Desta forma, temos o interesse de, no cerne do processo da tradução/adaptação, investigar relações discursivas entre o factual e o ficcional que marcam tanto o livro quanto o filme, analisando a presença de traços de reportagem jornalística na obra literária e de cinema documental na obra Fílmica. / Abstract: This project intends to focus the problematic that permeates the adaptation of literary works to the audiovisual media, more specifically, the brazilian cinema, through the analysis of book Elite‟s Troop, from Luiz Eduardo Soares, André Batista and Rodrigo Pimentel and your cinematographic transition Elite Squad, directed by José Padilha. Paulo durante o período de março a maio de 1929. Atento ao crescente fluxo imigratório e a urbanização, Guilherme de Almeida nos convida a um olhar narrativo-poético sobre oito bairros estrangeiros na cidade de São Paulo. Tal corpus também nos instiga a questionar sobre o hibridismo localizado tanto na transgressão dos limites entre prosa e poesia quanto na ruptura de fronteiras entre jornalismo e literatura. Assim, para o estudo da série de reportagens Cosmópolis recorremos, fundamentalmente, às teorias do jornalismo focadas na questão dos gêneros jornalísticos, como também aos trabalhos de crítica literária e análise poética. Ademais, procuramos confeccionar uma análise da percepção do imigrante nesse peculiar registro da imigração paulistana vigente na década de 20 / This research performs and analytical-interpretative study of the series of reports Cosmópolis, the poet Guilherme de Almeida, published in the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo during the period from March 1929. Aware of the increasing immigration flow and urbanization, Guilherme de Almeida invites us to a narrative-poetic look at eight foreign quarters in São Paulo. This corpus also encourages us to questions about hybridity located both in transgression of the boundaries between prose and poetry and in breaking boundaries between journalism and literature. Thus, to study the series of reports Cosmópolis appealed mainly to the journalism theories focused on the issue of jourlaistic genres, as well as the works of literacy criticism and poetic analysis. Escrevendo narrativas com características da reportagem moderna e da crônica, João do Rio, um dos profissionais de imprensa mais lidos da época, registrou um período de modernização do rio de Janeiro, então capital federal. No embate com seus textos, refletimos sobre suas contribuições - narrativas e históricas - à reportagem brasileira moderna, dissertamos, sobre como se caracterizam em sua obra a figura do narrador, a composição dos personagens, o registro dos espaços e a construções temporais. Metodologicamente, recorremos às teorias do jornalismo e da literatura / This research studied analytically and interpretively texts of the journalist-author Paulo Barreto, know as João do Rio, one of the most widely read professional journalists of his time, experienced a period of modernization of Rio de Janeiro, then the federal capital. In the clash with their texts, this research consider on their contributions - and historical narratives - for the Brazilian modern story and discuss how to characterize his work over the figure of the narrator, the composition of the characters, the recording of temporal spaces and buildings. Os dois filmes são frutos de adaptações dos romances-reportagem Lúcio Flávio e Infância dos Mortos de José Louzeiro. Assim, interessa-nos também investigar e identificar as marcas dos elementos jornalísticos que caracterizam a obra literária de Louzeiro, e localizá-los no cinema de Babenco; interessa fundamentalmente esse trânsito entre reportagem e literatura, que daria origem aos romances-reportagem de Louzeiro, e entre a literatura e o cinema de Babenco. Cabe aqui compreender os diversos aspectos que caracterizam o processo de adaptação literária para o audiovisual, através das obras citadas / Abstract: This dissertation focuses on the discussion of the problem of the adaptation of the literacy text to the audiovisual medium, taking as its starting point the study of two films: Lúcio Flávio, Passenger of Agony and Pixote, the Law of the Weakest, both directed by Hector Barbenco. Two films are the result of adaptation of novels-report Lúcio Flávio and Childhood of the Dead by José Louzeiro. Thus, we are interested in also investigate and identify the brands of journalistic elements that characterized the literacy work Louzeiro, and locate them in Babenco movies; interest fundamentally transit between this report and literature that would give rise to novels, reportage Louzeiro, and between literature and cinema Babenco. O objetivo desta tese é uma análise do romance Dombey e Filho (1848), de Charles Dickens. Esse é seu sétimo romance e representa um divisor de águas em sua obra: a crítica social, a observação dos costumes e o diagnóstico da época passaram a ser feitos de um modo mais incisivo. Sempre com a preocupação de relacionar a forma literária e o processo social, nossa hipótese é a de que o narrador de Dombey e Filho, ao materializar os paradoxos da sociedade inglesa em meados do século XIX, busca soluções estéticas para contradições da realidade. A despeito das mudanças ocorridas nesses cento e cinquenta anos, e agora num contexto mais amplo, partes substanciais de tais contradições foram acentuadas, continuando em vigor, além disso, o certo estatuto de normalidade que as acompanham. Nesse sentido, nosso desafio é procurar na própria forma da obra os índices de algo que está para além dela: em seu presente e em seu futuro. / The aim of this thesis is the analysis of the novel Dombey and Son (1848), by Charles Dickens. It is his seventh novel and represents a watershed in his work: in it, social criticism, the observation of manners and the diagnosis of the age became more incisive. Always bearing in mind the attempt to establish the relationship between literary form and social process, I argue that the narrator in Dombey and Son tries to elaborate aesthetic solutions for real contradictions while dealing with paradoxical midnineteenth- century English society. Despite all the changes since then, and in a broader context now, substantial parts of these contradictions have been emphasized, acquiring a certain degree of accepted normality. In this sense, our challenge is to investigate in the very form of the novel signs of something that goes beyond it: in its present and in its future.

O objetivo deste trabalho é a realização de uma análise do romance Esaú e Jacó, de Machado de Assis. Para isso, buscou-se investigar qual o sentido da construção da obra apoiada em um enredo tedioso, cujo conflito - um antagonismo entre irmãos gêmeos não é estabelecido em profundidade. O modo de atuação do narrador no que diz respeito à construção dessa aparência de conflito, juntamente com a sua relação - ou desdobramento - com a figura do Conselheiro Aires, a personagem que alega e propala tédio à controvérsia, é um dos focos principais de observação nesta pesquisa. Este viés de observação sugeriu a aproximação analítica com a série A+B, grupo de sete crônicas em forma de diálogo, publicadas na Gazeta de notícias por Machado de Assis. A série reproduz um princípio formal semelhante ao encontrado no romance, um narrador distanciado que conduz uma encenação do procedimento das elites brasileiras durante a passagem do Império à República. Os problemas formais discutidos pelas obras literárias foram considerados numa relação dinâmica com as movimentações históricas trazidas pela modernização conservadora do Brasil no século XIX. / The aim of this study is to conduct an analysis of the novel Esaú e Jacó, by Machado de Assis. For this, the author sought to investigate the meaning of the narrative construction supported by a tedious plot, whose conflict - an antagonism between twins - is not established in depth. The mode of action of the narrator in relation to the construction of this appearance of conflict, along with his relationship - or split - with the figure of Counselor Aires, the character who claims \"boredom of controversy\", is a major focus or observation in this study. These ideas suggested an analytical approach to the series A + B, group of seven chronicles, written in dialogue form, and published in Gazeta de notícias by Machado de Assis. The series plays a formal principle similar to that found in the novel, a detached narrator who leads a staging procedure of the Brazilian elites during the transition from Empire to Republic. The formal problems discussed by the literary works were considered in a dynamic relationship with the changes brought about by historical conservative modernization of Brazil in the nineteenth century.

Esta tese investiga aspectos da configuração do raciocínio crítico de Roberto Schwarz. O principal material de análise são os ensaios sobre formas estéticas e culturais brasileiras redigidos pelo autor entre 1958 e 1968, num período que abrange a sua produção teórica anterior ao exílio na França. No exame deste percurso, pretende-se distinguir os embates contraditórios entre as categorias do crítico e certa experiência histórica ambivalente internalizada pelo romance local, que seria um dado estruturante na reflexão de Schwarz. Num primeiro momento, enquanto essa matéria social já desponta sob o signo difuso do malogro do realismo literário no país, o ponto de vista analítico-interpretativo supõe uma referência comum à noção de obra autônoma como instância congenial à crítica dialética. Às voltas com o golpe empresarial-miliar de 1964, Schwarz buscaria operar de modo incisivo com a sua imediatidade prática. E esse anseio de eficácia política da crítica, ao esbarrar em limites históricos, redefine e acirra os vetores divergentes que vinham caracterizando a sua experiência social do tempo. Desse modo, entrechocam-se ali juízos orientados por uma temporalidade cumulativa e ascendente, disputada em termos políticos radicais - e apoiada na crítica à ordem populista derrotada -, e diagnósticos sobre uma situação presente que parecia se acomodar a si mesma, sem antagonismos de classe nitidamente configurados, redimensionando-se o que Schwarz entendia ser o desdobramento realista da vida. / This dissertation investigates aspects of the configuration of Roberto Schwarzs critical argument. The main material of analysis are the essays about aesthetical and Brazilian cultural forms written by the author between 1958 and 1968, in a period that embraces his theoretical production prior to his exile in France. In the survey of this path, it is intended to distinguish the contradictory clashes between the categories of the critic and certain ambivalent historical experience internalized by the local novel, which would be a structuralizing data of Schwarzs meditation. At a first moment, while this social matter already appears under the diffuse sign of failure of literary realism in the country, the analytical-interpretive point of view supposes a common reference to the notion of autonomous work as the congenial instance to the dialectical criticism. Dealing with the corporate-military 1964 Brazilian coup détat, Schwarz would operate in a more incisive way with its practical immediacy. And this wish of the political efficacy of the criticism, when bumped against historical limits, redefines and stirs the divergent vectors that used to characterize his social experience of time. In this way, judgments oriented by a cumulative and ascending temporality, disputed in radical political terms - and backed by the criticism to the defeated populist order -, clash against diagnoses about a present situation that seemed to accommodate in itself, with no class antagonisms clearly configured, resizing what Schwarz understood to be the realistic unfolding of life.

Os dados para análise e síntese foram coletados por meio de entrevistas, diálogos e consulta às referências esparsas existentes sobre o autor em questão. O estudo, portanto, atende a diferentes linhas de pesquisa - a formação da fortuna crítica e a elaboração de uma biografia intelectual do autor, em que se dá ênfase à sua militância política e literária. / Abstract: The present research makes the rescue of some information about Osório Alves de Castro, in which the future studies can emerge from. All the data used for analysis and synthesis was collected through interviews, dialogs and existent esparse references about the author here mentioned. The study however goes through different lines of the formation of the critic fortune and the elaboration of an intellectual biography of the author, in which it emphasizes his political militancy. / Mestre
