The Instructional Design Dispositions & Expertise Index: Development & Pre-Pilot

Katherine J. Chartier (9754739) 14 December 2020 (has links)
For many years, scholars haveinvestigated instructional design expertise anddescribed the difficulty definingit. A lack of a clear definition, inclusive of primary components, poses a measurement problemfor those seeking to evaluate the development of expertise. An overarching aim of this study is to gather evidence to support a definition of instructional designexpertise(IDE)which includes knowledge, skills, and dispositions. Instructional design dispositions have not received muchattention, but dispositions (e.g., adaptability, flexibility)are often described as distinguishing traits of expertdesigners. ExistingID competency instrumentsevaluatethe perceived importance of knowledge and skills butare limited in trackingdevelopment past competency. They also do not adequately considerdispositions. The purpose of this research was to describe the development of the Instructional Design Dispositions and Expertise Index. Instrument development procedures includeditem generation, expert review, think-aloud sessions, and a small-scale item tryout. Over 200 designers agreedknowledge, skills, and dispositions are important components of expertise. Qualitative data corroboratedquantitativefindingsfurther illuminatinga relationship between these componentsand quality instructional design. Initial evidence of content and construct validity for the instrument isestablished. A validated expertise instrument wouldallow us to more fully understand and evaluate expertiseand its development, whichcould inspire innovation ininstructional design research, theory, and practice.<br>

Eighteenth-Century French Oboes: A Comparative Study

Cleveland, Susannah, 1972- 05 1900 (has links)
The oboe, which first came into being in the middle of the seventeenth century in France, underwent a number of changes throughout the following century. French instruments were influenced both by local practices and by the introduction of influences from other parts of Europe. The background of the makers of these instruments as well as the physical properties of the oboes help to illuminate the development of the instrument during this period. The examination of measurements, technical drawings, photographs, and biographical data clarify the development and dissemination of practices in oboe building throughout eighteenth-century France. This clarification provides new insight into a critical period of oboe development which has hitherto not been exclusively addressed.

Determining the construct validity of the safety survey instrument

Windbacher, Maritza 20 February 2012 (has links)
Safety interventions must be approached in a holistic manner, by taking cognisance of the organisational system in which accidents present themselves. Thus, a need to understand the individual in context of the organisational system that he/she functions in exists. This study focuses on the relationship between attitudes, beliefs, intention, perception, control and the propensity of employees to engage in unsafe behaviour, with a view towards improving safety statistics. In this regard the study investigated the construct validity of a Safety Survey instrument, based on the responses (n=450) of employees in the mining industry. An Exploratory Factor Analysis showed that the Safety Survey instrument differentiated between two to three underlying factors. The result of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis tested two models by demonstrating the minimum requirements of the goodness of fit indexes. The construct validity of the Safety Survey instrument could be established for two nested models that identified an internal and external locus of control factor. The statistical evidence indicated an acceptable model fit. The statistical evidence validated the construct validity of the measurement model. Copyright 2008, University of Pretoria. The Practice of Content-Driven Composition for Instrument and Computer

Shen, Qi 05 1900 (has links)
Two compositions, live electronic music for instrument and computer, have been analyzed in the essay to reflect one of my aesthetics principles, content-driven composition, and the solutions that the I have applied to solve the problems which have occurred in practice. By content-driven, I mean that compositional process, material, mood, and affect are expressions of content drawn from visual art, literature, nature, religion, traditional aesthetics and other non-musical sources. During the journey of exploration, I was often deeply moved and inspired by a historical moment, a real-world story, a film, a poem, a statement, an image, a piece of music, or a natural law. In content-driven works, these elements play a major role in the creative processes.

En studie av börshandlade investeringsprodukter :

Makomaski, Kristofer January 2011 (has links)

Nepřímé pachatelství / The indirect perpetration

Havel, Lukáš January 2021 (has links)
The indirect perpetration Abstract The indirect perpetration consists in the commission of a crime through another person who is not criminally responsible. In case of indirect perpetration, such a person is being misused by the indirect perpetrator as a ‚living instrument' to actually carry out the criminal act. Without the institution of indirect perpetration, it would not be possible to punish an indirect perpetrator in some cases. In dualistic systems, this legal institution seems necessary as it fills the gap generated by the principle of accessory participation and helps to overcome certain difficulties that arise from the application of criminal law in dualistic systems. Indirect perpetration is hence often indicated as a supplement to the principle of accessory participation. The aim of this diploma thesis is a detailed description of the indirect perpetration. This is also accomplished through the analysis of its historical development and the comparison of selected foreign legal systems. The work is divided into three thematic parts. The first part is devoted to the historical development of the indirect perpetration. Individual subchapters are also supplemented by relevant case law pertaining to the topic. The second part of the diploma thesis is devoted to the current concept of indirect...

Hydrogen gas-in-oil on-line monitor for high voltage current transformers.

Van Deventer, M. J. January 1991 (has links)
A dissertation submitted to the Faculty of Engineering, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Engineering / The sudden failure of oil paper-insulated current transformers has become a problem of considerable concern due to the cost of the resulting destruction, and danger to personnel. The aim of the dissertation is to determine the most suitable method of detecting incipient faults in current transformers, test this method on an experimental current transformer, and finally implement this technique in a low cost on-line monitor. A literature survey indicated that hydrogen gas-in-oil on-line monitoring would be the most suitable technique.(Abbreviation abstract) / Andrew Chakane 2019

No Such Array : Developing a material and practice for electronic music performance

Chantler, John January 2021 (has links)
I have been designing and building a set of battery powered hybrid synthesizer speaker objects that can be deployed in any location without the need for any additional infrastructure. Composing for and performing with the resulting system has become the focus of my artistic practice. This project brings together my interests in composition, design, synthesis, politics and performance to investigate new methods for performing and experiencing electronic music. The work takes the idea of the impossibility of an objective listener as its starting position and generates environments that give agency to the listener to create their own sonic experience of a given space. It also engages in questions of power and how this practice might work throughits entanglement in various power relations as a minor practice by introducing and opening up the conditions of possibility for other actions. This thesis traces the aesthetic roots of my undertaking in the work of others, including Okkyung Lee, Rie Nakajima, Tetsuya Umeda, Marginal Consort, Tony Conrad and Luc Ferrari. It also details my own experience creating work for the GRM's Acous- monium, the series of decisions made in creating my own alternative speaker orchestra, and the practical process of situated learning2 that I have undertaken to develop a performance practice via three stagings: at Röda Sten Konsthall in Göteborg, within a pedestrian underpass running below the E4 national highway, and at Järvafältet Nature Reserve, north of Stockholm.
