Levando em conta a importância dos textos memorialísticos, e a de Miguel Torga no cenário literário português, esta tese propõe um estudo de uma das obras-primas deste autor, A criação do mundo. Fundamentada no modelo descritivo e interpretativo de leitura proposto por Fredric Jameson, a análise mostra que na organização formal da narrativa que difere tanto dos outros escritos do autor quanto de outros textos memorialísticos conhecidos, os mascaramentos ou estratégias de contenção suavizam assuntos com os quais Torga não consegue lidar e falam mais do autor do que é manifesto no texto. / Taking into account both the importance of memorialistic texts and of Miguel Torga in the Portuguese literary scene, this thesis proposes a study of one of this author\'s masterpieces, The creation of the world (A criação do mundo). Based on Fredric Jameson\'s descriptive and interpretive model of reading, the analysis shows that in the formal organization of the narrative, that differs from other writings by the author as well as from other well-known memorialistic texts, the maskings or contention strategies serve to soften up matters which Torga can\'t deal with and end up saying more of the author than what is manifest in the text.

But this representation clashes, anyway, from the consolidated religious patterns and, like this, this sacred may seems an emptied way. This work intends to do a discussion of the existence sacred in the literature, analyzing more specifically, in the Miguel Torga?s writing. First time, we discuss the meaning of the sacred to the man; how it stay in religious universe and, still, the different faces of the ways how both ? the sacred and the man ? interact. Next, we have the view of the sacred presence in torguiana?s poetry, beyond the discussion how Torga represents the sacred and the man in his texts, pretending understanding the strategies and literary characteristics of the Portuguese writer, constituents of a writing that intend emphasize the man instead of the sacred, following a discussion about the Torga?s man, that can be pointed like universal. Finally, we made the analyses from the chosen tales that are in the books Contos da montanha and Novos contos da montanha, that the sacred presence is evident. This way we have an interpretation work or interpretations suggests about the empting of the sacred in torguiano?s tales. / A literatura possui v?rios exemplos nos quais se representa o universo religioso. Mas esta representa??o constantemente destoa, de alguma forma, dos modelos religiosos consolidados e, assim, este sagrado pode at? figurar de uma forma esvaziada. O presente trabalho pretende fazer uma discuss?o da presen?a do sagrado na literatura, analisando-a, mais especificamente, na escrita de Miguel Torga. Em um primeiro momento, discutem-se os significados do sagrado para o homem; como se situam no ?mbito da religi?o e, ainda, as diversas facetas dos modos como os dois ? o sagrado e homem ? interagem. Em um segundo momento, tem-se o panorama da presen?a do sagrado na poesia torguiana, al?m da discuss?o de como Torga representa o sagrado e o homem em seus textos, procurando compreender as estrat?gias e caracter?sticas liter?rias do escritor portugu?s, constituintes de uma escrita que procura enaltecer o homem em detrimento do sagrado, seguida de uma discuss?o sobre a proje??o do homem torguiano, que pode ser apontado como universal. Em um ?ltimo momento s?o feitas as an?lises dos contos escolhidos, presentes nos livros Contos da montanha e Novos contos da montanha, nos quais a presen?a do sagrado se faz patente. O objeto deste trabalho são os diários de Miguel Torga. Estabelecidas, de início, a distinção entre o discurso histórico e o literário, as peculiaridades do diário entre as demais formas de literatura autobiográfica e as causas do intenso proceder intimista do homem contemporâneo, buscou-se, em seguida, analisar a escrita diarística de Miguel Torga, destacando os eus que dela sobressaem e, dentre eles, o eu predominante, e verificar a ascendência do discurso literário em relação ao histórico, seja, a força poética sobre as demais funções de linguagem, em sua obra. / The object of this work are the journals of Miguel Torga. Having established, initially, the difference between the historical and the literary discourses, the peculiarities of the journal in relation to the other forms of autobiographic literature and the causes of the intense search for intimacy of the contemporary man, this investigation pursued to analyze Miguel Torgas journal production, highlighting the poetic selves therein and, among them, the predominant poetic self, and to verify the prevalence of the literary discourse in relation to the historical, or, as otherwise put, the overwhelming poetic strength with regard to the other functions of speech in his production.

Through bibliographic research, we found expressive and unique portrayal of animals in the work of referred writers, dialoguing in several moments. It?s our interest, thereby, to investigate in which way the animal provided with human features is represented in the narratives, as well as in which way the authors approach the relationship among animals, men and the world surrounding them, which, in the case of the referred material, is situated, physically and emblematically, mainly, in a rural setting. Our reading privileges the implications of the man-animal relationship in written works of the referred authors, implications that are based, mostly, in alternative knowledge, recognitions and dichotomies. The selected corpus are the books ?Bichos?, by Torga, and ?Ave, Palavra?, ?Sagarana?, and ?Estas est?rias? by Guimar?es Rosa. It is noteworthy, as well, that we took as reading operators the notion of anthropomorphism and the resource of comparative analysis. / A presente pesquisa apresenta como proposta uma an?lise comparativa de contos dos ficcionistas Guimar?es Rosa e Miguel Torga, a partir da representa??o do animal humanizado em algumas narrativas. Atrav?s de levantamento bibliogr?fico, constatamos expressiva e singular representa??o de bichos na obra dos escritores referidos, que dialoga em momentos diversos. Interessa-nos, dessa forma, apurar de que maneira o animal dotado de caracter?sticas humanas est? representado nas narrativas, bem como de que modo os autores mencionados abordam a rela??o entre o bicho, o homem e o mundo que os rodeia, que, no caso das obras dos autores citados, est? situado, f?sico e emblematicamente, sobretudo, no meio rural. A nossa leitura privilegia as implica??es da rela??o humano-animal em textos dos escritores aludidos, implica??es que se baseiam, principalmente, em saberes alternativos, identifica??es e dicotomias. O corpus selecionado s?o os livros: Bichos, de Torga, e Ave, palavra, Estas est?rias e Sagarana, de Guimar?es Rosa. Cabe apontar, tamb?m, que tomamos como operadores de leitura a no??o de antropomorfismo e o recurso da an?lise comparada.

The books analyzed were Bichos, Contos da montanha e Novos contos da montanha. The research of the theme is made on the basis of the deductive method, in the bibliographical research and literary analysis. To develop the reading of the tales under grotesque prism were used theoretical studies by Victor Hugo (2007) and Wolfgang Kayser (2009), in addition to the contributions of Anatol Rosenfeeld (1996) and Philip Thomson (1972). The analysis of short narratives by Miguel Torga evidences the complex social relations, revealing the grotesque universe that emerges from them. / O presente trabalho se prop?e apontar e discutir a express?o e o sentido do grotesco nos contos campesinos de Miguel Torga (1907-1995), tendo como corpus os livros Bichos, Contos da montanha e Novos contos da montanha. A investiga??o do tema ? feita com base no m?todo dedutivo, na pesquisa bibliogr?fica e na an?lise liter?ria. Para desenvolver a leitura dos contos sob o prisma do grotesco foram utilizados os estudos te?ricos de Victor Hugo (2007) e Wolfgang Kayser (2009), al?m das contribui??es de Anatol Rosenfeeld (1996) e Philip Thomson (1972). A an?lise das curtas narrativas desse autor evidencia o complexo das rela??es sociais, revelando o universo grotesco que delas emerge.

Para isso, os textos assinados pela poeta sobre “A poesia de Cecília Meireles”, “Miguel Torga, os homens e a terra” e “Luís de Camões: ensombramento e descobrimento” são os eixos em torno dos quais se desenvolve a dissertação que tem como propósito demonstrar como Sophia lê a poesia de determinados poetas e por que os lê. Em paralelo, examinar-se-á o texto ensaístico como produção específica e, em particular, o andreseniano como cena reflexiva e criativa sobre o próprio lirismo. Além disso, interessa observar o eco da voz de Sophia nos poetas sobre os quais se debruça, ou seja, como algumas das temáticas valorizadas pela poetisa na obra dos outros autores comparecem em sua própria poética / The present work’s goal, by focusing on Sophia Andresen’s essay writing while also taking her poetry into account, is that of discussing the connections that can be established between her work and that of other authors to whom she has dedicated essays. To that end, the poet’s “A poesia de Cecília Meireles”, “Miguel Torga, os homens e a terra”, and “Luís de Camões: ensombramento e descobrimento” are the bases upon which this dissertation will be presented, as a way of showing how Andresen interpreted certain poets’ poetry and why she read it. At the same time, I will examine the essay as a specific production and particularly Andresen’s work in the field as a reflective and creative setting for lyricism itself. Furthermore, I aim to look into the echo of Andresen’s voice among the poets she addresses, i.e., to analyze how some of the subjects she cherishes within other authors’ oeuvre can be noticed in her own poetics
