A study on planning model and management strategy in Taiwan wetland park¡GChia-Yi City waterfront Wetland Park as the CaseChang-Chien, Lung-chin 06 September 2004 (has links)
Wetland park is developed and beginning revitalized in the field of the park and green land, there are more and more trends particularly to apply to the coastal area of the west of our country, seeing that the expectation that the land uses is ardent , a lot of planning units and undertook business are beginning to be exposed to such a new park concept gradually, But to originally storing in the production of the economic worth and activity in the wetland is not clear and bright, so that the deviation
promptly in the initial stage of planning , and the collection of the environment data does not really perfect, soon careless entry the detail design, or construct directly. How to take the rational planning procedure and overall self-criticism of wetland under the situation of different in unit's technological quality of planning, it is undoubtedly a topic that is worth studying!
The planning way and quality of the wetland park in Taiwan are different, and the goal is inconsistent, the local government organization and planning units play important roles on wetland park decision making, and often have great influence in the final planning achievement. However, whether members of the leading wetland
park project have a professional background or master in the relevant field? For wetland ecology, planning and design, land suitable are analysis, even is people's
demand considered? And how to operate integrated land planning and management, I'm afraid that also remains to be discussed. So, with the collection of the wetland
park cases, and find out about the characteristic of the domestic wetland environment, including the natural and humane condition discussion, and preliminary draw up a set
of planning factors of wetlands park, it is eight module groups altogether, to go deep into the environmental topic , ecological spatial distribution, research of planning methods, the investigation of historical changes, self-criticism of the application aspect, tools using, theory and in the understanding of community participation, in order to adjust the direction of wetland park planning further , let the wetland park have rationality even more. The planning module groups of the wetland park is probing into how rational the planning content of wetland park, This text takes river bank park of area in Xingren of Chia-yi city as an example, use overlap analysis and module groups to probe into the rationality of its planning content, finally put forward the integrated management strategies for the reference in the follow-up management operation. But does not judge the quality of the park according to that, expect that can give consideration to the human demand and bio-diversity conservation in the planning of the wetland park in the future.

Parallel Operation of Battery Power ModulesNg, Kong-Soon 14 June 2005 (has links)
Operating batteries in parallel is attempted to overcome the problems with conventionally used battery bank, in which batteries are connected in series. The problems and the management with the operation of serial connected batteries are first addressed. The related topics to the parallel configuration are reviewed. Then, the parallel configuration with battery power modules is proposed. The battery power module can be realized with different dc-to-dc converters for different applications.
When batteries are charged in parallel, the problem of over-charge can be avoided. With parallel operation, the discharging currents of the batteries are independently controlled but are coordinated to execute a full amount load current. This allows for scheduling the discharging profiles under different operating conditions. As a result, a sophisticated discharging profile can be realized to utilize the available stored energy in batteries. On the other hand, some of the batteries may take rest or be isolated from the system for the detections at a time. This facilitates the estimations of the state of charge (SOC) and the state of health (SOH). Moreover, the completely exhausted or damaged batteries can be isolated from the battery power supply bank without interrupting the system operation.
Experiments are carried out on battery power modules with lead-acid batteries incorporating with associated buck-boost converters. The experimental results demonstrate that a more efficient utilization of battery energy can be achieved. On the other hand, a more reasonable management can be done with simple estimation methods of the SOC and the SOH.

Fabrication and Characterization of the Fiber Component in Laser Module PackagingLiu, Jui-hung 26 June 2006 (has links)
Optical transceiver module plays an important role in the optical communication system. The packaging quality of the module decides the ability of the communication. Since the light signal is transferred from a laser diode to an optical fiber, the light transfer efficiency between these two components becomes a very important work to be done. The micrometer dimension and the ultra-high performance requirement of these components lead to many problems in module packaging process. Among all the problems, the packaging of the fiber components is the most complicated. In this research, many key technologies are proposed to solve or improve the problems in the packaging of the fiber components. Thus, the performance of the module can be ensured. Two main topics of the fiber component packaging will be introduced here, the fiber-solder-ferrule (FSF) packaging and the machining of the fiber.
In the packaging of the FSF, a positioning and a soldering technology are proposed to improve the packaging yield. For the positioning, a novel control strategy is constructed to shorten the positioning time and improve the positioning accuracy. Thus, the position of the fiber can be positioned at the center of the ferrule fast and precisely. The controller successfully completes the positioning command in 0.25sec with 1µm accuracy. And finally, the coupling efficiency can be hold. For the soldering of the FSF, an active soldering mechanism is developed to replace the passive manual operation. The mechanism successfully proofs the stability of the soldering and raises the yield from the 25% to 83%.
In machining of the fiber, a fiber end polishing issue and a fiber inspection topic are addressed. For the fiber end polishing, an online force sensing mechanism is implemented. The force sensing mechanism can control the polished fiber tip offset within 1.5µm. So the fiber coupling efficiency can be maintained. A control strategy is designed to solve the polishing problems and reach the polishing requirement. At last, an interference-based fiber inspection method is proposed to find the splicing plane between two spliced fibers. The accuracy of the fiber cleaving in a cascaded fiber fabrication improves from 10µm to 1µm by observing the fiber splicing plane precisely.
All the improvements of the above packaging technologies are proposed to raise or keep the performance of the transceiver module. So, the error between theories and experiments can be minimized. Meanwhile, a high stability and repeatability of the packaging can be achieved due to the automation of the positioning, force sensing, and inspection.

The Exploratory Research of Experiential Marketing for Female Consumers--- A Case Study of Mary Kay Cosmetics IncHo, Kuang-Ting 13 September 2006 (has links)
Due to the competition in the market and the challenge of the products of the other brands in the different sales channels, the traditional marketing strategy has gradually lost the attraction of customers and develop accordingly many new methods of marketing. Among them , the experiential marketing has been to attach broadly importance to discuss by industries in these days, such as Starbucks coffee shop. The experiential marketing switches the emphasis on the functionality and effectiveness to creations of the consumption process among perception, emotion, cerebration, action and relations. And so the best way for corporations is to develop the methods of marketing with being moved to customers at the moment. The major consumers of direct selling industry in Taiwan is women, so the objective of this study is Mary Kay Cosmetics Inc which is focus on female consumers. And based on the strategic experiential module evolved by Schmitt. To apply the five dimensions of sense, feel, think, act, relate to research the acceptance of consumers for the marketing ways and to explore whether these dimensions affect consumer¡¦s behavior with the combination of literature review, in depth interviews and content analysis as well. Findings suggest that these five dimensions affect the consumer¡¦s behavior and the impact of feel plays the most important roll of all. And the marketing of act and relates are important because of involving in interpersonal relationship and community operation. Mary Kay and the other companies in direct selling industry what are focus on the sales channel of distributors may refer to this model to induce the consumption of consumers.

Componentization in Linux kernel¡Gapproach and toolsFan, Shu-ming 18 July 2007 (has links)
In this thesis, we studied a component-based software design for componentizing Linux kernel. Our goal is to componentize kernel modules and explicitly define the dependency relation of components in the kernel. Componentization can greatly improve composability, evolvability, extensibility and testability of a software system, and can thus increase the productivity of software development and reduce the cost of maintenance. On top of the componentized kernel, we developed a suite of tools to facilitate the operations on kernel components.
In the component-based design, the basic software unit is a component. We envision any subsystem in kernel as a composition of components. To realize the concept, we explicitly create the output ports by augmenting the symbol table of a kernel module to record the relocation information, i.e., the locations where the module invokes the functions exported by other modules. We developed tools to discover the data passing among components such that the dependency relation among components can be clearly disclosed. With componentization in place, we are able to implement the hot-swapping technique which allows the system structure to be dynamically changed at run time. The technique makes it possible to test, swap or re-compose components when part of the system cannot be terminated or removed.
The proposed system is implemented on Linux kernel 2.6.17.1. While our componentization does not introduce any time overhead when modules are in action, we evaluated our approach in terms of module loading time, memory consumption and hot-swapping time. We found that the module loading time and memory consumption of a componentized module are both proportional to the number of relocations in the module. The hot-swapping time is related to the position of the symbol to be swapped in the symbol table. All these suggest that we still have room to improve the way we realized the componentization in Linux kernel.

Design And Implementation Of An Open Security Architecture For A Software-based Security ModuleKaynar, Kaan 01 May 2009 (has links) (PDF)
Main purpose of this thesis work is to design a comprehensive and open security architecture whose desired parts could be realized on a general-purpose embedded computer without any special cryptography hardware. The architecture provides security mechanisms that implement known cryptography techniques, operations of some famous network security protocols and appropriate system security methods. Consequently, a server machine may offload a substantial part of its security processing tasks to an embedded computer realizing the architecture. The mechanisms provided can be accessed by a server machine using a client-side API and via a secure protocol which provides message integrity and peer authentication. To demonstrate the practicability of the security architecture, a set of its security mechanisms was realized on an embedded PC/104-plus computer. A server machine was connected to and requested mechanisms from the embedded
computer over the Ethernet network interface. Four types of performance parameters were measured. They are / number of executions of a symmetric encryption method by the embedded computer per second, number of executions of a public-key signing method by the embedded computer per second, footprint
of the implementation on the embedded computer memory, and the embedded computer CPU power utilized by the implementation. Apart from various security mechanisms and the secure protocol via which they can be accessed, the architecture defines a reliable software-based method for protection and storage of secret information belonging to clients.

A Balance Circuit Employing Transformers with Serial Primary Windings for Multiple Cold Cathode Fluorescent LampsHuang, Chao-ming 11 September 2007 (has links)
For a back-light module with multiple cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) in mid-size or large size liquid crystal displays, a balance scheme must be included to have approximately equal currents among the lamps and hence to output equal brightness. In this thesis, a half-bridge inverter is adopted to drive multiple step-up transformers with the same turn ratio, in which the primary windings of the transformers are connected in series whereas the second windings drive CCFLs in parallel. Due to the series connection of the transformer sets, the current going through the primary windings is identical, so that the lamp currents from second windings tend to be equal.
A driver circuit with the proposed scheme is designed for 8 U-type cold cathode fluorescent lamps in a 32-inch backlight module. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the balance scheme, even for the lamps operating at low current.

A New Design of Light Guide Plate on the Elimination of Dark Region Phenomenon for Backlight ModuleHsu, Wei-Tsung 22 July 2008 (has links)
Liquid crystal display (LCD) has been widely used as an important human interface with typical portable devices such as notebook-type computers, digital camera and cell phones, etc. The LCD panel does not emit light spontaneously, and thus it needs a surface backlight source. The function of light guide plate (LGP) was to guide light from a light source and radiates it homogeneously from all over its output surface. In this thesis, the research object was focused on this optical component.
This thesis mainly concludes two major parts. The first part focused on the design of cold fluorescent lamp (CCFL) light source LGP. If the bottom structure of the LGP in a backlight module was made up of V-Cut micro-structures, then conventionally, the shape and spacing between any two adjacent columns of micro-structure should be designed specifically in order to obtain a more uniform illuminance distribution. It was required to apply complicated mathematics and cost a lot of time to design. In this study, a simplified bottom structure of the LGP was proposed. The considered bottom structure of the LGP was proposed to be made up of same shape high energy V-Cut micro-structures, and the spacing between any two adjacent columns of the micro-structure was also the same. The design parameters were determined by using optimization technique. Also, the LCD design time could be reduced. In order to eliminate the dark region phenomenon caused by the proposed simplified bottom structure of the LGP, a simple new type of edge structure of the LGP was proposed also. The proposed simplified LGP design concepy has many merits, such as only three design parameters needed, manufacturing easily, the design time can be reduced, and can prevent the consumption of light source energy between the gaps of CCFL and LGP. The proposed design concept was applied on the design of 7 inches, 15 inches and 20 inches of backlight module (BLM). Through the numerical simulation by utilizing commercial software Light Tools, it can be shown that more than 80% of uniformity can be easily obtained.
The second part focused on traditional dot pattern bottom structures. As the same concept mentioned in the first part, the proposed dot pattern was made up of same geometrival shape of dots, and the spacing between any two adjacent columns of the dots was also the same. The design parameters were determined by using optimization technique. The
proposed design concept of the dot patten distribution can be applied on the design of LGP with either LED or CCFL light source. Also, the dark phenomenon did not occur, and so the corresponding edge structure did not need either. The proposed design concept was applied on the design of 7 inches, 15 inches and 20 inches of BLM with CCFL light source and on the design of 7 inches of BLM with LED light sources. The optical simulation results showed that about 90% of uniformity can be easily obtained.
