This thesis aims to investigate how three public libraries are working and perceive their role located in a municipality with a Sami population. The Sami population is one of Sweden's five minorities and a recognized indigenous people which gives them certain rights according to the minority law. Qualitative interviews are used as a method to gain a deeper understanding of how librarians and Sami coordinator discusses their work with the Sami people. The theoretical framework was based on Jochumsen, Hvenegaard Rasmussen and Skot-Hansen's "The four space" model (2012), which describe the library as a meeting space, inspiration space, learning space and performative space. The analysis shows that three of the four spaces, based on theoretical framework was dominant, and that was learning space, inspiration space and meeting space on the concept of the librarian and Sami coordinators view of the library as a public space.Respondents view the library as a public space where the Sami culture can be seen in cooperation with the Sami coordinator. Librarians highlights a couple obstacles in their work with the Sami people, and that was: lack of resources, language skills, no demand for library resources and geographical distances.

Um dos mecanismos utilizados para economizar combustível numa transferência completa de um veículo espacial em órbita da Terra para uma órbita em torno da Lua, é o fenômeno de captura gravitacional temporária. Nesse trabalho é feita a análise numérica de diversas trajetórias em torno da Lua, considerando-se as dinâmicas de três e quatro corpos, com o objetivo de estudar o fenômeno da captura gravitacional temporária, através do monitoramento do sinal da energia relativa de dois corpos partícula-Lua e das componentes radiais das forças gravitacionais da Terra, da Lua e do Sol. Através desses estudos também foram obtidos diversos mapas de escape e colisão, considerando-se os movimentos prógrado e retrógrado. / With the launch of the first artificial satellite of the Earth, Sputnik I, arose the necessity of the development of the satellites more efficient and more economic. One of the mechanisms used to save fuel in a complete transference of one spacecraft in orbit of the Earth to an orbit around the Moon, is the phenomena of the temporary gravitational capture. In this paper is made the numerical analysis of the several trajectories around the Moon, considering the dynamics of the three and four-bodies, with the objective of studying the phenomena of temporary gravitational capture, through monitoring the sign of the relative two-body energy particle-Moon and the radial component of the force of attraction, gravitational of the Earth, of the Moon and of the Sun. Though of these studies also were obtained several maps of the escape and collision, considering the prograde and retrograde movements.

Method evaluation : Electrical surface resistance measurements on coated conductive textilesWisung, Grete January 2018 (has links)
This thesis has evaluated how electrical surface resistance can be measured on conductive coated textiles using two different probes. The electrical surface resistance is a measurement for how difficult it is for current to flow through a material. For textiles, the surface resistance can be measured using four metallic plates, that measure the difference between current supply and voltage drop, this method is called a linear four-point probe. There is no standard method for measuring the electrical surface resistance on conductive textiles. Therefore, it is not possible to compare textiles made by different producers. It is also not possible to decide what the true resistance is and as conductive textiles are becoming more popular to use, this has started to become a problem in the industry. Two probes with electrodes of different dimensions were used to evaluate how different electrodes would affect the measured resistance. Measurements were conducted on conductive coated textiles with varying parameters, like coating thickness, sample size and textile construction, to show how the electrical resistance properties differ depending on what probe was used. It was found that in contrast to other research on conductive textiles and collinear four-point probes, the probes used in this study could detect electrical anisotropic properties. The resistance was different depending on what angle it was measured in. This was found for both a thicker coating and a thinner one. It was also found that the probes could detect a correlation between the angular resistance and the textile construction used. By measuring the resistance on small samples with the same dimension as the probes electrodes, the resistance was increased compared to when measurements were conducted on samples with dimensions significantly larger than the probes. Furthermore, the results showed that increasing the distance between the inner electrodes of the probe decreased the measured resistance for both large and small samples. Additionally, it was found that by increasing the width of the outer electrodes the resistance was decreased, an increase in outer electrode width also made it easier to detect electrical anisotropic properties.

The rural libraries have a different context then the libraries in a more urban setting and therefore have a different way to organize and plan their activities. The aim of this bachelors thesis is to examine how librarians at libraries in the rural settings experience their activities and their role in the community. To acquire this information two questions are raised; “How are the activities at rural libraries described by the librarians?” and “How do the librarians view the libraries role in a rural setting?”. Answers to these questions will be achieved through semi-structured interviews, and their answers will be analysed with the use of the Four Spaces model. Four spaces is a model for viewing the activities in a library, and their goals. The collected data is then to be categorized according to four different terms: meetings, children and young adults, more personal service and challenges for a rural library. Many of the respondents expresses the use of the library as a meeting place and the important role that the libraries play in a small community in many different ways. One of the problems with working at a smaller library according to the librarians is that they have to prove to the management that their work is important, even in the smaller, rural settings.

Nesse estudo foi realizado uma análise comparativa das possíveis sobretensões ocorridas nos domínios da frequência e do tempo entre os sistemas de transmissão trifásico e tetrafásico, avaliando as características elétricas e as respostas transitórias eletromagnética e impulsiva, mostrando novas vantagens sobre esta tecnologia, fornecendo uma avaliação completa sobre o tema / Among the many alternative technologies developed over the past decades, seeking to increase the effectiveness of conventional techniques or proposing new non-conventional techniques in the transmission of electricity over long distances and places of difficult access, the proposed study presents some concepts and features to transmission systems that are constituted of four generic phases. The four-phase transmission system has been subject of numerous studies and applications in some countries in Europe and Asia, presenting some advantages compared to the conventional three-phase transmission system. This system can be easily integrated into the three-phase system through transformers, thoroughly approached by several bibliographical references. In this study was made a comparative analysis of the possible overvoltages that occurred in the areas of frequency and time between the transmission systems of three-phase and four-phase, evaluating the electrical characteristics and the transient answers, electromagnetic and impulsive, showing new advantages over this technology, providing a complete evaluation of this issue

O emaranhamento é uma propriedade intrinsecamente quântica, que pode ser empregada em protocolos de comunicação quântica de informação, como criptografia quântica e teletransporte, e um recurso importante no processamento quântico de informação, visando a implementação de algoritmos mais eficientes que os atualmente empregados, de uso limitado em problemas ditos insolúveis, nos quais, as etapas de processamento crescem exponencialmente com o tamanho dos dados de entrada. O Processo de Mistura de Quatro Ondas [4WM: Four Wave Mixing] na configuração duplo- em vapor de Rubídio tem-se mostrado como uma fonte robusta de estados fortemente emaranhados [Boyer et al., 2008b]. No presente trabalho é caracterizado o ganho paramétrico G dos campos Stokes e anti-Stokes no processo de 4WM associado à linha D 1 do Rubídio. Os parâmetros estudados foram a dessintonia do campo de bombeio , sua intensidade I B e a temperatura da célula de Rubídio T Rb . Além da caracterização do ganho, estudaram-se também a absorção eletromagneticamente induzida e as intensidades dos feixes conjugados. Obtiveram-se ganhos de até 450% ajustáveis via sintonização destes parâmetros. Os elevados ganhos em meios atômicos permitem geração de emaranhamento sem uso de cavidade e aceitam operação multimodo. Consequentemente podem ser usados na realização de medidas ultraprecisas e ensejam a possibilidade de explorar regimes até agora inatingíveis pelos Osciladores Paramétricos Óticos [OPO] baseados em cristais (nos quais os ganhos são da ordem de 4%). O OPO tem sido estudado em situações acima ou abaixo do limiar, mas na transição rareiam resultados experimentais. Os resultados obtidos foram comparados com a literatura, e o próximo passo é usá-los em cavidades abertas para construir um OPO que seja facilmente operado acima ou abaixo do limiar, e estudar o limite entre vácuo enmaranhado e feixes intensos. Espera-se observar estados emaranhados não gaussianos gerados neste sistema e estudar suas aplicações em processamento de informação com variáveis contínuas da luz. / Entanglement is an intrinsically quantum property that can be used in quantum communication protocols, such as quantum cryptography and teleportation. It is a basic piece for quantum information processing, aiming at the implementation of more efficient algorithms than those currently used. These new algorithms are important to attack the so called nonsolvable problems, in which, the processing steps grow exponentially with the size of the input data. On the other hand, the Four Wave Mixing Process in the double- level configuration in Rubidium vapor has been shown to be a robust source of strongly entangled fields [Boyer et al., 2008b]. In the present work the parametric gain G of the Stokes and anti-Stokes fields in the 4WM process associated with the D 1 line of Rubidium is characterized. The parameters studied were the detuning and intensity I B of the pumping field and the temperature of the Rubidium cell T Rb. Besides the gain characterization, the electromagnetically induced absorption and the intensities of the conjugated fields were also studied. Adjustable gains up to 450% were achieved via the tuning of those parameters. The high gains in atomic media allow the generation of entanglement without cavity, and permit multi-mode operation. Therefore, they can be used to carry out ultra-precise measurements and allow the possibility of exploring schemes hitherto unattainable by crystal-based Optical Parametric Oscillators (OPO) (with gains of 4 %). The OPO has been studied in situations above or below the threshold, but in the transition experimental results are rare. The results we obtained were compared with literature, and the next step is to use them in open cavities to construct an OPO that can be easily operated above or below the threshold, and to study the boundary between entangled vacuum and intense beams. In this system, it is expected to be observed non-Gaussian entangled states, and to be able to study its applications in information processing with continuous variables states of light.
