Statická a dynamická analýzy ocelové konstrukce / Static and dynamic analysis of steel structureUherek, Jan January 2020 (has links)
The thesis deals with a description and a static and dynamic analysis for an existing construction of lookout tower. The steel watchtower is located in Město Albrechtice and is made up of two lattice towers connected by a bridge. Main point was to create calculation models for the purpose of dynamic and static analysis, in the software SCIA Engineer 19.1, which is based on the principle of finite element method. Attention was paid to load created by winds according to Eurocode 1 and Eurocode 3, glaze and rime ice load and dynamic coefficient calculation. The thesis also includes an assesment of selected parts of the construction according to Eurocodes.

An Investigation of the Impact Gender-Specific Course Grouping Has on Female Middle-School Students' Concept of and Interests Toward Technology and EngineeringWalsh, Thomas Broderick 06 August 2021 (has links)
Attempts to improve retention, interest, and enrollment of females in Technology & Engineering Education courses have included a variety of approaches including female-only classes. However, the implications of such courses have not been thoroughly investigated. Therefore, an investigation of female-only classes was undertaken; the findings revealed that the overall enrollment of females went up in the course and in subsequent classes, these students maintained their interests and attitudes towards Technology and Engineering, their perceptions of an engineer's gender changed from that of mostly male to mostly female, and their concepts of what an engineer does changed from mostly building or fixing things to that of mostly someone who designs. This study used two instruments: the Technology Engineering Attitude Survey (TEAS) and the Draw an Engineer Test (DAET). The population of the study was 7th grade middle school students. They were placed into two groups: the control being the mixed male female engineering and technology classes, and the treatment being the all-female students enrolled in the same engineering technology course.

Statické a dynamické posouzení konstrukce vyhlídkové věže / Static and dynamic assessment of an outlook tower constructionValíček, Jan January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with static and dynamic analysis of an lookout tower construction. For dynamic analysis a computational model in ANSYS software is created. Static analysis is performed by Scia Engineer software. Both of this software use finite element method. It is also focused on wind load determination by Eurocode 1, structural factor calculation, modal analysis and vortex shedding. Verification of selected parts according to Eurocodes is included.

Návrh betonové konstrukce pozemní stavby / Design of the building concrete structureKurpel, Juraj January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to design a load-bearing structure for the ultimate and serviceability limit state of a civil building. The structure is designed as a cast-in-place concrete structure, composed of columns and floor slabs. The building has total of 5 floors, two are under-ground and three above-ground. The thesis contents of a structural design and design options, structural design report for load-bearing elements, processing of the drawings, details, visualizations. Internal forces calculation is carried out in SCIA Engineer and validated by the moment accumulation method for slabs. The columns are assessed by interaction diagrams, one is verified by hand calculation. The resulting internal forces are taken from the computational programme. Foundations are not subject for solution.

ADDRESSING CORPORATE KNOWLEDGE LOSS IN A UNIVERSITY UTILITY PLANTKelly A McFall (9622742) 16 December 2020 (has links)

This
research was a pilot study in a larger project that focused on how to retrieve
knowledge from retiring long-term employees of a small university utility
plant, incorporate that material into their existing training program, and
during the process reduce the training time for current and future employees.
Wade utility plant faced the retirement of eight employees with nearly 200
years of corporate knowledge within three years, but their current training
program required seven to nine years to complete. The study utilized
interviews, first-hand observation and partnership with current employees to
explore how best to obtain the corporate knowledge that would be lost when the
proletarian workers retired. The study revealed that the training program
needed to be updated, and communication, trust and training evaluation
continuity needed to be addressed. Due to these issues, trust was built through
transparency by the researcher, and suggestions were made to management for
moving forward. This study adds to the body of knowledge by utilizing knowledge
capture techniques in a utility plant, highlighting effective knowledge capture
techniques for proletarian workers, the importance of corporate planning for
the effect of group retirements, and how incorporating proletarian workers into
training creation can make a positive impact on company relationships.

Bytový dům v proluce / Apartment building in the gap siteDoupovec, Vojtěch January 2022 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on design of a monolithic reinforced concrete structure of an apartment building situated in a gap site. The foundation is designed on a foundation slab supported by piles, which together with the walls in the basement are made as a waterproofness concrete structure. It is a two-way wall construction system, made in a combination of masonry and reinforced concrete. The structure was assessed for the ultimate limit state and the serviceability limit state. Due to the requirement for waterproofness, the reinforcement was designed for non-force effects at an early stage. The work includes drawings of shapes and reinforcement.
