L’alcool est un thème majeur de l’œuvre de Marguerite Duras. L’objectif de notre recherche est d’en déterminer les enjeux sur les plans de l’histoire, de l’imaginaire et de la lecture. La première partie est consacrée à la place et au rôle de l’alcool dans la diégèse. Nous examinons l’alcool durassien dans son rapport à l’espace, au temps et aux personnages. La deuxième partie aborde le caractère ambivalent de l’alcool durassien sous l’angle des pulsions. Nous cherchons en particulier à mettre au jour les rapports complexes que l’alcool entretient avec la destruction et avec la création (y compris littéraire) dans l’imaginaire de l’auteur. La troisième partie est consacrée à la « lecture de l’alcool ». Il s’agit avant tout d’analyser les modalités de la réception de ce thème par le lecteur. Cela nous amène, pour finir, à émettre l’hypothèse que la lecture du texte durassien serait en fait une « lecture ivre », c’est-à-dire une expérience qui provoquerait, chez le lecteur réel, des effets comparables à ceux que l’alcool produit chez les personnages de fiction. / Alcohol is a major theme in the works of Marguerite Duras. The aim of this research is to study Durassian alcohol from the point of view of the story, the imagination and the reading. The first part outlines the place and the role of alcohol in the diegesis. We examine Durassian alcohol in view of its relationship with space, time, and characters. The second part tackles the ambivalent nature of Durassian alcohol from the angle of fantasy. In particular, we seek to highlight the complex relationship that alcohol has with destruction and creation (including literary creation) in the author’s imagination. The third part focuses on the “reading of alcohol”. It mostly aims to analyse the ways in which this theme is received by the reader. Finally, this leads us to make the assumption that the reading of the Durassian text is indeed a “drunk reading”, that is to say, an experience which generates, in the real reader, similar effects to those alcohol causes in the fictional characters.

Si hubiéramos elegido en esta oportunidad cualquier tema que no incluyera en su esencia a dicha escritora, hubiera significado ser deshonestos con nosotros mismos. Es desde el año 1984 que, movidos por una identificación con autora y obra, centramos nuestras investigaciones alrededor del mundo “durasien”. Así, será después de la Pre-Tesis sobre Les Parleuses y de la tesis de Bachiller sobre Hiroshima mon amour que elegimos L’Amant por vertirse aquí, todo el genio literario de Marguerite Duras, su espíritu, su voz: “Danw L’Amant, on entend sa voix dans chaque phrase, ‛a la fois son soufflé et son timbre, son corps souffrant et l’ambre, ses blancs et les chemins”. Develops the comprehensive analysis of the translation of a French literary text, We chose L'Amant de Marguerite Duras. If we had chosen in this opportunity any topic that did not include in its essence to that writer, it would have meant being dishonest with ourselves. It is since 1984 that, motivated by an identification with author and work, we focus our research around the "durasien" world. Thus, it will be after the Pre-Thesis on Les Parleuses and the Bachelor thesis on Hiroshima mon amour that we chose L'Amant to be translated here, all the literary genius of Marguerite Duras, her spirit, her voice: "Danw L'Amant , on understanding, voix dans chaque phrase, 'a la fois son soufflé et son timbre, corps souffrant et l'ambre, ses blancs et les chemins'.

Cette thèse a pour objet l’étude des métamorphoses de l’écriture de Marguerite Duras. Elle se fonde sur une analyse de ses romans où nous lisons d’abord une conformité aux lois du genre romanesque, puis une révolte qui se traduit par une déconstruction générique et scripturaire. Notre travail consiste en une étude des noyaux de nouveauté qui se trouvent en germes dans la période de conservatisme et leur éclosion qui innove par la suite l’écriture de l’auteur. Ces noyaux, particulièrement liés aux formes dramatiques et poétiques, seront soulignés dans leur développement et dans la façon dont ils transforment l’écriture romanesque. / This thesis investigates the metamorphoses of Marguerite Duras’ writing. It is based on an analysis of her novels where we can first read a compliance to the laws of the traditional novel, then a rebellion against any kind of generic or scriptural constraint. Our work consists in studying the germs of innovation of the conservative period and their blossoming that progressively innovates the author’s writing. We emphasize on these nuclei particularly related to dramatic and poetic forms, and on their development, as well as on the way they transform Marguerite Duras’ novel.

A escritura frente a um passado violento e traumático é mais do que nunca orientada pelo que não se pode dizer, por aquilo que só apareceria inautenticamente, sejam estas marcas psíquicas ou físicas. No entanto, ela pode se fortalecer frente ao indizível e encontrar formas de apresentá-lo, transformando a relação da literatura com o real. Essa transformação sofre influência de outros campos do conhecimento na mesma medida em que os influencia. Este trabalho se propõe a analisar a obra La Douleur e a forma como Marguerite Duras enfrentou, por meio de sua escritura, o abismo produzido pelo evento da Segunda Guerra Mundial, contribuindo para sua transposição. O trabalho incide também, direta e indiretamente, sobre os processos de busca do direito à memória e à verdade, questionando como usualmente se dá a busca da verdade em processos de justiça de transição, e delineando as possibilidades de a literatura lidar com as feridas do passado, trazendo uma outra forma de se buscar a verdade e o sentido. / Writing in face of a violent and traumatic past is more than ever oriented by what cannot be said, by what would only appear inauthentically, whether mental or physical marks. Nevertheless, writing can be strengthened in face of the unspeakable and find ways to represent it, transforming the relationship between literature and the real. Such transformation influences other fields of knowledge to the same extent that it is influenced by them. This work intends to analyze the book La Douleur and the way by which Marguerite Duras faced, through writing, the abyss produced by Second World War, contributing to its transposition. This work also focuses on and influences, directly and indirectly, the search for the right to memory and truth, questioning how the search for the truth is usually held in transitional justice systems, and outlining the possibilities of literature dealing with the wounds of the past, bringing another way to search for truth and meaning.
