Effekter av Förnedrings-tv i empatisk förmåga och sinnesstämning

Andersson, Lina, Svensson, Anette January 2007 (has links)

Wikström, Erik January 2009 (has links)
<p>The aim of this thesis is to find out how ordinary teachers work with students with ADHD / DAMP. The questions I’ve asked are, what tools are there at school to guide children with ADHD / DAMP in addition to diagnosis and the problems that teachers usually encounter when dealing with children that are thought to have ADHD / DAMP? The empirical answers indicate, that the contact with parents is of great importance, and that the teacher comes to have a clear framework and structure in the classroom. These findings tie in to the neuropsychological approach, which is based on the neuropsychological research. The ecological perspective that looks at the overall picture of the interaction between the student and the environment and the psycho-pedagogical strategy in which, among other uses behavioral modification as a tool, for instance by highlighting the positive behaviors and documents. "ADHD in the class" is a common problem and says that between one in four to one in eight persons over twenty years of age sought psychiatric help. The method to find this out, has been through semi-structured interviews, which means that I am using the same template, but after every interview I have made the assessment in order to move on to the interviewee's line and ask supplementary questions to make it as natural as possible and to minimize the risk to stop in the middle of the argument.</p>

Reliable controller design for systems with transients

Feng, Lei 14 April 1998 (has links)
Reliable controller designs have been developed in this thesis for a number of finite-horizon and infinite-horizon problems with possibly non-zero initial conditions. These reliable controllers assure that system stability and system performance will be maintained despite certain system faults. The performance measure used in this thesis is an "H[subscript ]-like norm", which is an induced two-norm from all exogenous signals and initial conditions to the regulated output and final states. Controller designs and existence conditions are presented for a reliable controller for faults in any pre-selected subset of actuators or sensors. Also, controller designs and an existence condition are presented for a reliable controller for any single sensor or actuator fault using sensor and actuator redundancy. / Graduation date: 1999

An adaptive all-pass filter for decision feedback equalization

Wiedmann, Ralf 06 March 1997 (has links)
Increasing densities on magnetic data storage devices leads to problems of severe intersymbol interference (ISI), additive noise and non-linearities. Advanced detection strategies for magnetic recording channels fall into two categories: partial response equalization with maximum likelihood decoding and decision feedback equalization. This study focuses on doing an adaptive all-pass forward filter for the decision feedback channel. The decision feedback channel can be equalized by a low-order continuous-time filter, and does not require a transversal filter with high-precision multiplication. This results in considerable savings in both power consumption and chip die area. One problem that has yet to be addressed is how to adaptively set the coefficients of the all-pass filter. This thesis examines the design and performance of an adaptive all-pass filter. The performances in terms of the mean-squared error (MSE) of a first- and second-order all-pass are evaluated. They are compared to a conventional FIR filter design of various lengths. An adaptive algorithm based on the least mean-squared (LMS) error is developed and characterized over a range of storage densities. Since this does not require sampling of the filter input or any states of the forward filter, the system could be realized in continuous-time up to the decision device. Numerical simulations for various data densities and noise variances are done to verify the theoretically expected performance and the adaptation behavior of the all-pass. / Graduation date: 1997

Development of novel high-performance six-axis magnetically levitated instruments for nanoscale applications

Verma, Shobhit 01 November 2005 (has links)
This dissertation presents two novel 6-axis magnetic-levitation (maglev) stages that are capable of nanoscale positioning. These stages have very simple and compact structure that is advantageous to meet requirements in the next-generation nanomanufacturing. The 6-axis motion generation is accomplished by the minimum number of actuators and sensors. The first-generation maglev stage is capable of generating translation of 300 ??m in x, y and z, and rotation of 3 mrad about the three orthogonal axes. The stage demonstrates position resolution better than 5 nm rms and position noise less than 2 nm rms. It has a light moving-part mass of 0.2126 kg. The total power consumption by all the actuators is only around a watt. Experimental results show that the stage can carry, orient, and precisely position an additional payload as heavy as 0.3 kg. The second-generation maglev stage is capable of positioning at the resolution of a few nanometers over a planar travel range of several millimeters. A novel actuation scheme was developed for the compact design of this stage that enables 6-axis force generation with just 3permanent-magnet pieces. Electromagnetic forces were calculated and experimentally verified. The complete design and construction of the second-generation maglev stage was performed. All the mechanical part and assembly fixtures were designed and fabricated at the mechanical engineering machine shop. The single moving part is modeled as a pure mass due to the negligible effect of the magnetic spring and damping. Classical as well as advanced controllers were designed and implemented for closed-loop feedback control. A nonlinear model of the force was developed and applied to cancel the nonlinearity of the actuators over the large travel range. Various experiments were conducted to test positioning, loading, and vibration-isolation capabilities. This maglev stage has a moving-part mass of 0.267 kg. Its position resolution is 4 nm over a travel range of 5 ?? 5 mm in the x-y plane. Its actuators are designed to carry and precisely position an additional payload of 2 kg. Its potential applications include semiconductor manufacturing, micro-fabrication and assembly, nanoscale profiling, and nano-indentation.

Tipselitfotbollsspelare och tränarbeteenden – en kvalitativ studie om upplevelse av självbestämmande och motivationsklimat

Lundgren, Malin January 2009 (has links)

Development of a FPGA-based development platform for real-time control of combustion engine parameters

Bohlin, Henrik January 2011 (has links)
Today’s increased regulatory demands on emissions and hard competition drives manufacturers of heavy vehicles to try new technologies in an attempt to fulfill regulations and get ahead of competitors. This paper describes the development of a platform that is to be used as a tool to evaluate the possibilities of incorporating an FPGA in the future ECUs of Scania CV AB. Requirements for such a platform are examined and presented. These requirements are then implemented as a technology demonstrator able to sample signals from sensors and performing computations using the sampled data. The technology demonstrator is also equipped with an interface to which current ECUs can be connected.

Therapeutic Benefits of an Enhanced Video Feedback Intervention for Socially Anxious Individuals

Orr, Elizabeth January 2008 (has links)
Video feedback (VF) has been widely integrated into cognitive behavioural treatment protocols for socially anxious individuals due to its presumed efficacy in improving negative self-perception and reducing underestimations of performance. However, studies examining VF in social anxiety reveal, surprisingly, that correction of overly negative self-perception does not unequivocally facilitate anxiety reduction during subsequent social interactions. In the current study, we examined whether VF could be optimized to facilitate social anxiety reduction through the inclusion of a post-VF encoding manipulation. The manipulation was designed to enable individuals to internalize the positive information received from VF by enhancing the depth at which they processed the self-exposure information. Forty-three individuals high in social anxiety and verbal communication anxiety were randomly assigned to one of the following three conditions: A) VF + Manipulation; B) VF + No Manipulation; and C) No VF. Results revealed that VF + Manipulation led to significant cognitive changes pertaining to self-efficacy and internal attributions of performance relative to the other two conditions. Unexpectedly, both VF conditions were equally efficacious in the facilitation of anxiety reduction relative to the No VF condition. Results are discussed in the context of cognitive behavioural models of anxiety and the mechanisms of exposure-based learning.
