warrior ideal of the death beauty and the heroic ideal of the imperishable glory; the fate of the common man and the fate of the hero; the will of Zeus and the plain of Zeus; the death of heroes; the funeral games, registered in the Iliad and Odyssey. The data were obtained through: systematical reading of texts produced by ancients authors and by contemporarys authors, verifying the behavior of the Greeks of the Homeric period in the face of death. It points to as main results: there is a enchainment ideological what tie the deaths of the Homeric heroes principal, weaved for the poet and based in the epic cycle; there is a plain of Zeus to eliminate the heroes principal because the death these heroes cause suffering in the gods; the believe in the afterlife and the funerals processes adopted to the Greeks of Homeric period still were in formation; the Greek ancients not keep one systematic belief in one idea of resurrection of the soul or in one idea of life after-death. It finishes that there is a ideological directrix what order the epic plot in the Homeric poems; this ordering carry the heroes to accomplish their fates, following a enchainment what take into account the degree of the honor and warrior excellence; the funerals rites of the Greeks of Homeric period were consolidating and Homer collaborate in this process of the consolidation, what already was materialized in the Classic period.

Nuances and metaphors from knowing that the subject of do not want to know - shows a marginal cognitive construction in scientific education from biologist - death. It considered as obvious that death is a theme that covers both the scientific education from biologist and the division of the subject, and concerns the splitting of the double life-death and the principles of inclusion and exclusion of the subject. Part of sensitive question: What is the epistemological weave who supports biologist's speech about death? It is constituted an object of study of the biologist s speech on death. It is advocated the thesis that: Death is an epistemological obstacle announcing for something always aims to escape from the perspective of knowledge, especially of scientific knowledge because, since it is understood as cognitive learning about the disruption of biological phenomenon life which is involved on weave of imaginary and symbolic constructions about the finiteness of life; it has constituted a metaphorical knowing - encouraged by the noisy silence - which does not allow to know in full, mobilizing hence subject in searching for transitional truths that reduce the ontological being-mortal anguish centered in subjective dimension involved in the act of knowing. From this movement of search that the object mental life after death wins a symbolic value that requires a real-looking multi-referential for the study of biology - life - and its implications: the finiteness of life, especially by moving the omnipotence of scientific objectivity expressed by signs and symbols that seek say the completeness of scientific knowledge-, signaling thus the existence of the dynamics of incompleteness implicit in subjectivity that supports knowledge relating to the double, life and death, and to the temporality of the existence of Homo sapiens sapiens, with the axis guiding the desire of the subject, do not want to know about death, implicit in the mechanisms objective-subjective founded by non-said of death is the epistemology of the existence of objective-subjective subject, whose core is the negation of death. The theoretical methodological knowing web is anchored in the multi-reference which favors a transit by theoretical current, as the Psychoanalysis, bachelardian philosophy, the epistemology of complexity, the Thanatology, the Social Psychology, and Etnocenology, and Understanding Interview. The unveiling of the study object from the analysis of oral speech of eleven biologists who serve in high school, from three main guiding: Death in the history of life,Death in biologist s academic education and, Conceptions about concepts / Este estudo - O discurso formativo do bi?logo sobre a morte.
