Divadlo Minor po roce 1989 do současnosti / Theatre "Minor" From The Year 1989 Up to Present

Sochorová, Veronika January 2014 (has links)
Theatre "Minor" From The Year 1989 Up To Present (Changes In a Staging Style) This thesis concerns itself with the Minor Theatre after the year 1989, namely with changes in a staging style of this prague platform that focuses mainly on a production for the child audience. In the production of the theatres principal directors (Karel Makonj, Jan Jirků, David Drábek, Jiří Adámek) we can observe distinctive courses of staging methods, that shape the Minor's character. The primary aim of this thesis is to attempt to reflect these staging courses and demonstrate them using profile plays. An excursus into the history of the Minor Theatre precedes these analyses to define its character. Biographies of the said directors are also included in the thesis, as well as the list of theatre's plays form 1990 (with the dates of premieres) and photographic material ilustrating the theatricals analysed here.

Telemann: a construção da perfomance por meio do processo transcritivo / Transcription for trombone of Suite in A minor for flauto concertato of G. Ph. Telemann: construction performance through transcriptional process.

Pacheco, Ricardo 14 October 2013 (has links)
The transcriptional process of the Suite in A minor for flauto concertato by the composer G. Ph. Telemann, has in this paper, the dual objective of enabling both the expansion of the repertoire of the modern trombone soloist with the transcription of a Baroque work, and to present a transcription of a Baroque piece that can be played both by professionals and non-professionals. We emphasize that in the Baroque period, the sackbut, predecessor of the modern trombone, although widely used, had no soloist function, and therefore the literature for the trombone does not have original works for the instrument as a soloist during the Baroque period. This paper is divided into four chapters: the first contained a brief historiography about the sackbut, its terminology, as well as discussions around the pitch in A or Bb, register and repertoire. In the second chapter we discus briefly about the composer G. Ph. Telemann, his biography and music production, the Suite form and Suite in A minor with their dances and structures. In the third chapter, we seek to discuss the Baroque ornamentation to describe the current practices in the Baroque period and its performance by a modern trombone. In the fourth and final chapter, we analyzed the transcriptions process and the step by step construction of the performance, the methods using the technique of the instrument. It is our intention to be able to add this transcription for trombone into the Baroque repertoire for the instrument.

Evaluating the Effectiveness of an Internship Program

Jackel, Daniel 01 December 2011 (has links)
The traditional way to learn about social sciences in a university setting includes taking courses that teach theoretical frameworks and scientific methodologies that are required for one’s major area of study. The courses that are taught to students are determined by what major they sign up for. After a student has taken all required courses, what skills does the student have to take with him after graduation? Whether participation is pursued solely for academic credit, for career development, or for civic engagement, an experiential experience typically enhances a student’s connection between academic content and “real world” applications. Bridging the gap between “real world” situations and the classroom demonstrates the need for the application of knowledge. This project’s primary purpose was to examine the student’s internship experience and determine whether it helped to enhance his or her ability to achieve the predicted outcomes of the internship program. A combination of quantitative and qualitative methodologies was deemed appropriate for empirical analysis. This evaluation project measured enhancement outcomes of an internship program, which rationalized potential designs for the undergraduate sociology major/minor and the undergraduate criminology minor, offered by a higher educational institution.

Recasting the eighteenth-century sonata-form narrative : compositional strategies in Robert Schumann's Opp. 105 and 121 violin sonatas / Recasting the eighteenth century sonata form narrative

Fuchs Sampson, Sarah E. January 2010 (has links)
Although Robert Schumann’s late style has been the subject of several probing studies in recent years, few scholars have concentrated their attention on the chamber works composed in the autumn of 1851. Perhaps most intriguing are the opp. 105 and 121 violin sonatas, whose first movements suggest a dialogue with the eighteenth-century sonata form by preserving many of the same rhetorical and structural elements. Throughout both movements, however, Schumann uses an intricate web of tonal ambiguities, metrical dissonances, and unusual key relationships to recast the internal workings of these outwardly conventional sonata forms. As he uses these techniques to undermine important structural moments of each movement, Schumann significantly changes the overall plot of the eighteenth-century sonata form, while also demonstrating his sensitivity to the dramatic possibilities of this historical form in the middle of the nineteenth century. By discussing Schumann’s dialogue with the eighteenth-century sonata form throughout the opp. 105 and 121 violin sonatas, this study attempts to situate these works within both their historical and contemporary musical contexts, and thus considers a previously unexplored avenue toward rehabilitating the reception of Schumann’s late chamber works. / School of Music

Capturer les interactions écologiques en microcosme sous pression chimique à travers le prisme de la modélisation / Capturing ecological interactions within a microcosm under chemical pressure through the prism of modelling

Lamonica, Dominique 08 April 2016 (has links)
As a consequence, interactions between species that occur in ecosystems are not taken into account. To investigate the effects of contaminants on interacting species dynamics, this thesis aims at modelling the functioning of a 2-L laboratory microcosm with three species, the daphnid Daphnia magna, the duckweed Lemna minor and the microalgae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, exposed to cadmium contamination. We modelled the dynamics of the three species, their interactions and the effects of cadmium using a mechanistic model based on coupled ordinary differential equations. The main processes occurring in this three-species microcosm were thus formalized, including growth and survival of daphnids, growth and settling of algae, growth of duckweeds, grazing of algae by daphnids, interspecific competition between the algae and duckweeds, and the effects of cadmium on these processes. We estimated model parameters by Bayesian inference, using simultaneously all the data issued from multiple laboratory experiments specifically conducted for this study during the thesis

Robert Schumann's Symphony in D Minor, Op. 120: A Critical Study of Interpretation in the Nineteenth-Century German Symphony

Hellner, Jean Marie 05 1900 (has links)
Robert Schumann's D-minor Symphony endured harsh criticism during the second half of the nineteenth century because of misunderstandings regarding his compositional approach to the genre of the symphony; changes in performance practices amplified the problems, leading to charges that Schumann was an inept orchestrator. Editions published by Clara Schumann and Alfred Dörffel as well as performing editions prepared by Woldemar Bargiel and Gustav Mahler reflect ideals of the late nineteenth century that differ markedly from those Schumann advanced in his 1851 autograph and in the Symphony's first publication in 1853. An examination of the manuscript sources and the editions authorized by Schumann reveals that he imbued the Symphony with what he called a "special meaning" in the form of an implied narrative. Although Schumann provided no written account of this narrative, it is revealed in orchestrational devices, particularly orchestration, dynamics, and articulation, many of which have been either altered or suppressed by later editors. A reconsideration of these devices as they are transmitted through the authorized sources permits a rediscovery of the work's special meaning and rectifies long-standing misperceptions that have become entrenched in the general literature concerning Schumann in general and the D-minor Symphony in particular.

Multi-crop solutions for sustainable agriculture : A Minor Field Study in Ratchaburi, Thailand / Multi-crop lösningar för hållbara jordbruk : En fallstudie i Ratchaburi, Thailand

Sigge, David, Borgström, Filip January 2023 (has links)
Agriculture is facing many challenges, such as decreased biodiversity, soil erosion, water scarcity, and social inequality, because of industrial farming and its focus on high yields at the expense of sustainability. This also includes Thailand and the province of Ratchaburi. There are, however, some farmers that have pursued sustainable agriculture in the region. The purpose of the study is therefore to investigate how these sustainable farming practices can contribute to increased prosperity, self-sufficiency, and an improved environment in Ratchaburi. Specifically, the study examines the strengths and weaknesses of sustainable agriculture in the region, as well as the opportunities and threats they face. Qualitative interviews were completed with farmers from three sustainable farms in the region. The results were analyzed with the help of PESTLE to describe the macro-factors that influence the agricultural environment .Thereafter a SWOT analysis was performed to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each farm as well as relate these to the opportunities and threats identified in the PESTLE analysis. The study found that the key strengths were multi-crop cultivation, product development, self-sufficiency and broad knowledge combined with collaboration. Several weaknesses arose from small-scale operations, which also made it challenging to make use of the opportunity of niche markets. A major challenge is the relatively low demand for sustainable products. Future studies could further examine how organic certifications can impact the demand for sustainable products, as well as how small sustainable farms can effectively reach niche markets.

Growth of duckweed upon exposure to aluminum and atrazine in the laboratory conditions

Vo, Thi-My-Chi, Dao, Minh-Phap, Dao, Thanh-Son 16 January 2019 (has links)
The trace metals and pesticides are commonly found in surface water receiving industrial and agricultural effluents. However, the potential negative effects of these compounds on aquatic ecosystems have not been deeply studied. Hence, the aim of this study is to assess the single and combined effects of aluminum (Al) and atrazine on the development and growth rate of duckweed, Lemna minor L. The single exposures were implemented with either Al or atrazine at the concentration of 5, 50 and 500 μg L-1 and a binary exposure was conducted with 50 μg L-1 of Al and 5 μg L-1 of atrazine for two weeks. The results revealed that both Al and atrazine at the concentration of 500 μg L-1 strongly inhibited the development and growth rate of the duckweed. On the contrary, the mixture of Al and atrazine showed antagonistic effects on the plant. To our knowledge, this is the first report on the combined effects of these two contaminants on the duckweed. Therefore, our results could be useful for environmental managers in setting up and adjusting the safe guideline values in Vietnam for Al and atrazine in natural waters in term of ecological health protection.
