Leadership is a fundamental function in all organizations and societies; It is the act that makes others get missions completed. However, to lead is a difficult act to master and those who lead professionally seem to have one thing in common: they have experience in the field of leadership. Based on earlier understandings and research, the authors have recognized the importance and motivation of student leadership; Individuals who enter in a leadership act from a young age. It is a time of period where the learning and development of leadership is recognized. Student leadership is therefore an arena for young individuals to develop their leadership skills and attributes, make mistakes and learn from them. It is considered essential to acknowledge this kind of leadership is not related to what kind of educational programs these individuals receive in their own studies, instead the focus in this thesis is leadership outside the university programs. The purpose of this study is to acknowledge the qualities and experiences young individuals receive by actively being involved in a leadership role. The analysis chapter discussed the theories of traditional leadership and modern leadership in accordance with the meaning of student leadership and compared them with empirical findings from 5 different respondents that were included in the term of Student leadership. An interview with an international corporation was conducted as well in order to receive another perspective and the need for student leadership. Valuable information regarding student leadership has been concluded by using a qualitative research method where students in a leadership position were interviewed and by using a deductive approach. In conclusion, essential attributes of student leadership include high confidence in social media, high rate of relational bonds and an international model of leading. The practical implications of this study recognize the importance of a development stage that exists in the role as a student leader; for both individuals that are set to enter an international corporation and the society.

The topic of leadership and leadership devolvement has attracted considerable interest from both academics and practitioners. Further, there have been explicit and implicit claims, that both leadership and culture are linked with each other and both influence organizational performance. While modern leadership and its evolving theories has been examined independently, its applicability was taken as universally. Few studies have investigated the association between the three concepts. This thesis focuses on the new styles of modern leadership and presents evidence suggesting that leadership is very dependent on its cultural context. It further shows that most leadership theories are based on western values, and therefore questions, whether these are applicable in Chinese companies. In fact, this paper is based on the assumption that the relationship between leadership style and performance is mediated by the organizational culture that is present at hand. It concludes with several implications for theory and practice and identifies future research objectives.

Weathering the entrepreneurial storm is considered by many an art form in itself but an undeniable, universal truth is the unilateral impact of an extraordinary leader on the chances of triumph in the face of great adversity. Yet the focus of academic studies all too often concerns the understanding of the weather patterns, the choice of captain and the direction of the ship rather than how to turn the wheel, raise the mast or set the sails. This study has the aim of deciphering the routines, actions and methods of entrepreneurial leaders so as to produce tangible, actionable knowledge which real practitioners can bestow upon themselves. This is a collective case study which examines ten entrepreneurial leaders from various cities throughout Sweden using semi-structured, in-depth interviews. The findings pertain to routines, activities and methods that they use to fulfil five roles of effective entrepreneurial leadership which are further boiled down to 52 thematic strategies. These strategies are then aligned into five fundamental skills; encompassing a collective approach, building individual relationships, fragmentation, dynamic perspective and utilising feedback. We believe that through developing these skills that entrepreneurial leaders can better cultivate their own routines, activities and methods contingent to their particular circumstance and transaction set.

<p>Coaching har blivit mycket av ett slagord inom företagsvärlden och olika konsultfirmor. Men vad innebär det konkret för individer och organisationer? Denna studie kommer att behandla coaching utförd av en ledare. Därav kommer både ett öppet och modernt ledarskap som coaching kräver behandlas, samt huvudämnet coaching.</p><p>Bakgrunden till studien är främst att allt för många ledare idag fortfarande rekryteras med auktoritär ledarskapsstil som inte prioriterar utveckling av de anställda, samt att coaching som definition ibland misstolkas. Så syftet är att behandla dessa frågor och diskutera kring frågeställningarna: <em>Vad är coaching? Vilken betydelse har coaching?</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p>Metoden som tillämpas i denna uppsats är en kvalitativ studie med fyra representanter från Brynäs IF hockey A-lag, tränaren Niklas Czarnecki, assisterande tränare Tommy Jonsson, spelarna Ove Molin och Emil Sandin presenterar deras verklighet omkring ledarskap och coaching.</p> / <p> </p><p>Coaching has become much of a catchphrase in the business world and various consulting firms. But what does it mean specifically for individuals and organizations? This study deals with coaching conducted by a leader. Therefore the study will examine both an open and modern leadership as coaching require, and the main subject coaching.</p><p>The background to the study is based on that too many leaders today recruits authoritarian leadership style that does not see the potential of their employees and the definition of coaching is sometimes misinterpreted. So the aim is to address these issues and discuss the questions: <em>What is coaching?</em> And <em>What is the importance of coaching?</em></p><p>The method applied in this study is a qualitative method with four representatives from Brynäs IF hockey A-team, which trainer Niklas Czarnecki, assistant trainer Tommy Jonsson and players Ove Molin and Emil Sandin present the reality about leadership and coaching.</p><p> </p>
