Optimizacija procesa i alata namenjenih monitoringu medija / Media Monitoring Optimization Processes and Tools

Bengin Senka 30 June 2015 (has links)

Realizovana je njegova optimizacija metodom lineranog programiranja (LP- Linear Programing), metodom celobrojnog lineranog programiranja (ILP- Integer Linear Programing) i metodom grananja i ograničavanja (Branch and Bound). U optimizaciji je korišćen softver CPLEX. Optimizacijom je dobijen globalni optimum raspodele zadataka među zaposlenima; smanjenja broja zaposlenih u radnim smenama i ravnomernog skraćenja radne smene u slučajevima manjeg broja radnih zadataka.
/
In this dissertation the process of media monitoring in case of incomplete digitalization of printed media is discussed. According to this model, media monitoring service is mainly based on monitoring of news in the printed media - press clipping. Considering that the monitoring of the printed media is complex process, we realized optimization of media monitoring process by using Linear Programming (LP), Integer Linear Programming (ILP), as well as Branch and Bound method. The optimization software CPLEX is used. The global optimum of tasks distribution among employees; reducing number of employees working in shifts and balanced shortening of the work shift in case of a small number of tasks is obtained.

La théorie des ressources et l'évaluation du système d'information : le cas des outils de surveillance des médias sociaux (Social Media Monitoring) / Resource-based theory and evaluation of information system : the case of social media monitoring

Soleman, Ramzi 12 April 2018 (has links)
Recently, social media data, called Big Social Data (BSD), attract more and more attention from researchers and professionals, particularly after the emergence of Social Media Monitoring (SMM) tools, used to process BSD. The promises associated with the SMM concern the improvement of decision-making processes, or even the transformation of business processes. Despite increasing investments, the effective use of these tools in companies is very variable. In this research, we would like to understand how and for what purposes the SMM tools are used?. For the evaluation of these tools, we build upon the Resource-Based Theory (RBT). In order to implement this research, we used a mixed method approach. This approach consists of a qualitative study that was used to develop and enrich a second quantitative study. The obtained results show that the combination of SMM resources (quality of SMM tool, human resources…) and complementary resources makes it possible to build SMM capabilities (measurement, process, interaction…) leading to performance. Moreover, the support of the organization, and more specifically the role of managers, in the activation of SMM resources and capabilities is consistent with the recent advancements of resource management. However, we detected some ambiguities concerning the RBT. To deal with these ambiguities, we propose to resort to the extended theory of resource. Finally, we present the contributions, the limits and the perspectives of our research.

epistemological research whose goal\'s remains in contributions derived from the communication field for the social media monitoring method (SMM) and techniques. Human rights obligations and Australian newspapers: a media monitoring project, using peace journalism to evaluate Australian newspaper coverage of the 2004 HREOC report regarding children in detention centres.

Andreasson, Tobias Martin, English, Media, & Performing Arts, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, UNSW January 2008 (has links)
This research thesis investigates news journalists?? role in the promotion and protection of peace and human rights. I explore how news journalists do not just have the ability, through the discursive selections they make, to be a catalyst for peace and non-violent solutions, it is their obligation under international human rights. My study links arguments about universal ethics for media based on international human rights with the practical and analytical approach of ??peace journalism??. The main argument rests on the idea that objectivity or impartiality in news journalism does not equal ethical neutrality since there is always a discursive selection made by the news journalists. In order to monitor whether news journalists discursive selections comply with the international human rights obligations, I have explored how the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission (HREOC) report A Last Resort? were covered in three Australian newspapers when it was published in 2004. The HREOC report was a testament of human rights abuses by the Australian Federal Governments towards children in Australian detention centres. I establish that health professionals were a significant group for both HREOC??s main findings and recommendations and a key group for the contextualisation of the human rights violations explored and exposed in the HREOC report. Informed by conflict analysis and peace studies theories I argue HREOC establish how the detention policy equals ??structural violence?? that caused ??direct violence??, which was justified and normalised because ??cultural violence??. I use discourse analysis to explore the discursive selections in the newspapers, and establish that the report received limited coverage and health professionals were omitted in the news while the political conflict was reported. This trivialised the report and health professionals?? role, which led to the naturalisation and normalisation of the violence. I finally reinforce these finding by exploring alternatives to the coverage using a peace journalism framework, which further clarifies the subjective nature of the discursive selection.

The Relationship between Media in the Home and Family Functioning in Context of Leisure

Hodge, Camilla J. 14 June 2011 (has links) (PDF)
The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between media as family leisure and family functioning among families with at least one adolescent child. Specifically, this study examined the relationship between family functioning and media use, media connection, and media monitoring over time. Furthermore, because the data were nested in families, and because most family leisure research has been limited to individual-level analyses, this study incorporated mixed modeling into its analysis which accounted for family-level and individual-level variance. The sample consisted of 500 families participating in the Flourishing Families (FFP) Project, a longitudinal study of inner-family life involving families with a child between the ages of 11 and 16. Multiple regression analysis indicated there was a significant negative relationship between media use and family functioning. Mixed model analysis further indicated there was a significant positive relationship between media connection, parental media monitoring, and family functioning, and this relationship was stable over time. These relationships were significant even when accounting for the variance explained by depression, anxiety, conflict, and other demographic variables. Findings support existing media effects and family leisure research. This research, however, goes beyond existing research in its mixed level analysis that accounted for family-level variance and in its analysis of time in the stability of the relationship between media variables and family functioning. Findings further suggest the importance in parental involvement in adolescent media use when explaining variance in family functioning.

FOOD IMMERSION. LE RAPPRESENTAZIONI DEL CIBO E DEL RISCHIO ALIMENTARE NELLA SFERA PUBBLICA / FOOD IMMERSION. LE RAPPRESENTAZIONI DEL CIBO E DEL RISCHIO ALIMENTARE NELLA SFERA PUBBLICA / FOOD IMMERSION. SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS OF FOOD AND RISK IN THE PUBLIC SPHERE

RUBIN, ANDREA 17 May 2018 (has links)
Thesis work consists in empirical research on the communication of the food theme, in a techno-scientific framework. Recently, nutrition has been linked to a lot of interests: social, economical, industrial, commercial, political, media but also scientific ones. These are significant issues that concern the public opinion and attract the media attention. In a society that revolves strongly around media, it becomes relevant to observe how the public discourse on themes like food and nutrition is being shaped among the public sphere. In addition, the rising of several techno-scientific projects that concern the field of nutrition cannot help but suggest to look at nutrition, and its symbolism, like a privileged object through which one can also observe the existing ties between science, technology and society. This study started by exploring the characteristics of the narrative of the food theme and its presence in the public arena through an analysis of the main Italian daily newspapers. One former longitudinal analysis, in the time-span 1992-2013, found- through an innovative tool of textual analysis ( topic detection)- the presence of some emerging themes. Next, we shifted our attention to the last period (2010-2016), with the aim to focus on the majority of the recent events and to verify whether the media discourse on food and nutrition gained new relevance or forms in the media agenda and in the public discussion. The research work is composed of two other different kind of analysis: on the one hand, it will discuss the emerging results from three focus groups that provided useful indications on the relationship between food, media and the public opinion; on the other hand, we sought to identify a relation between media coverage and the attitudes of the public opinion by adopting a “risk indicator” and the data from certain European surveys.

Evigt offer eller alltid gärningsman? : Framställning av invandraren i den nätbaserade dagspressen / Forever victim or always aggressor? : The representation of immigrants in the daily newspapers online reporting

Johansson, Lotta, Svenningsson, Maria January 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to examine how immigrants are portrayed in the Swedish daily newspapers online reporting. The essay investigates in what context immigrants, as individuals, are made visible and how they and their origins are reproduced. The study focuses on the roles victim and aggressor, and is also investigating potential differences between morning and evening newspapers. Present theories are discursive discrimination, critical discourse analysis, cultural racism, stereotypes and structural discrimination. Adopted methods are qualitative and quantitative content analysis, based on the Global Media Monitoring Project-tool. The results show that immigrants are not individually stereotyped or depicted negatively, but that their immigrant origins often have a central part of the story, that they are mentioned mainly in connection with negative news and that negatively charged words occur frequently.
