Dahlberg, Camilla January 2009 (has links)
This study aims to find what linguistic learning can be possible during pre-school singing gatherings and so be able to examine how making music could be used as a tool in language development. To enable an examination of this phenomena, the answer to the question how children learn their colloquial speech was researched in various kinds of literature. These findings indicated that language is an extremely complex system, which could be divided into different components in order to simplify its understanding. The components of contents, form and usage will be considered in this study. These three again consist of different parts, as semantics, phonology, phonetics, syntax, morphology and pragmatics. These are all essential to language development as a whole. To be able to identify what kind of language learning would be possible to gain during musical activities, a class of pre-school pupils with their teachers was videotaped at various song gatherings. These recordings were later analysed and certain occasions and specific incidents or happenings were taken down word by word and then related to current literature on how children learn their colloquial speech. This study indicates that it might be possible learning, by means of various methods, all parts of a language, which together form this wholeness, that makes us speaking individuals. From these findings, the issue of how we as adults can use music, song activiries, as a tool in language was discussed.

A Mídia e o MST: heróis e vilões na trama do discurso jornalístico / The media and the MST: heroes and villains in the plot of journalistic discourse

Sonia Maria Ferreira 19 December 2012 (has links)
From the standpoint of the discourse, this research intends to reflect upon the media culture surrounding Brazil's Landless Peasant Movement [Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra/MST], with focus on the journalistic coverage of the newspapers Zero Hora and Folha de S.Paulo regarding the political lines and conjuncture issues presented by the Movement in its last three national gatherings (1995, 2000 and 2007), the treatment given by the media to MST and how the discursive formations in textualizations indexing news have meant ongoing tensions around the struggle for land and made the dialogue between the Movement and the society even more difficult. This work also intends to discuss the intervention of the MST in the construction of political and public agendas and the reasons why the Movement is unable to produce changes in its media portrayal. Thus, it ascertains the saturation process of the mediatic discourse (specifically in the print media) and the effects that it may produce upon society beginning with the hypothesis that the media generally operates like a political and ideological apparatus that elaborates and divulges world concepts, carrying out the task of offering orientations that influence the comprehension of social facts. Mediation means of mass communication, in general, produces a shift in public experience and at the same time shapes the possible knowledge that this experience developes on itself. We know that the ideologies found in journalistic discourses can not produce new knowledge about the world, but produce a recognition of the world as we have learned to appropriate it. We shall demonstrate that, in the current phase of capitalism (a system that demands greater value for information), ideological reproduction occurs directly through the media, with their task assignments and daily agendas. Taking under consideration the context presented in the research, this work also emphasizes two guiding lines in order to arrive at its objectives: the submission of the media to the neo-liberal hegemony and the struggle of the MST towards land reform in face of the increasing value of large-scale agribusinesses.

Bentinho, Capitu, Escobar, Dona Glória, José Dias and Ezequiel; characters from Dom Casmurro that merge to this writing to compose the present work of dissertation, whose main objective is to weave a shared reading of a classic book with students of Youth and Adult Education (YAE) of a public institution from Rio Claro / SP, by the development of the activity of Dialogic Literary Gatherings (DLG). The DLG is a collective and dialogic reading activity of the literature classics, which participants share their understandings of what was read from their reading of the world. It is a qualitative research and procedures involve the collective selection of the classic work that was read in the activity and the development of the ten meetings in the classroom for the reading of Dom Casmurro, book collectively selected. From this, the participation of the students in the TLD activity was observed, as well as the written record of the participants. All the meetings were recorded and later transcribed, and the data produced and collected were organized in thematic axes triggered from the speeches of the participants who tell us about the process of reading of poorly schooled people. We focus on the main studies of Dialogic Learning, a theoretical-methodological basis that guides the activity described here. As a result, we show the need to create dialogic environments; the potential of the dialogic reading in the school space; the value of shared reading; recognition of each student's cultural intelligence; the highlight of the oral culture in the YAE and the breaking down of walls separating people with little schooling from the classical works.

Die AGS gemeente as missionale geloofsgemeenskap: 'n deelnemende-aksienavorsingsprojek

Basson, Ernrich Frederique 06 June 2012 (has links)
D.Litt. et Phil. / Having lost its prominent position at the centre of Western society, the church currently finds itself in a post-Christian era. This position leads to a drastic loss of members (Braaten & Jenson 2002:21). Estrangement in churches therefore brings about a new dialogue regarding the identity of the congregation which constitutes the essence of its reason for being (Greenwood 2002:21 ). The identity of the congregation as a missional faith-community is indispensable to a healthy, growing congregation (Van Engen 1996:26; Frost & Hirsch 2003:15; Guder 1998:3). Theologians agree that the loss of this identity constitutes one of the main reasons for churches declining influence. This necessitates a reorientation of the true essence of being church. The changing of the times is an important factor, because it challenges the local congregation to grow towards becoming the missional faith-community that God has in mind. A missional faithcommunity is exemplified by a congregation that rethinks its essential identity and purpose for existence. This reorientation restores the local congregation's true nature to God's original plan and objective, thus enabling it to meaningfully embody the Missio Dei. It was therefore important to undertake a comprehensive literary study in order to ascertain the definition of a faith-community, how it is formed, how it is sustained and how it may demonstrate its missional purpose. This study has a dual contribution in that it presents a systematic PracticalTheological study of the essence of church and that it allows for the development of a contextual model. This model was developed and tested through a process of participative action research in the context of two AFM-congregations. The method also allowed for the formation of a measuring-instrument which will enable congregations to do self-evaluation. In the future this PracticalTheological study may form a guideline for meaningful church-development while the developed incarnation model will enable the local congregation to function as a missional faith-community.
