Previous issue date: 2017-03-30 / Coordena??o de Aperfei?oamento de Pessoal de N?vel Superior - CAPES / Nowadays, reflecting on education and learning requires recognizing that information and
communication technologies are changing in different spheres of society. It places itself as a
need to revise educational projects, redefining the training of subjects to respond to
contemporary issues. Teachers and managers are today tense between the certainty that the
traditional model of teaching needs to be overcome and the search for proposals for the
formation of the subject in society. What learning is essential to live and act positively in
contemporary society? What personal dimensions need to be developed? What teaching
methodologies would account for the desired training? Thus the objective of the thesis is to
understand the repercussions of the experiences in scientific activities in the integral
formation of students of technical education in Chemistry. This thesis is justified to
understand the meanings of the research in the development of students of a technical course
in chemistry of a high school in a state public institution, scientific education as competences.
The research projects were produced based on the precepts of educating by research, with
theoretical references of Pedro Demo (2009), and Galiazzi (2011). The methodology
consisted of two phases. The first part was a documentary study aimed at evaluating the
quality of research projects between 2009 and 2013. The second phase consisted of a
qualitative case study, using three focus groups totaling 15 subjects and nine Descriptive
memorials. In this phase we used the Discursive Textual Analysis for analysis, based on
Moraes and Galiazzi (2014), in order to understand the meanings of the research that
influence future activities of the students. For data collection, three a priori questions were
defined in order to facilitate the understanding of meanings, such as the procedures with the
research that contributed most to the students' education, the repercussions of the activities
with research in the professional and personal formation. This aim was to answer what were
the repercussions of the experiences in scientific activities in the integral formation of the
students of professional education of medium technical level in Chemistry? The results of
phase 1 are presented as an activity that contributes to learning and scientific education. The
results of phase 2 indicate that the process of scientific education with research changes the
role of subjects by placing the student at the center of the activity to construct and reconstruct
their arguments. The work with the research implies reading, writing and interpretation in
which the focus is not the result, but rather the process, in which the subjects with intrinsic
motivation present new arguments in a never completed process. The results indicate that the
students become more critical, performing a reconstructive questioning. It is concluded that
experiences in scientific activities with student-centered research projects promote learning by
making subjects more critical and responsible, both as technicians and as undergraduates,
making possible positive repercussions of becoming critical citizens with autonomy of writing
and argumentation and interacting and looking the world with the eyes of science.
A primeira
tr?s grupos focais totalizando 15 sujeitos e nove memoriais descritivos.
aprendizagem e a educa??o cient?fica.

Knowledge is understanding. According to the philosopher Gaston Bachelard our immediate contact with the reality is only worth as confusing and provisional data. This phenomenological contact requires inventory and classification. For this reason our first reading on any phenomenon is limited to a basic levels of reality. Elements such as dynamics, functioning or detailed characteristics of what is observed can only be accessed at higher levels of reality, explains the physicist Werner Heisenberg. The ideas woven by these two great intellectuals oxygenates the notion that a well-made thinking does not require only observation and description of the nature, but assigns value and meaning to the knowledge. Based on these ideas and on the cognitive horizon brought by the complexity sciences, this research aims to nurture a reflection on our understanding of the world built from a rational perspective of experience, as an organic sequence of research. This arguments, over the study, describes how the experience is able to oxygenate a well-made thinking, as the concept created by Edgar Morin and expanded by Concei??o Almeida. I argue that the experience as a path of investigative research allows one to ventures in the shadows of the unknown to access upper layers of reality. The experience is, therefore, an organic strategy for a well-made thinking - A nutritious mud that oxygenates, regulates, repairs and configures the quality of understanding. As a thread to discuss this ideas I've used my professional journey over a year and a half as a Natural Sciences' teacher on the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, where I could see how experiences helped on breaking a simplified understanding of the world. I chose to work with the research problems developed by 398 students over these three semesters. The problems were essential to the questioning of the phenomena that once seemed obvious or uninteresting, bringing out operational reasons and dynamics of the observed structures. Experience, in this sense, is the founder of dynamic thinking, as the need to deconstruct the phenomena's first impressions, assigning value and meaning to gestated knowledge.

A abordagem CTS e o ensino investigativo
cient?fico.
pra n?o dizer, err?nea acerca do letramento cient?fico. Percebeu-se, que os docentes n?o
compreendem, totalmente, o sentido desta terminologia, embora, apontem conhecer elementos
intr?nsecos ? mesma.
The formation for citizenship and a responsible decision-making in a social environment is
not important goals for the educational process. The CTS approach and an investigative
teaching are essential for the development of skills and values needed to achieve such noble
goals to stand out in a scientific literacy. From the hypotheses: (i) teachers have shown
difficulties in elaborating teaching proposals in this CTS approach for not understanding the
theoretical assumptions, making difficult to incorporate the approach in pedagogical practice;
(ii) The training model course offered to the teachers does not promote the appropriation and
autonomy needed for the implementation of the CTS approach in a curricular planning; and
(iii) The associated use of the CTS approach is efficient to promote the literacy in scientific
text to students. The main goal was to evaluate how a group of Biology teachers in Natal-RN
understands and applies the CTS approach in favor of the scientific literacy with high school
students. In addition, propose as educational product, an investigative sequence with a CTS
approach focused to ecology teaching in order to ascertain the potential of CTS teaching and
research for the scientific literacy and to contribute with teachers training to potentialize this
practice. The data were created from instruments such as: exploratory questionnaire, interview
and sequence of research teaching in the CTS perspective on ecology contents. The last one
was developed and applied to students in the first year of high school. There are indications,
in the analysis of the data, that many teachers present a limited, if not, misleading, view of
scientific literacy. It was noticed, that the teachers do not fully understand the meaning of this
terminology, although, they point out to know elements intrinsic to it. Complementing the
answer, it was evidenced that the CTS approach is understood by most teachers, in a narrow
view of the scientific knowledge applicability and in the interaction between C-T-S. In
addition, it was evidenced that the courses of continuous training offered have little to
contribute to overcome the ideas listed before, which make them obstacles that difficult the
effective implementation of the CTS approach and the development of students' scientific
literacy. The data obtained from the application of the teaching sequence revealed an
important contribution of the CTS approach in the development of skills and essential abilities
for scientific literacy. It was noticed in the students' answers the acquisition of scientific terms
for social use, attitudes that involve responsible decision-making related to environmental
problems and the development of critical thinking by students.

Previous issue date: 2010-03-18 / The development of this work arises from the research of sociological and philosophical characters contemplating also other approaches which aims to answer the followingquestions: what is the responsibility of science teaching for the image one has about science? ; which scientific education should be designed for nowadays? . After considering the assumptions brought along by rationalism and the criticisms to the illuminist model proposed by sociology and philosophy of science, as well by the biology of the knowing process, going through discussions concerning post-modernity issues, one is given to understand that the image of science has become the central point of discussion in the last hundred years, including what concerns the area of science teaching, and that practically none of those discussions really reached natural science classes indeed. We adopt the term postontological to characterize the recent proposals on philosophy and sociology, because we evaluate that this term allows a better identification of the scientific realism crisis, which supports the existence of an ontological domain which science, and only science, is able to
understand. One notices that the general public is not aware of those discussions, mainly if they are science teachers and students. So we believe that discussing the logic in which
science is structured, the new understandings concerning the scientific undertaking, especially those of an externalist character, and the relationship between science and society, all of this contributes to build up a science teaching which contemplates a reflective contribution, besides allowing the inclusion of the study of other epistemologies in the educational practice. We argue that a revisionist posture seems to be the most appropriate for the contemporary
scientific education, contemplating, besides the teaching of the usual science contents, discussions on the issues involving that knowledge, as well as respecting epistemologies
alternative to the modern Western scientific one, in order one can work on the perception of local knowledge generated from other epistemological bases. We describe here practical
activities we did involving teachers (short-term courses) and high-school students in an inland school in the Rio Grande do Norte state, in Brazil, as a way to demonstrate the possibility of interventions which can take those conceptions, discussions and changes to the classroom / O desenrolar deste trabalho surge da pesquisa de car?ter sociol?gico e filos?fico contemplando tamb?m outros enfoques que visa responder as seguintes indaga??es: Qual a responsabilidade do ensino de ci?ncias para a imagem que se tem de ci?ncia?
