As artes de Vênus e as artes de Minerva na configuração da puella elegíaca de Propércio / The Venus arts and the Minerva arts in the configuration of the elegiac puella of PropertiusArruda, Maria Ozana Lima de 05 February 2019 (has links)
This research aims to investigate the composition of the puella figure in the elegies of Propertius regarding two arts, Venus and Minervas. In this context, the art of Venus corresponds to the behaviour of the elegiac lover; the art of Minerva (firstly, the art of weaving) corresponds to the appropriate feminine way from a social point of view. Thus, we discussed in the first chapter how the two goddesses show up in Rome and discuss the first aspects of the relation established between the two in the elegy of Propertius. In the second chapter, we analyse the goddess Venus and her domains in Propertian poetry, as well as the puella as the practitioner of the love arts of Venus, along the poet, forming an elegiac pair. In the third chapter, we investigate Minerva in the elegies of Propertius and more specifically the art of the weaving exerted by the puella, observing how such art participates in the configuration of the elegiac lover. The investigations made in this dissertation reveal that, in different ways, the two goddesses summon to the Propertius elegies social and poetic aspects that contribute in the composition of the puella figure.

Atena och Minerva : En studie i likheter och skillnader mellan antikens krigsgudinnor / Athena and Minerva : a study in likenesses and contrasts between antiquities goddesses of warOlsson, Oscar January 2019 (has links)
This study will compare two prominent goddesses from the ancient Greek and Roman worlds, Athena and Minerva. The purpose is to explore what differences and likenesses the two goddesses have with each other, to see if a major distinction can be made between the two using mythological descriptions. The reason for the study is to show to what extent the Roman goddess Minerva had her own mythological background, attributes and character as distinct from that of Athena. In academia the difference between Athena’s and Minerva’s characteristics are vague and unclear. Minerva’s Roman mythological background is often hard to point out since the Romans borrowed several mythological views of the gods and goddesses from the Greek perspective of the gods. With this comparison one will be able to more clearly know how the Romans viewed Athena’s counterpart by comparing the main Greek and Roman mythical description of the two. The materials used to compare the two will comprise of the Iliad, and the Aeneid. The fact that the ancient religions of Greece and Rome were different concerning their gods' character and place in the mythology of each culture is at times overlooked, albeit recognized. At instances they are simply lumped together as one and the same even though major differences might exist between them and the way they were viewed in their respective cultures. This habit of treating the gods in the respective sphere of Greek and Roman as the same is problematic because it takes away our understanding of them as gods from different religious cultures. This is particularly the case in our unconscious mind when we study Greek and Roman religion. The goal of this study is to identify what differences can be found and thereby get a clearer understanding of the similarities or differences between Athena and Minerva.

Salvador

Framework pro vývoj aplikací na platformě ARM / Application Development Framework for the ARM PlatformBuchta, Petr January 2015 (has links)
This master's thesis focuses on designing and implementing a framework that would offer basic program resources for application development on hardware platform FITkit Minerva. First part of this work focuses on designing a data channel between PC and the kit for which the USB interface was used. Next part focuses on implementing a channel between an ARM based microcontroller and FPGA Xilinx Spartan-6. That led to creating a special system inside FPGA that allows adding new HW components that communicate with the microcontroller, which can be used for implementing HW acceleration techniques. Another outcome of this work is a debugging interface that allows to program and debug FPGA using development environment Xilinx ISE without a need of the original Xilinx JTAG adapter. This was achieved by using the XVC protocol that allows to create a custom JTAG adapter that in this case was implemented in the software of the microcontroller.

Previous issue date: 2015-07-24 / Funda??o de Amparo ? Pesquisa do Estado de S?o Paulo - FAPESP / The present work aims to analyze Cachoeira Town?s Lyra Ceciliana and Minerva Cachoeirana Philharmonics, respectively founded in 1870 and 1878. Such a work shows a study concerning the above-mentioned Institutions covering the period from 1960 to 1980, in order to identify the Philharmonics members? profiles, their partners and leading groups; events in which both Institutions used to participate, the type of audience that accompanied them and the relationships between the Philharmonics and that time municipal government. The work also exhibits the tours of various locations accomplished by the above-mentioned Philharmonics, as well as the conflicts between them upon showing off in the garden bandstands concerts. We have chosen the time frame among the years 1960 to 1980, seeking to identify the cultural, social and technological transformations in Brazil and in Cachoeira Town during that period and the impacts the Military Dictatorship caused in Cachoeira?s Philharmonics. The issue that guided the research was based upon the following question: what survival strategy were developed by both Philharmonics to keep themselves alive and resistant to the pressures imposed by the diffusion of new technologies, new rhythms and sounds? In order to obtain answers to our questions we have used several sources, such as minutes of meetings, members? book, the institution regulations, articles, photographs, newspapers and interviews with both Philharmonics musicians. This research accomplishment is justified considering it provides a thorough analysis about the above-metioned Philharmonics, also due to what they have promoted and are currently developing social and educational work of great relevance to not only the town but also other locations? teenagers and young adults.

Previous issue date: 2016-03-08 / The Minerva Project was a distance learning project of the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) which used radio as its main medium. It began in the second half of 1970, remaining until the early 1990s and it was intended to offer supplementary training for adults. The program, half an hour in length, was aired on a mandatory basis, from Monday to Friday on a national radio chain. The program was complemented by a magazine sent by the post office to the radiopostos - places where students, along with a monitor, had access to the radio receiver. The project was implemented by the Brazilian government during the military regime; however, during this research, a public collection of documents of Paraná State was discovered, which suggested a "Communist infiltration” in the radio program produced by MEC. Thus, the interest became to understand the Minerva Project, its origins, organization and forms of educational activities, seeking to capture the political-ideological struggle undertaken in that context. The primary sources used in the analysis (the State of Paraná's public collection documents) came from literature by Pinto (2013; 2014), Ferraretto (2010; 2014; 2016), Aggarwal (2007). In addition, an interview with one of the coordinators of the Project, Professor Marlene Blois (2015), contributed to the analysis. In conclusion, due to the censorship of the military regime in place at the time, and the content of the radio program being pre-recorded, there was no possibility of an ideological transmission.

Previous issue date: 2007-05-18 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The purpose of this study was to investigate the history of the Minerva Project,
rescuing the Mathematics discipline. In order to do this, a bibliographic, documental
research and interviews were done. A report about Brazilian and world radio
broadcasting was done and, also, of Distance Education, highlighting the characters
of priest Roberto Landell de Moura and Edgard Roquette Pinto. The study showed
the importance of the Minerva Project, which was a supplementary course of
Elementary and High School, by radio in the beginning of 1970 and showed its main
characteristics and the Mathematics discipline which was a part of it. The questions
that originated the research were: What is the importance of the historical recovery of
a pioneer project by radio (Minerva Project) of national dimension? What are the
limits and problems faced in the Mathematics course in the Minerva Project? In the
analysis of the data group it was possible to rescue the experience of an educational
radio in the Mathematics discipline and it was verified that its great challenge was to
transpose a Mathematics class to the radio language; the editor had difficulties to
create a script that the newscaster could understand and the complexity of this to
give the intonation, in order for the text to be understood by the students / O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar a história do Projeto Minerva,
resgatando a disciplina matemática.
O estudo mostrou a

L'art emblématique d'Henri Peacham à travers l'étude de Minerva Britanna (1612)Corre, Julie 07 June 2013 (has links)
Henry Peacham had a masterpiece published in 1612: Minerva Britanna. This collection of emblems represents the outcome of years of work on several manuscripts which he revised and which make up the main sources of the book. Minerva Britanna was published at the time when England was mourning for Prince Henry, deceased heir to the throne and addressee of Peacham’s book of emblems. This thesis aims at putting forward the worth of the emblematic art of this polygraph English artist who is not very famous and not often praised by critics. This analysis is based on a detailed study of Minerva Britanna and its purpose is to demonstrate the graphic quality of the emblematic picture as well as the variety of the themes treated by the emblemist.First, I shall deal with Henry Peacham’s emblematic art from a biographical and bibliographical angle. This will also enable the reader to discover the book’s genesis as well as its composition before analyzing the development of the emblematic genre in England. I will show that Peacham’s book takes on militant overtones and that the artist wants to present himself as the spokesman of English artists whose status was greatly unstable. Then, I will turn to the notion of genre. I will show to what extent Minerva Britanna can be seen as typical of the English “conduct book”, but also as representative of the specula principum and memento mori genres. This will clearly put forward the variety of this emblem book but also the eclecticism of Peacham’s style. I shall deal with the importance of the author’s source material in order to prove that Peacham skilfully handles both his thirst for originality and his desire to honour those who inspired his work. Finally, a third and last part will show that Minerva Britanna is also a historical analysis of the first years of James as King of England. I shall deal with domestic politics so as to examine the philosophy of James’s rule and the notion of monarchic absolutism but also the religious difficulties that the King had to face. James I’s foreign policy will also be under study. I shall demonstrate that Minerva Britanna is a testimony of the burning issue that was the Union scheme between England and Scotland. This will lead me to consider the question of national identity as well as England’s position concerning the New World.
