Translation of educational professional language from english into Lithuanian / Edukacinės profesinės kalbos vertimas iš anglų kalbos į lietuvių kalbą

Žmėjauskienė, Ivanna 26 September 2008 (has links)
Nowadays when Lithuania is a member of the European Union the English language penetrates into all spheres of our life and serves as a precondition for the upsurge of translation from/into English and Lithuanian. Translation in the realm of different professional discourses causes a number of problems. The aim of the research is to specify the peculiarities of translating educational discourses from English into Lithuanian. The paper presents a brief theoretical overview on the issues of the translation. It analyses not only the definitions and the main characteristics of the educational discourse but also reveals the particularities of the professionalisms as a linguistic phenomenon. Besides, it presents the selected examples of educational professional language from English educational discourses and their equivalents in the Lithuanian language. The following sources have been used for the empirical investigation: Paul Ramsden (1992) "Learning to Teach in Higher Education"; Paul Ramsden (2001) "Kaip mokyti aukštojoje mokykloje"; Terence H. McLaughlin (1995) "Public Values, Private Values and Educational Responsibility"; Terence H. McLaughlin (1997) "Šiuolaikinė ugdymo filosofija: demokratiškumas, vertybės, įvairovė". Darbe pateikiami edukacinės profesinės kalbos pavyzdžiai iš anglų kalbos edukacinių diskursų ir jų lietuviški vertimo ekvivalentai, kurie išrinkti naudojant žemiau išvardintus šaltinius: Paul Ramsden (1992) "Learning to Teach in Higher Education"; Paul Ramsden (2001) "Kaip mokyti aukštojoje mokykloje"; Terence H. McLaughlin (1995)"Public Values, Private Values and Educational Responsibility"; Terence H. McLaughlin (1997)"Šiuolaikinė ugdymo filosofija: demokratiškumas, vertybės, įvairovė".

We focused the possible relationships between the teacher's action and their professional development, which includes the participation of the School board, considered by us as a collective space. To accomplish this research we used Interviews (KAUFMANN, 1996; SILVA, 2002) to analyze the nine participants, who are teachers' of the school board, and their oral speeches, considered as main references of our study. While trying to understand the reasons that led the teachers to choose her/his educational profession, we noticed the difficulty of recognition of the job of lecturing as a profession. This fact comes as an obstacle to the perspective of the teachers' professional development. In what he/she refers to the forms of the teachers' participation in the board and their meanings, we noticed in first place that the feeling of it belongs one of the decisive factors it can be considered actively for the teacher to announce of the actions colegiadas. This for them to want and they believe that that is the best road for if they develop better while professionals and consequently to improve the situation of the school. In second place we noticed that the school board represents, a place of articulation of the equality among all the ones that form the school community. So, we tried to understand how they happened to the collective actions in the school, how the teachers presented them in spite of what they know, how a collective action should be presented in the elements of fragility of that process that inhibit the development of the overall action. Finally, we questioned the elements that would contribute to the educational professional development; we noticed that the teachers present the competence, the ethics and professional valorization, as factors that contributed at the present time to their educational professional development / Este trabalho tem como objetivo investigar se existe rela??o entre a participa??o docente no colegiado escolar e o desenvolvimento profissional do professor a partir da an?lise das experi?ncias cotidianas de professores de uma institui??o p?blica da Rede Estadual de ensino na cidade do Natal.

O processo de formação da agenda na política remuneratória e de reajustes salariais da Educação do Município de São Paulo (2006-2016) / Agenda-setting process in the remuneration and salary readjustments policy of the Education of the Municipality of São Paulo (2006-2016)

Felices, Marcel Moraes 28 November 2017 (has links)
This policy, characterized by adjustments of the minimum wage of the category followed by divided incorporations in the base salaries in subsequent years, was introduced by the Serra-Kassab government (2005-2008) and kept by the Kassab (2009-2012) and Haddad (2013-2016) governments, providing real wage gains to the category during this period. We seek to understand the ways in which the theme of valuing education professionals ascended in the governmental agenda in 2006. In order to do so, we need to understand how the streams of problems, policies and politics converged, allowing the opening of a window for this policy to be considered and implemented, according to John Kingdon\'s Multiple Streams Model. Frank Baumgartner and Bryan Jones Punctuated Equilibrium Model was also used in order to understand how the image of the problem of valuing education professionals was related to the institutional context. From the analysis of municipal legislation, trade union newspapers, and interviews with the main actors of the process, the following results were reached: the streams of problems, policies, and politics converged in the Serra-Kassab government through the action of public-policy entrepreneurs and of various actors who took part in the process, enabling the rise of the valorization of education professionals in the governmental agenda, thus demanding special attention from public policy makers of the Municipal Administration, who, paired with trade unions, came up with, after a long negotiation process, a plan for the remuneration policy and salary readjustments

Deitos, Maria Lucia Melo de Souza 15 March 2006 (has links)
Orientador: Newton Antonio Paciulli Bryan / Tese (doutorado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Educação / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-06T08:49:27Z (GMT). This thesis as an aim the analysis of the existed relations between the public politics of qualification of workers and the technological innovation in the Brazilian industry. The starting point is the recurring discourse for which converge important shares of the segments of the society (Government, businessmen, workers and academic representatives, etc.), about the importance of the professional qualification of the workers to boost the technological development, raise its deficiency as one of the factors that compromise the competitiveness of the companies and, as a result, of the country. Nevertheless, the contradictions that are under the discourse take us to question about the links that it engenders and in fact it translates. Thus, given the tendency of transferring the attribution of the qualification of workers to the State and considering that that is accomplishing public politics to cope with these complaints, why does this discourse persist and, even, intensify? Why does it go on rising the lack of qualified workers as a factor that makes difficult the technological innovation in the Brazilian industry? To answer these questions it was necessary not only to study the present moment ¿ where the necessity to develop a new profile of worker is raised to cope with the challenges implicit in the processes of work that favors the flexibility ¿ but also to search in the former industry the reasons that conditioned the public politics of qualification of workers and the incorporation of technology in the Brazilian industry. For this, we do historical review of the public politics of the qualification of workers in Brazil; exam the process of the Brazilian industrialization and the ways adopted to the incorporation of technology in the industry; study the third industrial revolution and its implications in the vocational training of workers; and analyze the repercussion of the public politics of qualification of workers in the technological innovation in the Brazilian industry; and, at last, in the final considerations, we expose the evidences raised during the study that give support to the thesis that the discourse which is announced, that raises the necessity of a better qualification to the group of workers as a necessity to promote the process of technological innovation in the Brazilian industry, when enlightened for the options done in terms of technological incorporation and for the structural alterations occurred in the process of production, in the current phase of the capitalist development, it does not survive, carrying out only a mythical and ideological function, adjusted to the operational and productive necessities defined by the process of dependent modernization proposed in Brazil / Doutorado / Politicas de Educação e Sistemas Educativos / Doutor em Educação

Spolupráce aktérů v oblasti mimoškolního vzdělávání rozvíjející aspirace žáků z lokalit ohrožených sociálním vyloučením / The cooperation of the actors in field of non-institutional education which develops aspirations of pupils from localities threatened by social exclusion

Kalný, Bernard January 2012 (has links)
Children growing up in the environment of social exclusion acquire values and habits which weaken and aggravate their integration into the school environment. The lack of success of such children at school is followed by limited educational and professional aspirations which reduce possibilities of their social integration. The governmental conception of social integration and involved experts consider the area of education crucial for prevention of social exclusion transfer from generation to generation. The actors involved in the process of education of socially excluded children are NGOs which provide social services supporting and strengthening educational and professional aspirations. The thesis focuses on the influence of schools on educational - professional aspirations of socially excluded children. The coordination of activities and cooperation of one particular NGO, schools and local authorities in the area of education and their involvement in strengthening of educational - professional aspirations are analysed on the case of regional capital - the City of Pilsen. Based on the analyses of research results, the thesis also proposes a system of coordination of activities between schools and NGOs in the area of education of socially excluded children. Instructional strategies chosen for the classroom in a process-oriented curriculum : a grounded theory study

Davies, Shauna Leigh 14 August 2008
The trend in process-oriented curricula reform began in the mid-1980s and 1990s in response to a call for nursing education to graduate registered nurses that were responsive to a changing society. Many curricula were redesigned from a traditional approach to a process-oriented approach at this time. The purpose of this study is to explore, from a Grounded Theory approach, how instructional strategies are determined within the Canadian classroom setting in a process-oriented curriculum. Interviews were conducted with 17 nurse educators from the Nursing Education Program of Saskatchewan (NEPS). Nurse educators represented courses from all years of the four-year baccalaureate program and all three sites. All interviews were audiotaped and transcribed verbatim with data saturation reached after 13 interviews. Strauss and Corbins (1998) Grounded Theory analysis was utilized. Data analysis was assisted with the use of the qualitative data analysis software program Atlas.ti. The understanding of self was an integrating factor in the theory. The theory provides insights into the factors that have determined the types of instructional strategies utilized by full-time faculty within a generic process-oriented curriculum and identifies the support systems these nurse educators feel were or should be in place to assist in their roles. The research has implications for nurse educators, administrators, program planners, and students.
