The present work was developed in the line of research of Special Education of the Master course in Education at Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). The study consists of an investigation about the relevance of the course in Fundamentals of Special Education, inserted in the curriculum of undergraduate courses at UFSM, given the Ministerial Decree N º. 1.793/94. From experiences as substitute teacher in the course of Foundations of Special Education in the Department of Special Education at UFSM, this study has as the main focus to investigate the relevance of this discipline considering the pedagogical practice of the teachers graduated at UFSM. Taking the assumptions of Schön (1992) I saw as a premise the need of reflecting about the practice developed by myself as a teacher. The study is also based on the Historical-Cultural theory of Vygotsky (1991), in which the author believes that the man is a social being formed within an cultural environment historically defined, considering that the development is the result of social interactions. The research was characterized as qualitative descriptive, and featured with a semi-structured interview as a tool for data collection. The interview was conducted with six graduated teachers of the following courses: Visual Arts - Degree in Design and Plastic, teaching in Mathematics - night course and teaching in Music at UFSM. The interpretation and analysis of results were based on the technique of result analysis of Bardin (2008). The conclusions reaffirm that one of the elements for graduate a teacher with a pedagogical view taking into account the scholar inclusion is based on the warranty of an initial degree enabling that the future regular teacher changes its values and concepts, developing appropriate pedagogical actions in the process of scholar inclusion. Furthermore, the interview registered as a suggestion/claim an expansion of the workload of the course, enabling better preparation for the challenge that the educational context is proposed. / Esse estudo foi desenvolvido na linha de pesquisa em Educação Especial do curso de Mestrado em Educação do Programa de Pós-Graduação da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. Consiste em uma investigação sobre a relevância da disciplina Fundamentos da Educação Especial, inserida na matriz curricular dos cursos de Licenciatura da UFSM, atendendo à Portaria Ministerial Nº. 1.793/94. A partir de experiências vivenciadas, como professora substituta do Departamento de Educação Especial e da disciplina Fundamentos da Educação Especial, ambos da UFSM, aponto como foco desse estudo investigar a relevância dessa disciplina no fazer pedagógico de professores egressos de cursos de licenciatura frente ao processo de inclusão escolar. Imbuída dos pressupostos de Schön (1992) vi como premente a necessidade de refletir sobre a prática desenvolvida por mim no exercício da docência. Embasou-se também na teoria Histórico-Cultural de Vygotsky (1991), na qual o autor acredita que o homem é um ser social, formado dentro de um ambiente cultural historicamente definido, assim o desenvolvimento é resultado das interações sociais. A pesquisa caracterizou-se como qualitativa descritiva, e contou com uma entrevista semiestruturada como instrumento para coleta de dados. Esta foi realizada com seis professores egressos dos seguintes cursos: Artes Visuais Licenciatura em Desenho e Plástica, Matemática Licenciatura Noturno e Música - Licenciatura da UFSM. A interpretação e análise dos conteúdos basearam-se na Técnica de Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin (2008). As conclusões reafirmam que um dos elementos para o desenvolvimento de um fazer pedagógico que considere a inclusão escolar encontra-se na garantia ou na promoção de formação inicial que possibilite ao futuro professor da rede regular de ensino mudar seus valores e concepções, desenvolvendo ações pedagógicas adequadas frente ao processo de inclusão escolar. Além disso, registrou-se por parte dos sujeitos sugestões/reivindicações para que seja modificada e ampliada a carga horária, possibilitando maior apresto para o desafio que o cenário educacional se propõe.

Considering the smaller size of the German stock market, a F_SCORE_ADD was created to differentiate between companies with the same score. Portfolios that went long in expected winners and shorted expected losers generated strong results within the small cap sample. For large caps, the abnormality of returns was not significant after controlling for common risk factors and quality. This relates to the results of other researchers and questions the practicality of the investment strategy for institutional investors with a large capital base to employ. / Esta dissertação aplica o F_SCORE de Joseph Piotroski ao mercado de ações alemão entre 2002 e 2016. Por causa do tamanho menor do mercado de ações alemão, um F_SCORE_ADD foi criado para diferenciar entre as empresas com a mesma pontuação. Carteiras que foram 'long' em vencedores esperados e 'short' em perdedores esperados renderam bons resultados dentro da amostra com empresas de baixo valor de mercado. Para as empresas de alta capitalização, a anormalidade de retornos não foi estatisticamente significante após o controle de fatores de risco comuns e qualidade. Isto relaciona-se com os resultados de outros investigadores e questiona a praticidade desta estratégia de investimento para os investidores institucionais com uma grande base de capital para empregar.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / A análise da matriz energética mundial, assim como a brasileira, nos mostra que o gás natural representará em breve um importante insumo energético favorecendo a balança de pagamentos nacional, visto que o gás poderá ser usado tanto para consumo interno, quanto para exportação. O aumento das reservas nacionais de hidrocarbonetos se deve ao desenvolvimento de tecnologias, que favoreceram o conhecimento das bacias brasileiras quanto ao seu potencial produtor de combustíveis fósseis, permitindo a descoberta de novas jazidas. O amadurecimento do mercado nacional quanto ao consumo de gás natural passa pela construção de uma infraestrutura robusta, eficiente e que possibilite a captação, o armazenamento e distribuição do mesmo. O Brasil tem todos os requisitos necessários para adentrar ao seleto grupo de países exportadores de hidrocarbonetos, a descoberta do Pré-sal tende a incrementar a importância do gás natural para o país. Ao final do trabalho são descritos cenários futuros (quanto o consumo de energéticos), onde se vê que o consumo de energia para os próximos anos crescerá a taxas superiores as das duas últimas décadas. Análise destes cenários permite antecipar o interesse de futuros investimentos no desenvolvimento do conhecimento geológico para áreas promissoras. / The analysis of global energy matrix, as well as Brazilian, shows that natural gas will soon represent an important source of energy promoting the national balance of payments, since the gas would be used for domestic consumption and export. The increase in national reserves of oil due to the development of technologies that promote knowledge of the brazilian basins as the potential producer of fossil fuels, allowing the discovery of new deposits. The maturing of the domestic market as the consumption of natural gas involves the construction of a robust infrastructure, efficient and enabling the capture, storage and distribution of the product. Brazil has all the necessary requirements to enter the select group of oil exporting countries, the discovery of pre-salt tends to increase the importance of natural gas to the country. At the end of the paper described future scenarios (about the consumption of energy), where we can see that the energy consumption for the coming years will increase faster than the last two decades. Analysis of these scenarios let anticipate the interest of future investments in the development of geological knowledge to promising areas.

Dinâmica da taxa de câmbio no Brasil de 2004 a 2012: efeitos da crise econômico-financeira internacional de 2008 / Brazilian foreign exchange rate dynamics from 2004 to 2012: effects of the international economic and financial crisis of 2008

O presente trabalho teve por objetivo investigar se há evidências de que o regime de política cambial brasileiro teria se alterado no pós-crise econômico-financeira internacional de 2008, além de captar insights acerca da eficácia dos instrumentos de intervenção recentemente aplicados sobre o mercado de moedas e acerca do poder explicativo dos fundamentos da taxa de câmbio. Três fatos estilizados do mercado de câmbio brasileiro incitam essa investigação. O primeiro deles encontra-se no histórico de mudanças de regime cambial do Brasil e das demais economias emergentes, as quais geralmente têm ocorrido em momentos de crises internacionais por impossibilidade dos governos em sustentar o regime vigente. O segundo assenta-se na dinâmica recente do real cuja variação tem se descolado da dinâmica das demais moedas commodities currencies. Por fim, o terceiro ponto está nas inovações recentes em política de intervenção das autoridades monetárias e fiscais visando à gestão da cotação da moeda com medidas tais como as modificações das alíquotas do IOF sobre operações cambiais. Para o alcance dos objetivos foi utilizado o modelo Markov Switching desenvolvido por Hamilton (1989) aplicado ao modelo estrutural de curto prazo para taxa de câmbio, no qual foram consideradas como variáveis explicativas os fundamentos e as intervenções na taxa de câmbio descritas na literatura atual. O modelo foi estimado com ambas as variáveis sujeitas a estados não observáveis, cujas probabilidades de ocorrência são geradas por um processo markoviano. Como resultado foi identificado que não há evidências representativas de modificação na dinâmica da taxa de câmbio no pós-crise que conduzam a interpretação de alteração no regime de política cambial adotado pelo Brasil. Verificou-se também que as intervenções das autoridades monetárias e fiscais não obtiveram eficácia em gerir ou direcionar a variação ou nível da moeda. Ademais, a aplicação do modelo de mudança de regime na série da taxa de câmbio permitiu compreender a sua dinâmica no período recente e o modo como os fundamentos e intervenção perdem e ganham influência na determinação da cotação ao longo dos ciclos da moeda. / This study seeks evidences of changes in the Brazilian foreign exchange rate regime after the international economic and financial crisis of 2008. Furthermore, captures insights on the effectiveness of the intervention measures recently applied on the currency market and the explanatory power of the fundamentals of exchange rates. Three particular facts of the Brazilian foreign exchange market stimulated this research. First, the historical changes of foreign exchange rate regimes in Brazil and other emerging economies. Generally, it has occurred in times of international crises due to the failure of governments to sustain the regime. Second, recent deviation of the Real, which has been detached from the dynamics of other commodities currencies. Finally, the third fact is the recent innovations on monetary and fiscal intervention policies by authorities in order to manage currency value, such as adjustments of IOF on foreign exchange transactions. This investigation uses Markov switching model, developed by Hamilton (1989), applied to the structural model for short-term exchange rate, considering the fundamentals and interventions on the exchange rate described in the current literature as explanatory variables. The model was estimated with both variables subjected to unobservable states, whose probabilities of occurrence are generated by a Markov process. As result, there is no significant evidence of changes in the dynamic of exchange rate in the post-crisis that explains changes in foreign exchange rate regimes adopted by Brazil. The intervention by monetary authorities was not efficient in managing or guiding the dynamic of foreign exchange rate. In addition, the application of the Markov switching model in the foreign exchange rate series allowed understanding the dynamics in recent periods and how fundamentals and interventions loses and gain influence in determining prices throughout the currency cycles.

The research aimed to examine possible contributions of recreational activities in teaching fundamentals of sports futsal (driving the ball, field, passing, kicking, marking and rules). For its development, methodological procedures were used qualitative, with application of interviews that included the participation of 25 subjects, students from the sixth year of elementary school in the morning, a private university in the city of Assis-SP. The results indicated that the accession of students with respect to the proposed activities occurred satisfactorily. The recreational activities were circumstances favorable to participation and interaction, learning technical fundamentals of soccer. Data analysis showed that the use of recreational activities in physical education classes provide teaching situations that stimulated the participation, interaction and student learning. / Esta dissertação é resultado de pesquisa desenvolvida no Programa de Mestrado em Educação, linha de pesquisa 2 Formação e Prática Pedagógica do Profissional Docente, da Universidade do Oeste Paulista. A pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar possíveis contribuições de atividades lúdicas no ensino de fundamentos esportivos de futsal (condução da bola, domínio, passes, chute, marcação e regras). Para o seu desenvolvimento, foram utilizados procedimentos metodológicos de caráter qualitativo, com aplicação de entrevistas que contaram com a participação de 25 sujeitos, alunos do sexto ano do ensino fundamental, do período matutino, de uma instituição privada de ensino do município de Assis-SP. Learning the syntax, semantics, and concepts behind software engineering can be a challenging task for many individuals. This paper examines the Alice 3 software, a three-dimensional visual environment for teaching programming concepts, to determine if it is an effective tool for improving student achievement, raising self-efficacy, and engaging students. This study compares the similarities and differences between a Fundamentals of Programming course with and without Alice integrated into the curriculum. Both the treatment and control Groups are using the same Java materials, assignments, and exams. The treatment group also completes Alice activities for each programming concept throughout the course; as well as two Alice assignments.

Best Practices in Literacy Achievement to Address Reading Failure for Elementary Schools in One School District

The local district in this study has not made adequate yearly progress in the past several years in language arts literacy on state assessments. Particularly problematic were poor reading skills among district students. Poor literacy skills negatively affect student learning across the curriculum. The purpose of this case study was to identify teachers' and administrators' perceptions of best literacy practices, professional development, and administrative decisions regarding literacy learning for primary students in reading at a strong performing elementary school in the district. The target school was selected to help address reading failure for the low-performing schools in this district. Bloom's taxonomy of learning, which indicates that higher-level learning is based on foundational knowledge that is often provided at the primary level, was the framework for this study. A bounded case study was conducted that included a purposeful sample of 7 elementary teachers of language arts from Pre-K to 2nd grades and 2 administrators at the target elementary school. Classroom observations and interviews were used to collect data. NVivo was used to assist in coding, analysis of data, and identification of recurring themes. The findings indicated that an outcome-based curriculum incorporating Bloom's levels of learning coupled with supportive district decisions regarding literacy were key components driving literacy success at the target school. The findings were incorporated into a policy paper as a project to propose and support elementary level reading curriculum changes and administrative decisions regarding literacy success for elementary students in the local district. Implications for positive social change might be far reaching as elementary school students in this district benefit from literacy skills that improve their academic success and ultimately their overall quality of life.

Helhetsperspektiv vid överrapportering från ambulanssjukvården till akutsjukvården : En litteraturöversikt guidad av Fundamentals of Care

Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskan ska ha ett helhetsperspektiv på vården där det teoretiska ramverket Fundamentals of Care beskriver hur patientens fysiska, psykosociala och relationella vårdbehov behöver vara tillfredsställa för att ett helhetsperspektiv för vården ska vara möjligt. Överrapportering mellan ambulanspersonal och personal på akutmottagning sker dagligen och är ett relativt välstuderat område där brister i överrapporteringen har visat sig ge konsekvenser för patientsäkerheten. Mindre studerat är dock vad överrapporteringen innehåller och om rapporten från ambulansen ger en tydlig helhetsbild av patientens vårdbehov. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att utifrån ett helhetsperspektiv belysa innehållet i överrapporteringen från ambulanssjukvården till akutsjukvården. Metod: En litteraturöversikt med systematisk ansats baserad på 15 vetenskapliga artiklar där sökningen av artiklar gjordes i databaserna PubMed och CINAHL. Artiklarna analyserades med deduktiv innehållsanalys guidad av Fundamentals of Care och kvalitetsgranskades med hjälp av SBU:s mall för kvalitetsgranskning av kvalitativa studier. Resultat: Överrapporteringen mellan ambulans och personal på akutmottagning lade stort fokus på patientens fysiska vårdbehov, som vitalparametrar och fysiska skador. Social historia överrapporterades inte alltid och när den rapporterades skedde det ostrukturerat. Patientdelaktighet i överrapporteringen kunde ses genom att patienten själv tillförde information i rapporten men personalen involverade inte alltid patienten att aktivt delta. Sjuksköterskor i ambulans försökte överföra tillit till mottagande personal på sjukhus. Slutsats: Överrapporteringen mellan ambulans och akutmottagning fokuserar till stor del på patientens fysiska vårdbehov, vilket kan försvåra en helhetsbild av patienten.
