Generationsskiften i ägarledda företag : nyckeln till en framgångsrik succession

Bohlin, Martin, Danielsson, Emil January 2005 (has links)

Background: The development of the Swedish demography is one of the most important social and economic changes ever in Swedish history. Society as well as business is facing an age chock since almost every other company owner is over 50 years old. The complexity of managing a successful succession is pointed out as a major threat to the Swedish economy by the organization Svenskt Näringsliv.

Purpose: The purpose with this master thesis is to identify and analyze critical success factors for a successful succession from a going concern perspective.

Research method: By using the strong aspects from the quantitative as well as the qualitative method, high level of order and systematic could be reached, without loosing too much details and depth in this particular research. The empirical data was gathered by a digital survey sent to 3000 companies. The quantitative research was complemented by 6 qualitative interviews to increase depth and reliability.

Results: The study shows that there is a great incongruence between the expected problems associated to the succession and the actual outcome. Furthermore, there are great differences between the problems prioritized by the companies compared to the ones that their advisers and consultants recommend should be prioritized. The analyses and results lead to a new model for successful succession, The 4-Ps of Successful Succession.

Grafovske metode u geometriji i geometrijske metode u grafovima / The graphs methods in geometry and the methods of geometry in graphs

Subotić Borivoj 12 February 2005 (has links)

/
Chapter 1 contains a shoot review of the basic notions which are used in the thesis with emphasis on the basic notions of graph theory. In Chapter 2we present graph proofs of some geometrical problems. For example, we present some proofs of the well known theorem of Sylvester, from Combinatorial geometry, using graph methods. In Chapter 3 we present some proofs in graphs which use geometry. For example, famous Turan’s theorem, Pick’s theorem and some others. Chapter 4 contains methodology transformations i.e. we apply the results from the previous chapters to the situations in the clossroom. In Chapter 5 we have some comments of UNESCO, from 1992, on education of children.

Triangulating Perspectives on Lexical Replacement : From Predictive Statistical Models to Descriptive Color Linguistics

Vejdemo, Susanne January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to investigate lexical replacement processes from several complementary perspectives. It does so through three studies, each with a different scope and time depth. The first study (chapter 3) takes a high time depth perspective and investigates factors that affect the rate (likelihood) of lexical replacement in the core vocabulary of 98 Indo-European language varieties through a multiple linear regression model. The chapter shows that the following factors predict part of the rate of lexical replacement for non-grammatical concepts: frequency, the number of synonyms and senses, and how imageable the concept is in the mind. What looks like a straightforward lexical replacement at a high time depth perspective is better understood as several intertwined gradual processes of lexical change at lower time depths. The second study (chapter 5) narrows the focus to seven closely-related Germanic language varieties (English, German, Bernese, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, and Icelandic) and a single semantic domain, namely color. The chapter charts several lexical replacement and change processes in the pink and purple area of color space through experiments with 146 speakers. The third study (chapter 6) narrows the focus even more, to two generations of speakers of a single language, Swedish. It combines experimental data on how the two age groups partition and label the color space in general, and pink and purple in particular, with more detailed data on lexical replacement and change from interviews, color descriptions in historical and contemporary dictionaries, as well as botanical lexicons, and historical fiction corpora. This thesis makes a descriptive, methodological and theoretical contribution to the study of lexical replacement. Taken together, the different perspectives highlight the usefulness of method triangulation in approaching the complex phenomenon of lexical replacement.

3D triangulační technika rekonstrukce objektů / 3D triangulation technique for object reconstruction

Pospíšil, Petr January 2009 (has links)
My paper work deals with the 3D active triangular method of building reconstruction. First, there was a measuring triangular system created. Then the way of its automatic calibration was proposed and consequently also performed. Also algorithms for the automatic detection of the sample projected were proposed. Algoriths were presented with several sample buildings. The result of these algorithms are 3D models of individual buildings. In the end achieved results nd restrictions of the system proposed were assessed.

#MakeTheFuture : en semiotisk analys av ett oljebolags kommunikation på Instagram / #MakeTheFuture : a semiotic analysis of the Instagram communication of an oil company

Magnér, Linnéa, Sandberg, Emelie, Ashiri Fard, Dorrin January 2020 (has links)
Over the last few years greenwashing has become a part of our society, whether the average person or company knows it or not. Companies have to find a way to approach the change of discourse that has occurred, to stay relevant and competitive when larger and larger parts of society want to decrease their carbon footprint and live more sustainably. The study analyzes the external communication of the oil company Royal Dutch Shell was particular focus on the climate issue and whether greenwashing is used. The purpose of the study is to examine how one of the world’s biggest companies are adjusting to the current climate discourse and justifies their business. The study uses triangulation of methods to quantitatively map out she oil company’s Instagram activity and qualitatively analyze the content from a semiotic perspective. The study examines whether, and in that case how, Shell uses greenwashing and/or methods of propaganda in order to influence the public’s image of the company in relation to the climate issue, but also in general. To answer the question formulations of the study quantitative content analysis has been used but the primary method used is qualitative text analysis which focuses on various semiotic concepts, one chosen method for identifying greenwashing and a chosen list of propaganda methods. The theoretical framework is based on greenwashing, corporate social responsibility (CSR), lobbying, the concept of discourse, hashtags and is supplemented by semiotics and propaganda analysis in the methodological chapter. The analysis of the study is presented in the form of clearly emerging themes where the most relevant and interesting posts are presented along with an analytical text. These themes include what Shell seems to want to draw attention to, and thus interesting to investigate in the form of arguments for the oil company’s continued work with its main business, although they might also be regarded as distractions from the main business. The results of the study show that as of 2018, about half of Shell’s Instagram posts have been charity-related, about a quarter about renewable energy, about a fifth about oil. Six out of ten signs of greenwashing have been identified as well as four out of five methods of propaganda. The study concludes that Shell uses CSR and the technological aspect of their work as a way to justify continued oil operations and to provide a positive picture of the company.

Vi slår på trummor inte på varann! En kontextextualiserad utvärderingen av ett kulturprojekt för barn och unga

Jonasson, Camilla January 2011 (has links)
In October 2010 started the pilot project, Vi slår på trummor inte på varann! The project was conducted under Utveckling Barn & Unga, which is collaboration between the Musik i Syd and the city of Kristi- anstad, in order to strengthen the children ́s and adolescents culture in the region. Slättängsskolan in Kristianstad was chosen as a pilot school and all students in grades 6 and 7 have participated in the project. The project ended with two concerts, one at the school and one at the Kristianstad Concert Hall. This thesis presents a contextualized evaluation of the pilot project, Vi slår på trummor inte på varann! anchored in three contexts:• Theory• Politics• MethodologyThese theoretical approaches include theories that are relevant to the evaluation of the project, Vi slår på trummor inte på varann! The pedagogical theories are related to learning processes regarding Art Education. Curriculum goals and values are also the basis for the evaluation. Methodologically I have used the method triangulation, a combination of methods, to evaluate the project in order to get a ”toolbox” of theoretical approaches for my future work as a cultural producer for children and young people. The results of the evaluation indicate that the majority of the students experienced the project as something good and something that they want to continue. Most positive were the students in 6:th grade. The students who thought it felt good to play drums were also more positive about the project as a whole. The most favorable of the project, according to the students, was the concerts. Concerts and media attention have revised the image of the school. Through the project, the school thus had something positive to gather around, which was one of the goals of the project. Based on evaluation results, I finally examined if the project, Vi slår på trummor inte på varann! can be regarded as a sign of a shift of paradigm in the perception of culture for children and young people in Sweden today.

Investigating good usability consistency within and across the South African super 14 rugby franchise web sites

Howard, Grant Royd 08 1900 (has links)
This study investigates the usability of the South African Super 14 Rugby franchise web sites. Web site usability is a measure of a web site user’s experience when visiting a web site. A web site user’s experience will determine how well a web site’s goals are achieved. The relevant web site goals are, having as many visitors as possible, both unique visitors and repeat visitors, and ensuring that those visitors stay on the web site for as long as possible. This study uses data generation method triangulation to enhance the validity of the findings. The data generation methods are an e-mail questionnaire survey and an expert group consensus method called the Delphi Method. This study shows that within each web site and across all five web sites, there is poor usability consistency. Management guidelines and recommendations for improvements to these web sites are presented, so that the web site goals can be achieved. / Computer Science / M.Sc. (Information Systems)
