Arteche, Adriane Xavier January 2006 (has links)
The Draw-a-Person Test (DAP) is one of the psychological techniques most frequently applied by psychologists. Besides this, it’s one of the most discussed instruments as well. The literature review emphasizes the diversity of DAP evaluations’ systems and the lack of empirical evidences in all of them. Considering this situation, the present research objective is to develop and to validate a DAP scale for emotional symptoms in children. There were conducted two studies. The first one had as data base 606 drawings from children aged between six and twelve years old, divided in two groups: children from six to eight years old and children from nine to twelve years old. Half of the drawings were from children who received psychological assistance and half of the drawings were from children who did not take part in any psychological treatment. The results indicated that the items that differentiated the groups were different by the sex and by the age of the children. The items that characterized each group and each age were analyzed in the second study. The second study sample was composed by 198 children (100 in psychological treatment and 98 non clinical children). The final scale version was composed by a variable number of items (from 10 to 13) accordant to the children’ sex and age. The minimum score that could be an indicative of psychological problems varied between two and four items, and the internal consistency varied between rK=0,24 e rk=0,69. Except for the boys aged from 9-12, the correlations between the DAP total score and the main symptoms referred by the children confirmed the scales validity as an instrument to predict emotional problems.

Doctrine et pratique de la restauration française à l’épreuve de la Charte de Venise : architectures contemporaines dans les monuments historiques, projets et enjeux / Doctrine and practice of French restoration to the test of the Venice Charter : contemporary architecture in historic monuments, projects and issues

Jacquin, Laure 14 December 2016 (has links)
It is based on the premise that a turning point is at work in the practices, rules and the training of architects in relation to heritage issues. Ownership, claimed, a contemporary language supported by the principles of the Charter of Venice, by Chief Architects of Historical Monuments (ACMH) postwar shows a willingness to link creation and restoration and to bring it in the architectural sphere. The controversy aroused by certain actions show interest in the end of this caesura practices. This reflection is based on the study of contemporary projects in historic monuments for which architects claim the application of the principles of the Venice Charter. This theoretical text conflicts with the French doctrine of stylistic restoration in force and its dissemination through the practice has been controversial. The first studied intervention, restoration of the old abbey of Toussaint Pierre Prunet, which represents a first claim of the principles of the Charter and did not cause controversy. The second case study is the restoration of Falaise Castle Bruno Decaris with this project first broke a polemic, followed by reforms that changed the course of Historical Monuments. The third case examined is the restoration of Fréjus arenas Francesco Flavigny, it illustrates a next step in the evolution of the situation in this area. The study develops three complementary components: an institutional history of monuments Historic service after 1960, the contributions of the Venice Charter text in the French context and the movement of interest after the 1980. The second part focuses on architectural analysis of interventions in both the treatment of existing material and in the treatment of architectural additions to contemporary character. Finally, the third component focuses on the study of media coverage, reception and controversy surrounding these interventions. The various media who took part in the distribution and receipt of interventions inform the porosities at work between artists and curators. This work tries to provide answers to questions that drive today's practice and architectural education on training, status, skills, specialized or not in the restoration architects and their methods of intervention

Segabinazi, Joice Dickel January 2010 (has links)
This study investigated the evidence of validity of global assessments of the Draw-a-person test (DAP) to identify children’s emotional problems. The aspects of construct validity were considered from different sources of evidence for measures of artistic quality, normality, and sexual differentiation. Operational definitions and illustrative figures, separated by sex and age groups of children who produced the draw were developed for each of the scales, according to the evaluation of three judges with extensive experience with the test. In addition to the DAP, the Colored Progressive Matrices of Raven, the Child Behavior Checklist, the School Problem’s Identification Scale, the Child Scale of DAP Emotional Indicators, and a Sociodemographic Questionnaire were used. The sample comprised 198 children aged 6 to 12 years (100 in psychological treatment and 98 non-clinical children). Four judges evaluated the DAPs using the three global scales. Analyses included Pearson partial correlations, analysis of covariance and multivariate analysis of covariance. The variable intelligence was controlled in each test. Good levels of reliability were observed across raters and significant group differences were observed in the three scales. The findings provided evidence of validity for the DAP as a screening tool, showing that it was able to differentiate clinical groups of children from those with normal development. Finally, we suggest that more studies should be carried out so that the DAP could be considered a useful tool in the clinical context of Psychological Assessment.

Filhos autistas e seus pais: um estudo compreensivo / Autistic children and their parents: a comprehensive study

Maria Izilda Soares Martão 16 December 2002 (has links)
This work was the investigation of possible implications between a couple dynamics and the relationship with their autistic child and the difficulties the parents have to establish a partnership with the therapist, thus helping the therapeutic process and the development of their child. Comprehensive Diagnosis were done (Trinca, 1983), with the aim of getting to know the psycodynamic aspects of the couples and their relationship with their autistic child. The theoretical base of the study is the psychoanalysis and the psycodynamic theories together with the clinical experience. Two methods were used: semi-directed interview and the procedure of Family Drawing with Stories (Trinca, 1978). The research was done in a Public Institution, specialized in treating autistic children, located in the city of São Paulo. There was also the voluntary participation of five couples, parents of autistic children, which meant na enormous contribution to the study. The results obtained after the data gathering were: - the parents lived emotional conflicts, environmental instabilities, and affective humiliation in their families of origin. - the emotional conflicts originated handicapped object relations, they were fragile and disturbed. - the emocional difficulties lived were obstacles to the emotional development of these parents and made impossible any kind of interaction with the autistic child. - some reactions of the autistic children, used as a way of trying to establish contact with their parents are related to the focus of the conflict of the parents dynamics. - the parents’emotional difficulties reflect in the development of the autistic child, due to the fact that the parents do not provide a ‘live’ and ‘human’ contact. We concluded that the parents we have studies present intense suffering demonstrating important emotional difficulties, needing to be treated as their autistic children do.

An encounter with parents of children with autistic characteristics: understanding the emocional experience

Maria Izilda Soares Martão 23 April 2009 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to know better the psychological aspects of parents of children with autistic characteristics; it is the result of the clinical experience of the author in treating children and parents with these characteristics. These themes are discussed in the introduction of the study as well as the theoretical basis for the development of the study. Following a clinical methodology, 10 case studies were carried out, of both parents who were married and whose children had autistic characteristics. The subjects were invited to participate and underwent the procedures: clinical interviews, Story-Drawing - for each parent individually and Family Observation. Data was also retrieved from the child or teenager\'s file at his or her treating institution. The results, in most of the cases, show emotional difficulties prior to the marriage and birth of the child, which portrayed: imprisonment, intolerance to frustration, la ck of vitalization, feeling of under value, auto-invalidation, detachment, emotion evasion, agitation, depression and other emotional aspects which lead them to a holt and dissatisfaction in their lives. These seem to spring from individual difficulties, marital difficulties to which the difficulties generated by the child condition were added. On the other hand, in nine cases, desires for change and hope movements were found. As a conclusion, it is clear the need of the parents who participated in this study to have psychological treatment according to their individual characteristics. A broader understanding of the psychological aspects of the parents can serve as a basis for preventive and interventional programs, thus strengthening their self-esteem, their hope and the desire for change. New research on the theme is also suggested.

Compreendendo a fobia em odontopediatria por meio de intervenções com o Procedimento de Desenhos-Estórias / Comprehending the phobia in pediatric dentistry by means of interventions with Drawing-and-Story Procedure

Fatima Cristina Monteiro de Oliveira 12 September 2008 (has links)
This is a qualitative research, viewing to apply, evaluate results and demonstrate the need of employing the Drawing-and-Story Procedure. while understanding and elaborating emotional contents of children and adolescents who fear pediatric-dentistry treatment. This study also aims to examine the nodal points of anguish, conflicts, fantasies and the mechanisms of defense that emerge from the crisis situation. The methodology consisted in the use of clinical interviews with mothers and children, in the clinical observation on the child and in undertaking of procedure. A research, devided in 3-12 sections, was made with fifteen children, aged 8-14 in private clinic. Psychoanalysis was used as a system of approach and interpretation. As a modification, related to the original consideration, a free-associated auxiliary therapeutic verbalization has been used, as well as a deepening in the emerging material and understanding of the emotional contents. The results were as follows: a. The need of pediatric dentistry attendance will intensively exacerbate fantasies, conflicts and selfdefense primitive mechanisms. b. The instrument facilitates the contact and deepening of nodal points in conflicts and unconcious anguish. c. The process assists in knowing all conflicts by mobilizing a trend for integrating them. The results has led to conclude that the Drawing-and-Story Procedure used in this clinical situation, has shown as being highly suitable to the whole aprehension of emotional contents in children and adolescents in this crisis situation. This study has taken the initial hypothesis which a crisis situation that precedes the pediatric dentristy attendance in case study patients has a wide range of distresses and intense fantasies that should be notified and elaborated within a psychotherapeutical process.

Algorithm Oriented to the Detection of the Level of Blood Filling in Venipuncture Tubes Based on Digital Image Processing

Castillo, Jorge, Apfata, Nelson, Kemper, Guillermo 01 January 2021 (has links)
This article proposes an algorithm oriented to the detection of the level of blood filling in patients, with detection capacity in millimeters. The objective of the software is to detect the amount of blood stored into the venipuncture tube and avoid coagulation problems due to excess fluid. It also aims to avoid blood levels below that required, depending on the type of analysis to be performed. The algorithm acquires images from a camera positioned in a rectangular structure located within an enclosure, which has its own internal lighting to ensure adequate segmentation of the pixels of the region of interest. The algorithm consists of an image improvement stage based on gamma correction, followed by a segmentation stage of the area of pixels of interest, which is based on thresholding by HSI model, in addition to filtering to accentuate the contrast between the level of filling and staining, and as a penultimate stage, the location of the filling level due to changes in the vertical tonality of the image. Finally, the level of blood contained in the tube is obtained from the detection of the number of pixels that make up the vertical dimension of the tube filling. This number of pixels is then converted to physical dimensions expressed in millimeters. The validation results show an average percentage error of 0.96% by the proposed algorithm. / Revisión por pares

Assessing emotional indicators of the pre-adolescent child's life world functioning after divorce

Venter, Amande 02 1900 (has links)
Divorce is part of every society, it is a world-wide phenomena. Divorce touches the lives of many people by breaking up families, causing personal individual trauma and affecting our children – the next generation. Consequences of this phenomenon are important, as what we do today will affect negatively or positively, the youth of tomorrow. Taken this fact into consideration one would think it logical to minimise the impact of this phenomenon on all those involved. Firstly, this study will attempt to identify the most prominent emotional indicators of a child’s drawing in order to focus therapy in those areas in an attempt to minimise or lessen the negative impact the child experiences. Secondly, the intervention strategies/guidelines researched, will be made available to parents, professionals and lay helpers alike in order to understand, support and positively facilitate the healing process within the child who is experiencing a family divorce. / Educational Studies / M.
