Ekstrakcija, sastav, delovanje i moguće primene odabranih vrsta pečuraka / Extraction, content, activity and possible applications of selected mushroom species

Vidović Senka 30 May 2011 (has links)
After analysis of extraction yield, content of total phenols and total flavonoids, content of macro-elements and micro-elements, as well as content of adenosine and characteristic compounds (pistilarin and variegatic acid) were determined. Highest content od total phenols was determined in <em>C. pistillaris</em> extract, highest content of total flavonoids in<em> D. confragosa</em> and highest content of essential zinc and selenium in B. edulis dry extract. In comparsion to other extracts <em>L. saccatum</em> posses few time higher content of adenosine. Antioxidat activity was analysed by spectrophotometric and EPR methods. Extracts of <em>C. pistillaris</em>,<em> B. edulis</em> and <em>A. mellea</em> have been showed as a most efficient in scavenging of dangerous OH˙ radical. In lipid peroxidation prevention significant were mushrooms extracts of<em> B. edulis</em>, <em>A. mellea</em> and<em> L. saccatum</em>.<br />After determination of mushrooms supercritical extraction yield, fatty acid composition and sterol components were analysed. Dominant unsaturated fatty acid in investigated mushroom extracts was linoleic acid. Content of oleic fatty acid was also significant. Dominant compound of sterol structure, in almost all supercritical extracts, was ergosterole. Influence of supercritical mushroom extracts on eritrocite membrane fluidity was investigated. Acording to obtained results, mushrooms <em>A. mellea</em> and <em>M. procera</em> could have significant role in antihypertensive diet.</p>

Entrepreneurship in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa - A four year follow-up.

Karlsson, Karl January 2006 (has links)
<p>The study is based on the need for economic development and higher employment in South Africa. Political measures encourage organisations, like the Christian, non-governmental organisation, Project Gateway to educate disadvantaged groups in entrepreneurship. Through interviews, I have studied a group of 23 entrepreneurs, who participated in the program four years ago. I was able to find 15 people, of who two fulfilled Project Gateways goal of the program. I do find this to be low and recommend that the organisation work on networking, changes in the mentorship program, education in Zulu and encouraging lending awareness among the students.</p> / <p>Denna studie grundar sig i behovet av arbeten och ekonomisk utveckling i Syd Afrika.

Gradient calculations of non-orthogonal meshes in the finite volume method / N. van der Westhuizen.

Van der Westhuizen, Nicolé January 2013 (has links)
The handling of gradient calculations on non-orthogonal meshes in the Finite Volume Method (FVM) is important in the modelling of complex geometries, since different implementation methods have an influence on the accuracy and the stability of the solution. The application in the current study is the numerical solution of heat conduction in a complex geometry. It finds relevance in many engineering applications such as the Micro-Channel Heat Exchanger (MCHE) that acts as a recuperator in a High Temperature Reactor (HTR) power generation cycle. A program based on the FVM was developed in Excel for the solution of the diffusion equation on a non-orthogonal mesh. A test case of heat conduction in a rectangular block, meshed with a tetrahedral mesh, was solved with the Excel code. The same test case was solved with OpenFOAM. The results of the two codes were compared. Small differences were found and their origins were traced to slightly different implementation methods. Knowledge of the differences in implementation between the two codes resulted in a better understanding of the aspects that influenced accuracy and stability. Computations on meshes with the presence of mesh skewness and non-orthogonal mesh lines at boundaries were performed and an accompanying decrease in accuracy was observed. The results showed that the standard FVM as implemented in the Excel code and in OpenFOAM will need advanced methods to compensate for mesh skewness and non-orthogonality found at boundaries. During the study, a deeper knowledge and understanding was gained of the challenge of obtaining accurate solutions of heat conduction on non-orthogonal meshes. This knowledge may lead to the overall improvement of the simulation of heat transfer models in general and for the MCHE specifically. / Thesis (MIng (Nuclear Engineering))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2013.

Studium morfologie aneuryzmatu břišní aorty / Morphology of the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Eberlová, Lada January 2013 (has links)
Dissertation Abstract Abdominalaortic aneurysm (AAA) is a serious disease. Its prevalence is in the developed countries about 3%. As an aneurysm is considered a dilatation of all layers of a vessel wall over 3 cm. Majority of AAA are small and asymptomatic, and although the risk of rupture increases with the size of aneurysm sack, even the small aneurysms rupture. The rupture mortaliry ranges about 70 %. Surgical treatment is indicated in the asymptomatic patients in diameter of AAA over 5 cm. The average speed of growth of AAA is 0.3 cm per year, e.g. in the early diagnosed patients there is a several years interval for a pharmacolocical influencing of the progression of this disease. Knowledge of pathogenesis is essential for any targeted pharmacological treatment. Our prospective, non-randomised studies are based on the application of the stereological methods for the histopathological assessment of the AAA samples. The acquired data enable the statistical analysis, including the null hypothesis testing. In our study analyzing the histopathology of AAA aortae of 65 patients (65 walls and 55 thrombi) and 6 normal abdominal aortae from the organ donors we assessed the following parameters: the area fractions of collagen and elastin, and the length density of elastin in intima and media, the area...

Tvorba soustav ukazatelů - bankrotních modelů / Building a predictive model for bankruptcy

BÜRGER, Pavel January 2015 (has links)
Thesis deals with complex process of creation of new bankruptcy model for predicting business failure, while this process involves selection of quality sample, verification of classification accuracy of already existing bankruptcy models, profile analysis and finally the derivation of specific equation of bankruptcy model. The derivation is performed by using two selected statistical methods, discriminant analysis and logistic regression. Two bankruptcy models Bürger's index DA12 and Bürger's index LR12 were derived by using the mentioned statistical methods. The new models distinct advantage is, unlike already existing and renowned bankruptcy models, that they are focused on classification of micro and small enterprises in terms of Czech Republic, while classification accuracy one year before failure is by individual models 74.8 % and 81.87 %. Derived models have clear interpretation (no grey zone) and easy calculation, which brings a possibility for micro and small entrepreneurs to check their business partners in terms of failure prediction.

Rezervování škod pro individuální škodní data / Loss reserving for individual claim-by-claim data

Bednárik, Vojtěch January 2018 (has links)
This thesis covers stochastic claims reserving in non-life insurance based on individual claims developments. Summarized theoretical methods are applied on data from Czech Insurers' Bureau for educational purposes. The problem of estimation is divided into four parts: oc- curence process generating claims, delay of notification, times between events and payments. Each part is estimated separately based on maximum likelihood theory and final estimates allow us to obtain an estimate of future liabilities distribution. The results are very promis- ing and we believe this method is worth of a further research. Contribution of this work is more rigorous theoretical part and application on data from the Czech market with some new ideas in practical part and simulation. 1

Brandström, Nina January 2013 (has links)
Expected impact of electronic healthcare systems is increasing patient safety, care quality and availability. Using the system is essential to achieve this. This study explain the assimilation gap in an electronic healthcare system used in coordinated care planning by theories how individuals’ intentions and willingness to use electronic systems is affected by environmental influences. The result shows that the end users lack technical, organizational, and management support, which can explains the assimilation gap.
