Auswirkungen von Wärme- und Luftschadstoffbelastungen auf vollstationäre Patientenaufnahmen und Sterbefälle im Krankenhaus während Sommermonaten in Berlin und Brandenburg

Eine klimawandelbedingte Zunahme von Wetterextremen, die Lebensbedingungen städtischer Agglomerationen, die Zunahme städtischer Bevölkerung, der demographische Wandel, die Zunahme sozioökonomischer Disparitäten und chronischer Erkrankungen erhöhen die Gesundheitsrisiken und Anforderungen an das Gesundheitswesen bereits heute und sehr wahrscheinlich in der Zukunft. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, für die Region Berlin-Brandenburg Assoziationen zwischen Wärme- und Luftschadstoffbelastungen einerseits und Patientenaufnahmen sowie Sterbefällen im Krankhaus andererseits retrospektiv für die Sommermonate Juni - September im Zeitraum 1994 - 2010 anhand von Regressionsmodellen und räumlich epidemiologischen Methoden zu analysieren. Dabei stehen Vergleiche zwischen den Bundesländern Berlin und Brandenburg sowie innerstädtische räumliche Disparitäten in Berlin im Vordergrund. In Berlin und Brandenburg nahmen die mittleren Lufttemperaturen und der mittlere Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) während der Sommermonate stetig von 1994 bis 2010 zu. Die mittleren troposphärischen Ozonkonzentrationen weisen eine hohe Variabilität von 1994 - 2010 und eine stark positive Korrelation mit den Lufttemperaturen und der Wärmebelastung auf. Die mittleren Stickstoffdioxidkonzentrationen nahmen stetig während der Sommer von 1994 - 2010 ab, und die mittleren PM10-Konzentrationen, welche erst seit 2001 in Berlin und 2003 in Brandenburg als Bundeslandmittel vorliegen, korrelieren moderat positiv mit den Lufttemperaturen sowie der Wärmebelastung und können somit, wie im heißen Sommer 2006, erhöhte Werte aufweisen. In Berlin und Brandenburg nimmt das relative Risiko für die Mortalität ab einer starken Wärmebelastung zu. Die Morbidität zeigt nur in Berlin einen Anstieg des relativen Risikos ab einer starken Wärmebelastung. Dies ist ein wichtiger Hinweis für kurzfristige Maßnahmen in der kurativen medizinischen Versorgung von Patienten. / The increase of weather extremes due to climate change, life conditions in urban agglomerations, the increase in urban population, the demographic change, the increases in socioeconomic disparities and in chronic diseases enhance health risks and demands in health care issues already today and very likely in the future. This study aims to analyse retrospectively associations between heat load and air pollution on one side and hospital admissions and in-hospital deaths on the other side for the summer months June - September from 1994 - 2010 using regression models and spatial epidemiological methods in Berlin and Brandenburg. Thereby, the analyses focus on comparisons between the federal states Berlin and Brandenburg as well as inner-city spatial disparities in Berlin. The mean summer air temperatures and the mean Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) temperatures increased continuously from 1994 till 2010. The mean tropospheric ozone concentrations during summer months varied from 1994 till 2010 and show a strong positive correlation with air temperatures and heat loads. The mean nitrogen dioxide concentrations during summer months decreased continuously from 1994 till 2010. The mean PM10 concentrations during summer months, which are available since 2001 in Berlin and 2003 in Brandenburg, show a moderate positive correlation with air temperatures and heat loads and therefore, e.g. in the hot summer 2006, increased summer means. In Berlin and Brandenburg the relative risks of mortality increased with increasing heat load. The relative risks of morbidity increased with increasing heat load only in Berlin. Thus, the differences in summer morbidity risks between Berlin and Brandenburg imply important advises for short-term health care strategies. In essence, the elderly and people with chronic diseases suffer most from heat stress. Respiratory system diseases showed strongest impacts beside cardiovascular system diseases and the total of all diseases.

Em todos os experimentos foram utilizadas coberturas com telha de fibrocimento, novas, sem cimento amianto, com 4,0mm de espessura. O Experimento 1 foi realizado na Universidade Estadual do Maranhão (UEMA), câmpus de São Luís, onde foram testados cinco tipos de coberturas: 1- sem tela, sem pintura (STSP – controle); 2- com tela a 0,05m de altura da telha, sem pintura (CT5SP); 3- com tela a 0,05m de altura da telha, com pintura (CT5CP); 4- com tela a 0,08m de altura da telha, sem pintura (CT8SP) e 5- com tela a 0,08m de altura da telha, com pintura (CT8CP). Foram determinados o Índice de Temperatura de Globo Negro e Umidade (ITGU), a Carga Térmica de Radiação (CTR) e a Entalpia Específica (H). As colheitas das variáveis meteorológicas (temperaturas de globo negro, de bulbo seco, de bulbo úmido e velocidade do vento) foram realizadas durante 12 dias experimentais (04 a 15 de nov. de 2009) às 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 e 16:00 horas. O tipo de cobertura CT5SP foi o que apresentou os melhores valores para ITGUcorr (79,81) e H (78,84 KJ.Kg-1 de ar seco). O melhor resultado para CTRcorr foi apresentado pelo tratamento CT5CP (480,12 W.m-2). O Experimento 2 foi realizado na Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), câmpus de Jaboticabal, onde foram testados os mesmos tipos de coberturas do Experimento 1. As colheitas e registro das variáveis meteorológicas foram realizadas por 40 dias (13 de fev. a 24 de mar. de 2010), nos mesmos horários do Experimento 1. O tipo cobertura que proporcionou menor resultado para o ITGU (83,86) e H (86,41 KJ.Kg-1 de ar seco) foi o CT8CP. A menor CTR (549,52 W.m-2) foi verificada na cobertura CT5CP. In all the experiments were used with roofing cement tile, new, no asbestos cement, with 4.0 mm thick. The first experiment was conducted at the Universidade Estadual do Maranhão (UEMA), campus of São Luís, where were tested five types of coverage: 1 - no shading, no paint (STSP - control), 2 - with shading 0.05 m in height tile, unpainted (CT5SP) 3 - with shading 0.05 m in height tile with painting (CT5CP) 4 - with shading 0.08 m in height tile, unpainted (CT8SP) and 5 – with shading 0.08 m height of the tile with painting (CT8CP). Were evaluated the index of black globe temperature and humidity (BGTHI), the Heat Load (HL) and the specific enthalpy (H). The readings of meteorological variables (black globe temperature, dry bulb, wet bulb temperatures and wind speed) were measured during 12 experimental days (from nov. 4th to 15th, 2009) at 10:00, 12:00, 14: 00 and 16:00 hours. The type of coverage CT5SP had the lowest values for BGTHI (79,81) and H (78,84 KJ.Kg-1 dry air). The best result for CTRcorr (480,12 W.m-2) was presented by treatment CT5CP. The second experiment was conducted at Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), campus of Jaboticabal, where were tested the same types of coverages of Experiment 1. The collection and recording of meteorological variables were performed for 40 days (from feb. 13th to 24th, 2010), at the same times of Experiment 1. The type coverage that provided smaller results for the BGTHI (83,86) and H (86,41 KJ.Kg-1 dry air) was CT8CP. The lower HL (549,52 W.m-2) was verified with the coverage CT5CP. Dissertation offers a plan for air – conditioning equipment of library building in Brno and it involves air filter experimental measurement. The proposal is divided into three parts. The first part explains air filter theory with detailed description of atmospheric air filters for separation of particles for general ventilation - filter parameter determination. Theory part ends specifically with pocket air filters and their construction. The second part focuses on experimental pocket air filter measurement execution, which calculates with variable filter cartridges and pocket count. Measurement also evaluates pressure drop and their efficiency. The last part of the dissertation looks at air – conditioning equipment design for specified building, concretely library building. The project solves fresh air traffic into interior of selected library rooms and it counts with thermal heat gain in summer season, heat loss in winter season and air humidity modification.

After calculations of the design heat load and heat requirement for heating and warming of hot service water for different types of operations the suitable heat sources are chosen. For heat sources the general design of heating is made. In the end the thesis includes economical analysis for each variant in view of investment and operating costs. The most suitable heat source is chosen from the results of analysis.

Tvorba mikroklimatu průmyslové haly s vysokými nároky na jeho rovnoměrnost / Creating a microclimate of an industrial building with high demands on its uniformity

This diploma thesis deals with the optimization of microclimate of an industrial building. There is required constant temperature with minimal fluctuations during manufacturing process in the building. Due to insufficient cooling power of air-conditioning system was objective to design a solution that ensures stability of internal temperature during production especially in summer and simultaneously should be the solution economically acceptable. Simulation shows original state defined problems. Some new or unusual materials for solar shading are reviewed in the thesis by the experimental measurements and by the comparative method. To each material is assigned shading coefficient according to Czech standards, thereby is achieved universality for calculations of heat gains resulting from solar radiation. By one part of the experiments and their evaluation is determined thickness of the standard single glass glazing. It is also determined proportional transmittance of solar radiation for certain multiwall polycarbonates, which are currently used as fillers of industrial skylights and production hall‘s window openings. From experiments resulting design is subjected to the simulation. Comparison of temperatures is shown for the time before the installation of designed solar shading and after the installation of the solar shading.

The result is a design of direct cooling system in the food factory in the variants with refrigerant R404A and R717. The work describes the advantages and disadvantages of various options. The work includes an experimental section which deals with the measure-ment and processing of the actual values of the refrigerant cycle and the comparison of two cold sources.

Miljöcertifiering av ett byggnadsminne

Samtidigt som debatten kring jordens klimatförändring är i full gång har intresset för att miljöcertifiera byggnader vuxit oerhört. För fastighetsägare är det en möjlighet att bevisa för sina hyresgäster och köpare att byggnaden är hållbar. Är en byggnad miljöcertifierad har en oberoende part intygat att den uppfyller en nivå av hållbarhet som bestäms utifrån standardiserade kriterier. Fastighetsägaren kan alltså använda certifikatet i marknadsföringssyfte. Den här studien undersökte om en byggnad som är byggnadsminnesförklarad kan miljöcertifieras med Miljöbyggnad. Målet var att hitta kostnadseffektiva lösningar för att uppfylla de miljöcertifieringskriterier som eventuellt inte uppfylls idag. Miljöbyggnad har i dagsläget inga specifika kriterier för kulturhistoriskt värdefulla byggnader, så bedömningen har skett mot de allmänna kriterierna. Vid certifiering med Miljöbyggnad sker en granskning utifrån energi-, inomhusmiljö- och materialrelaterade kriterier. Verktyget mäter alltså inte bara byggnadens hållbarhet i fråga om växthusgasutsläpp utan även i hänseende till hälsan och välbefinnandet hos personerna som vistas i byggnaden. Byggnaden som har utvärderats är Kungliga Tekniska Högskolans studenters kårhus. Den byggnadsminnesförklarades 2012 på grund av sin utpräglade och välbevarade funktionalistiska utformning. Byggd 1930 uppfördes den mitt under en brytningstid när funktionalismen var på intåg i Sverige. I studien har alla kriterier som krävs för en miljöcertifiering gåtts igenom och stämts av mot hur byggnaden ligger till idag. Särskild fokus har lagts på Miljöbyggnads energirelaterade kriterier. För att minska energianvändningen har energieffektiviseringsåtgärder tagits fram som ger en besparing på hundratusentals kronor per år. Energieffektiviseringsåtgärderna består av bättre drift av ventilationen samt byte till effektivare belysning. Energiberäkningsprogrammet DesignBuilder har använts för att utvärdera energieffektiviseringsåtgärderna samt för att simulera termisk komfort och dagsljusinsläpp. Energikällornas hållbarhet vid olika miljöval på elhandelsavtalet och om det finns möjlighet att installera solskydd för fönstren har också undersökts. Hindret för en certifiering är att byggnaden åtminstone behöver uppfylla myndighetskrav på tillgång till dagsljus. Det finns också osäkerheter som har att göra med om energieffektiviseringsåtgärderna minskar energianvändningen så mycket som krävs för en certifiering. För övrigt finns goda förutsättningar för en miljöcertifiering. / Climate change is widely discussed these days, and the interest in environmental assessment for buildings has increased enormously. For landlords and house-owners, it brings the possibility to prove to their tenants and customers that their buildings are sustainable. A building with an environmental assessment certificate is assured by an independent inspector to fulfill a certain level of sustainability that is specified by standardized criteria. The landlords can subsequently use the certificate for advertising. This study investigated if a listed historic building can be certified according to the Swedish environmental assessment method Miljöbyggnad. The objective was to find cost effective ways to meet those criteria for environmental assessment that are not fulfilled today. Miljöbyggnad has no specific set of criteria for historical buildings today, so the investigation has been performed using the general criteria. For a certification with Miljöbyggnad, an audit from energy, indoor environment and material point of view is performed. Thus, the assessment method does not only measure sustainability regarding greenhouse gas emissions, but also concerning well-being of the occupants of the building. The examined building is the student union house of the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. The building was listed in 2012 due to its pronounced and well preserved functionalistic design. Built 1930, it was raised during the time when the functionalism was introduced in Sweden. In the study, all criteria for the environmental assessment have been evaluated for the current situation of the building. The energy related criteria has been emphasized. In order to decrease the energy use, measures for improving the energy efficiency has been found, that will save several hundred thousand SEK per year. The measures consist of improved operation of the ventilation system and retrofitted lighting for better efficacy. The energy calculation program DesignBuilder has been used to evaluate the energy efficiency measures and to simulate thermal comfort and daylighting. The sustainability of the energy sources for different environmental options for the electricity contract and the possibility of installing shadings for the windows have been investigated as well. The main difficulty for a certification is that the building has to fulfill building codes for daylighting. There are also uncertainties regarding the energy efficiency measures being able to decrease the energy use sufficiently for a certification. Other than that, the prospects are good for a certification.

The diploma thesis deals with shielding elements in the theoretical, project and experimental level. The theoretical part describes the variants of building shading and compares individual shading elements. It explains several concepts from the field of environmental technology, which are related to the topic. The design part deals with the air conditioning of the showroom space with a specific indoor environment. The space has a flush facade, so it has a high heat load. This is a showroom for veterans, where it is necessary to maintain optimal constant hu-midity throughout the year. An air conditioning unit was designed for these needs. The experimental part describes the measurement of the values of the shielding factor of external blinds for individual slopes of slats. The measurement results are applied to the reference room and the dependence between the inclination of the slats and the energy demand for space cooling is evaluated by the software.

Svázání fyziologického modelu s modelem tepelného komfortu / Coupling of the Models of Human Physiology and Thermal Comfort

The thesis deals with car cabin environment and thermal comfort inside. A car cabin heat load model was developed in Dymola/Modelica to investigate influence of ambient environmental parameters. The model was validated on the data set of eight test cases measured in a climatic chamber and in a real traffic. The main objective of the thesis was to develop a human thermal comfort model suitable for non-homogenous environments and for a car cabin environment especially. The Coupled model of human physiology and thermal comfort was developed in Dymola/Modelica. The model allows predicting an overall human thermal comfort from local boundary conditions representing ambient and personal factors. The model was validated by 16 test cases taken from experiments in literature. Moreover three test cases were created in Theseus-FE to consider an asymmetrical heat load from Sun rays inside a car cabin. Prediction of the Coupled model was compared with Fiala model and experimental data. The Coupled model predicted mean skin temperature for moderate activities in neutral and warm environment well. In cold environment a predicted core temperature was very affected by ambient temperature and during high activity exercises, the predicted mean skin temperature was too high.
