No primeiro eixo... / The formation process of an elite footballer is long and directly related to the competence of all professionals involved in such process. The study of the domains imbued in the interventions taken by the professional staff of clubs with tradition in formation of footballers is crucial to the understanding of the success in the process and its possible limitations. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the domains of professional staff (head coaches, strength and conditioning coaches, and goalkeeper coaches) working in the formation of footballers for São Paulo Futebol Clube, and the secondary purpose was to analyze how these professionals embodied these domains during their careers in this club. São Paulo Futebol Clube was chosen because of its known history in forming world-class footballers since the nineties. Sixteen professionals who were working in the youth teams of São Paulo Futebol Clube participated in the study as subjects. A classification of domains adapted from that proposed by Tardif (2002) was used to investigate the domains present in the daily work routine of the subjects. The investigation methods used were, as follows: questionnaire, semistructured interview, documental research, and participating observation. Collected data was examined by a method called “analysis of content”. Results and discussion were presented based on two thematic lines with their respective inner types of analysis. In the first one, the domains relative to the professional formation, disciplines, institution, and work experience were broached. In the second one, the influence of the professional formation of the subjects on the embodiment of domains present in the work actuation was analyzed. The results indicated that domains relative to the biological aspects of human body were most noticeable among those... (Complete abstract click electronic access below)

Gloriozova, Ekaterina 27 April 2018 (has links)

FIFA World Cup: Factors that explain the performances of National Football Teams

Seth, Shivaan 01 January 2018 (has links)
This paper examines the determinants of FIFA World Cup performances of nations. The study incorporates socioeconomic, cultural, demographic and football-specific factors to investigate how World Cup results can be explained. A linear regression is used to study the last five tournaments, and the model finds that being seeded for the draw, and the host country effect are statistically significant variables. Additionally, I discover two new variables – namely, having a star player and having become a member of FIFA before 1924, as being statistically significant in my analysis.

Guerreiros não abandonam a batalha: publicidade e identidade do herói nacional no Mundial de Futebol de 2010 / Warriors do not abandon the battle: advertising and identity of the nacional hero during the 2010 Fifa World Cup

Camila Augusta Alves Pereira 24 April 2012 (has links)

The objective of this work is to make an analysis of the football manifestations in the beginning of century XXI. In order to reach this objective we developed an empirical research on the football by means of the television and considering the transformation of this sport in a TV-show. We analyzed the 2005 Brazilian Championship and the 2006 World Cup realized in Germany. We have used the content analysis as method of exploration and the data analysis as we consider these methods the most efficient way to go beyond the meanings of the simple and superficial true of what is written and showed as real about this subject. Our research objectified to verify the tendency of the football, as one of the main activities of leisure in its composition as a merchandise and its relation with the new existing technologies. We realized during the researches that beyond the transformation of the soccer in a TV-shoe (which brings a singular identity relation to the fans that watch the games through the television than the ones who go to stadiums), a tendency towards the privatization of the relations and the degradation of the public spaces that historically were constructed for the collective use. We finalize our statement with a defense of the collectively spaces constructed and shared by all and the hope to see in the leisure a differentiated moment of questioning this individualistic reality we live in and a construction of solid identities to the individuals of our society / Mestrado / Estudos do Lazer / Mestre em Educação Física

Ocenění fotbalového klubu Manchester United / Valuation of Manchester United Football Club

Hostaša, Martin January 2017 (has links)
The thesis Valuation of Manchester United Football Club deals with the fundamental differences between the sports club and the usual business in its theoretical part. Further, the basic methods of business valuation are summarized there and also some alternative approaches that are used in practice. We focused mainly on the practical part of the thesis, for which we have chosen Manchester United Football Club. The main reason why we chose this club was primarily due to publicly available information and data about the club as its shares are traded on the NYSE. We conducted both financial and strategic analysis of the club and used the results of the analysis in our own valuation. Then we compared the valuation with market capitalization and alternative valuation according to Forbes. We analyze the differences in conclusion.

Gaze behaviour patterns of under 19 level Rugby union players during one-on-one defensive play

Raffan, Ryan Phillip January 2012 (has links)
The aim of this study was to describe and compare the gaze behaviour patterns of expert and near expert under 19 level rugby union players during one-on-one defensive play. Gaze characteristics such as the areas of interest visited, the number of fixations, the duration of each fixation, the starting and last fixations; and the order of fixations adopted were used to achieve the aim of the study. In addition, biographical data, including sporting and vision history, were collected. Data of the two groups were described and compared with statistically and practically significant differences been highlighted. Inferential statistics were used and the following significant levels set: p<.05 for t-tests and Chi-sq'ared - tests while Cohen's d (absolute value) ≥0.20 and Cramér‟s V ≥0.10 were used to determine the practical significance for statistically significant results, respectively. An exploratory and quasi-experimental design was used, in which 81 participants (16 – 19 years of age) were sampled for differences between experts' and near experts' visual-search strategies and gaze behaviour patterns when anticipating the direction of deceptive running skills in rugby union, however, only 68 participants had eye tracker data analyzed due to the strict calibration criteria. The expert players correctly anticipated significantly (t-stat = -3.16, p = .002, d = 0.71) more than the near expert players on average (75.76% compared to 66.46%), and therefore, were less susceptible to deceptive running skills. The near expert players were, however, more aware of their fixation location than expert players. Both expert and near expert players fixated considerably more on the knees and hips than any other area of interest, however expert players had fewer, but longer fixations than near expert players per run with 4.29 ± 1.89 fixations (χ2 = 3.90, p = .048, V = 0.24) of 0.420 ± 0.140 seconds (χ2 = 3.97, p = .046, V = 0.24) compared to 5.34 ± 2.39 fixations of 0.350 ± 0.150 seconds. Both the expert and near expert groups fixated more on the lower body than the upper body on average, however, the near expert players fixated significantly more off the body for all correct runs than the expert players (t-stat = 2.17, p = .034, d = 0.53). The expert players start fixating more on the knees at the start of each trial, whereas the near expert players start fixating more on the knees and hips, and considerably off-target. The expert players fixate significantly more on the knees (t-stat = -2.56, p = .013, d = 0.63) at the end of each trial than the near expert players on average, whereas the near expert players fixate more on the hips. The orders of fixation did not yield any discernable patterns between expert and near expert players for correctly anticipated runs. Experts exhibit superior visual-search strategies and gaze behaviour control, presumably using the top-down approach, to successfully anticipate an opponent's intended direction. This information could help coaches teach perceptual tackling skills to enhance motor learning and performance.

Analýza příjmů státního rozpočtu v závislosti na zavedení pracovněprávních vztahů v profesionálním fotbale / Analysis of taxation of professional footballers and impact of proposed legislative change to the state budget

Dubský, Tomáš January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse the impact of proposed change to taxation of professional football players in Czech republic. According to Czech tax authorities the formal relationship between football player and football club is considered as self-employment, nevertheless by its nature is more likely employment. In the theoretical part of this thesis I will define the difference between self-employment and employment, I will also describe the problem of illegal self-employment in place of employment. There will be described different forms of taxation of football players in Europe and finally a new legislative change will be proposed. In the analytical part there will be quantified the impact of the proposed legislative change.
