Os resultados desta pesquisa permitem concluir que a malha principal do Estado é redundante, não havendo a perda sistêmica da estabilidade de tensão para cenários de contingências simples / Abstract: This work investigates the security level of the transmission network of the State of São Paulo with respect to the occurrence of voltage collapse. A number of credible scenarios including base cases (N-0) and single contingency (N-1) cases are considered. PV curve methods are employed for evaluating the voltage stability margin for the selected set of operative scenarios. However, these methods do not provide the identification of critical buses or areas from the perspective of voltage stability, which represent the best options for the application of reinforcement/corrective measures against the instability problem. The modal analysis technique is applied for the identification of critical areas with respect to voltage instability, allowing the selection of the areas of the grid that request special attention. The modal analysis method also provide the means of quantifying the impact area of the contingencies captured through the PV curve method, providing a way of separating a set of credible contingencies into three groups as far as their impact: branch-wide contingencies, area-wide contingencies and system-wide contingencies. The results of this research leads to the conclusion that the main transmission network of the State of São Paulo is redundant, since no cases occurred of systemic loss of voltage stability due to single contingencies / Mestrado / Energia Eletrica / Mestre em Engenharia Elétrica

Paiva, Guilherme Orelli, 1987- 22 August 2018 (has links)
Orientador: José Maria Campos dos Santos / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Engenharia Mecânica / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-22T11:33:43Z (GMT). Finalmente, os resultados obtidos pelos métodos numéricos e experimentais são comparados e discutidos / Abstract: An important aspect of musical acoustics research is to identify the relationship of measurable physical properties of a musical instrument with the subjective evaluation of their sound quality or tone. Therefore, for musical instruments including resonance box, it is important to develop analytical or numerical methods to predict accurately its vibroacoustic behavior. These methods will enable the determination of key parameters that can be used to control the tone and sound quality. This work uses theoretical modal analysis with finite element method (FEM) to determine the dynamic behavior of a Brazilian guitar resonance box in terms of natural frequency and mode shapes. At first, is presented a simplified model that neglects the internal structures of reinforcement (struts, ribs, brackets, etc.), but adopts the main dimensions of a real Brazilian guitar. Then the same model was expanded with the addition of the internal reinforcements, but with approximate dimensions yet. Finally, the third model was designed regarding the dimensions of a real Brazilian guitar and their internal reinforcements. Experimental procedures were also performed to verify the capabilities and limitations of the computational method employed. The results obtained by numerical and experimental methods are compared and discussed / Mestrado / Mecanica dos Sólidos e Projeto Mecanico / Mestre em Engenharia Mecânica

Otimização de forma de placas para o posicionamento de frequências naturais: resultados numéricos e experimentais / Shape optimization of plates for natural frequencies placement from coarse grid results

Eduardo Bandeira Moreira Rueda Germano 07 October 2011 (has links)
The design of structures and machines must consider the restrictions imposed by the boundary conditions. Such conditions can be of dynamic nature, thus limiting the frequency ranges that the structure/machine can operate. Among the different design tools available for dealing with dynamics restrictions, shape optimization is an interesting way of deviating natural frequencies from problematic ranges. In this work, one presents the shape optimization of a cantilever plate aiming at desired natural frequencies. A 4x5 elements grid finite element model is correlated to results from experimental modal analysis, and the optimization is done with help of Nastran software. After machining the plate with optimized thickness, good agreement is achieved between experimental and numerically predicted results. Despite successful results, machining the plate in 4x5 discrete elements with individual (stepped) thickness showed to be cumbersome. It is more appropriated to machine a smooth surface on the plate with known geometry. For that, finer grid element models are necessary in the optimization procedure, and such amount of design variables not always converge to a solution. In fact, a model with 48x60 elements for the plate in study did not converge to a solution for the same target frequencies. The main contribution of this work is showing that an interpolation (linear or cubic) of the coarser grid shape optimization results leads to the solution of a finer grid optimization problem. In other words, it is possible to obtain the smooth surface geometry that optimizes natural frequencies in plates from coarser grid finite element models, thus not requiring fine grid models and high computational costs.

[pt] ANÁLISE DINÂMICA DE TRELIÇAS E PÓRTICOS TRIDIMENSIONAIS USANDO UMA TÉCNICA AVANÇADA DE SUPERPOSIÇÃO MODAL / [en] DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF SPACE TRUSSES AND FRAMES USING AN ADVANCED MODE SUPERPOSITION TECHNIQUE

09 December 2021 (has links)
[en] The hybrid finite element method, proposed by Pian on the basis of the Hellinger-Reissner potential, has proved itself a conceptual breakthrough among the discretization formulations. A proposition made by Przemieniecki – for the generalized free vibration analysis of truss and beam elements – was incorporated into the hybrid finite/boundary element method developed by Dumont and extended to the analysis of time-dependent problems by making use of an advanced mode superposition procedure that is based on a nonlinear eigenvalue analysis and adequately takes into account general initial conditions as well as general body actions. This work presents all the features of the formulation as applied to frame structures and assesses several examples available in the technical literature to show that remarkable improvements may be achieved – and actually should be taken into account – with the proposed formulation when compared to the classical structural dynamics.

Experimentální stanovení vlivu kapaliny na kmitající těleso / Experimental determination of the liquid influence on an oscillating body

Grešáková, Kristýna January 2018 (has links)
Damping and natural frequency of a vibrating body or a system is not easy to estimate during the design phase of~project. If the body is submerged in water, estimating becomes even more complicated. This~work focuses on experimental determination of the liquid influence on an oscillating body. The~presented modal analysis was executed on two bodies when being surrounded by air, but~also when gradually and fully submerged in water using two reservoirs with different dimensions. The collected data was analyzed with a suggested hybrid method, which determined the damping ratio and the natural frequency. Added mass was calculated employing the Ansys software. Part of the presented work focuses on the selection of a suitable time window for the Fourier transform.

Ověření vlivu geometrie na dynamické vlastnosti ponořeného tělesa / Verification of geometry influence on dynamic properties of immersed body

Černý, Tomáš January 2019 (has links)
Immersion of the body into the fluid creates additional effects which must be considered when designing the machines. Additional effects from the fluid influence the dynamic properties of the body. In this work the decrease of the natural frequency and the increase of the damping ratio during the gradual immersion of the body into the fluid are investigated. Diploma thesis is based on an experiment, which is performed on a series of flat strip steel components of various widths. The first three bending and first three torsion shapes of the free-hanging body are examined. Emphasis is placed on the influence of part width. In the next phase of the experiment, the influence of the proximity of the solid wall to the dynamic properties of the cantilever beam is examined. Further, the determination of the added density from the fluid is performed by modal analysis using the ANSYS software.
