O objetivo deste trabalho foi contribuir para o desenvolvimento de um dispositivo elétrico baseado em moléculas organometálicas sobre substratos de silício poroso visando a sua aplicação no desenvolvimento de sensores de gás. Foi proposto um procedimento de deposição de monocamadas de moléculas de Ftalocianina sobre a superfície da estrutura de silício poroso aproveitando sua elevada superfície específica. As moléculas de Ftalocianina adsorvidas sobre o filme de silício poroso oxidado termicamente não apresentaram processos de reação química preservando suas características elétricas e ópticas. Foi fabricado um dispositivo com eletrodo de Ouro baseado no filme de moléculas de Ftalocianina depositado sobre silício poroso oxidado. A partir das curvas características I x V foi identificado o mecanismo de transporte de portadores através do filme de Ftalocianina e o tipo de junção na região de eletrodo-Ftalocinina. O mecanismo é baseado na corrente limitada por cargas armadilhadas nos níveis altamente localizados no interior da banda proibida entre os níveis HOMO e LUMO das moléculas de Ftalocianina. A resposta I x V do dispositivo mostrou-se sensível à exposição a gases orgânicos mostrando maior sensibilidade para o gás (Metanol) com maior constante dielétrica, sugerindo uma importante contribuição do efeito de blindagem sobre os níveis de armadilha, e como conseqüência a diminuição da profundidade destes níveis. / The aim of this work was to contribute for the development of an electrical device based on organometallic molecules onto porous silicon bulks for the application in the development of gas sensor devices. It was proposed a procedure of deposition of monolayer of Phthalocyanine molecules onto the surface of the porous silicon structure taking advantage of its high specific surface. The Phthalocyanine molecules adsorbed on the porous silicon film thermally oxidized did not show any chemical reaction process preserving their electrical and optical characteristics. A device was fabricated with Gold electrodes based on the Phthalocyanine molecules film deposited onto oxidized porous silicon. From the (I x V) characteristic curves, the carrier transport mechanism through the Phthalocyanine film and the junction type in the Phthalocyanine-electrode region were identified. The mechanism is based on the current limited by the trapped charges in the highly localized levels inside the band gap between the HOMO and LUMO levels of the Phthalocyanine molecules. The I x V response of the device showed to be sensitive to organic gases exposition showing higher sensibility to (Methanol) gas with higher dielectric constant, suggesting an important contribution of the shield effect on the trap levels and as a result decreasing the depth of these levels.

Análise da expressão de moléculas de adesão no tumor primário e em metástases ósseas e linfonodais de pacientes com câncer de próstata / Adhesion molecules in localized prostate cancer and in bone and lymph node metastasesPontes Junior, José 12 February 2010 (has links)
Objetivo: As moléculas de adesão celular (MAC) são essenciais para a manutenção do fenótipo epitelial. Alguns estudos têm relatado associação entre as alterações de sua expressão e a carcinogênese, mas o seu papel no câncer de próstata não é claro. Nosso objetivo foi estudar o perfil de expressão de E-caderina, cateninas e integrinas em espécimes cirúrgicos de câncer de próstata e associar as suas expressões com a evolução do tumor. Avaliamos também o perfil de expressão em metástases ósseas e linfonodais, a fim de compreender a influência destes marcadores na progressão do câncer de próstata. Materiais e Métodos: Foram selecionados 111 pacientes com câncer de próstata localizado tratados com prostatectomia radical pelo mesmo cirurgião. Sessenta pacientes não apresentaram recidiva tumoral após acompanhamento médio de 123 meses. A expressão das MAC foi avaliada por imuno-histoquímica (IH) em microarranjo tecidual (TMA), contendo duas amostras de cada tumor. Empregamos análise semiquantitativa para avaliação da expressão e determinamos a associação entre a expressão de cada MAC com a recorrência do tumor após a cirurgia. Avaliamos também a expressão das MAC por IH em TMA contendo espécimes de 28 metástases ósseas e em outro TMA contendo 19 metástases linfonodais com seus 19 tumores primários correspondentes. Resultados: Nos tumores primários a análise multivariada mostrou que a expressão das integrinas 3 e 3 1 relaciona-se com recidiva da doença. Quando a expressão de 3 foi forte e a expressão de 3 1 foi positiva, as chances de recorrência foram de 3,0 e 2,5 vezes maior. Apenas 19% e 28% dos pacientes estavam livres de recidiva após seguimento médio de 123 meses, quando os tumores apresentavam forte imunoexpressão de 3 ou positiva para 3 1 respectivamente. Outras integrinas apresentaram expressão reduzida, exceto 6 que foi expressa pela maioria dos tumores primário e metástases. A E-Caderina e as cateninas não mostraram associação com o prognóstico no tumor de próstata localizado. No sítio metastático, houve perda global de expressão das MAC. Encontramos ganho de expressão com a progressão do câncer de próstata somente para a integrina 3 que mostrou forte expressão em metade das metástases ósseas e linfonodais. Encontramos forte expressão de e -catenina foi em 94% dos linfonodos e 45% Conclusões: Nossos experimentos demonstram que a expressão das integrinas 3 e 3 1 está independentemente associada à recidiva de câncer de próstata após prostatectomia radical, e que a perda das moléculas de adesão celular pode ser considerada uma característica da progressão desta neoplasia / Purpose: Cell adhesion molecules (CAM) are essential for the maintenance of epithelial phenotype. Some studies have reported correlations between abnormalities in their expression and carcinogenesis, but their role in prostate cancer is unclear. Our aim was to study the expression profile of E-cadherin, catenins and integrins in surgical specimens of prostate cancer and associate their expression with outcome. We also assessed these expressions in bone and lymph node metastases in order to understand their influence in the progression of prostate cancer. Materials and Methods: We selected 111 patients with localized prostate cancer who underwent radical prostatectomy performed by the same surgeon. Sixty patients had no tumor recurrence after a median follow-up of 123 months. The CAM expression was evaluated by immunohistochemistry in a tissue microarray (TMA) containing two samples of each tumor. A semiquantitative analysis was employed and we measured the association between the expression of CAM and tumor recurrence. We also evaluated CAM expression by immunohistochemistry in a TMA containing 28 bone metastases and in other TMA containing 19 lymph node metastases with their corresponding 19 primary tumors. Results: In primary tumors, multivariate analysis showed that expression of 3 and 31 integrins was related to worse outcome. When 3 expression was strong and 31 expression was positive,the odds of recurrence were 3.0 and 2.5 fold higher. Only 19% and 28% of patients were recurrence-free in a mean follow up period of 123 months, when tumors showed strong 3 or positive 31 immuno-expression respectively. Other integrins have shown reduced expression, except 6 , which was expressed in most primary and metastatic cases. E-cadherin and catenins expressions were not associated with primary tumor outcome. At the metastatic setting, there was a global loss of CAM expression. We observed reliable gain of expression with prostate cancer progression only for integrin 3 that showed strong expression in half of bone and lymph node metastases. Interestingly, strong expression of and -catenin was observed in 94% of lymph node and 45% of bone metastases. Conclusions: We have demonstrated that the expression of integrins 3 and 31 was independently associated with recurrence after radical prostatectomy. In addition, we have shown that the loss of cell adhesion molecules can be considered a characteristic of prostate cancer progression

As intensidades dos feixes difratados foram medidas com um difratômetro automático de 4 ciclos CAD-4. As estruturas foram resolvidas utilizando o método de Patterson, sínteses de Fourier e Fourier Diferença e refinadas por métodos de mínimos quadrados com matriz bloqueada. Os poliedros de coordenação foram obtidos considerando as distâncias quadráticas médias mínimas entre os coordenantes e poliedros ideais. Y(C6H2N3O)3(6H18N3OP)2 e Ho(C6H2N3O)3(C6H18N3OP)2 são complexos isomorfos pertencentes ao sistema monoclínico, P21/n, tendo como parâmetros de rede para o complexo de Y: a = 17.104(2), b = 16.328(1), c = 17.671(6) Å, β = 95.40(1)°, Z = 4, Dc = 1.53 gcm-3, V = 4913(4) ޵ e para o complexo de Ho: a = 17.097(2), b = 16.299(1), c = 17.685(3) Å, β = 95.41(1)°, V = 4907(2) ޵, Dc = 1.63 gcm-3. O poliedro de coordenação para esses complexos é o dodecaedro, simetria D2d (42m). Ce(C6H2N3O)3(C5H12N2O)3, é uma estrutura pertencente ao sistema triclínico, P-1, a = 1.495(5), b = 11.815(5), c = 18.40(1)Å, α = 83.09(5)°, β = 76.7995)°, γ = 77.00(3)°, Z = 2, V = 4800(2)޵, Dc = 1.63 gcm-3. Existem 8 coordenantes ao redor do átomo pesado formando um Prisma Trigonal Biencapuzado. Molecular-scale characterisation of humic substances using isotope-filtered nD NMR spectroscopyBell, Nicholle Georgina Anneke January 2016 (has links)
Humic substances (HS), the complex mixture of organic molecules produced by microbial and abiotic degradation of plant and animals residues, are the major components of organic matter in soil and natural waters. As such, they are vital to the integrity of soil, play important roles in nutrient biogeochemical cycling and determine the mobility and fate of both nutrients and contaminants. How HS enact their varied roles, however, is largely unknown due to the lack of comprehension of their molecular make-up. What is known is that they contain aromatic (e.g. phenols, condensed aromatics) and aliphatic (e.g. carbohydrates, lipids) molecules with prevailing carboxyl and hydroxyl functionalities. As for other complex chromatographically inseparable mixtures, high-resolution analytical techniques such as Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) as well as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy have been applied to study HS composition at the molecular level. While FT-ICR MS can provide molecular formulae, it is only NMR that can unveil structures. Until now, however, very few unambiguous structures of individual molecules have emerged from standard NMR experiments. This is because purposely designed multidimensional NMR experiments are required to achieve ‘spectroscopic separation’ where chromatography fails. In this work, ‘spectroscopic separation’ was accomplished with the aid of chemical modification in the form of 13C methylation of COOH and OH groups. 13C containing tags allow the observation of signals only from molecules carrying these tags. In combination with purposelydesigned isotope-filtered NMR experiments, these tags act as spies reporting on their surrounding structure. This is achieved by utilising scalar and dipolar couplings to transfer the polarisation between protons and carbons of the 13CH3O groups and nuclei of the parent molecules. The necessary spectral resolution is attained using 3D/4D NMR experiments. This approach provides access to an array of correlated chemical shifts of HS molecules and represents a paradigm shift in the use of tags in investigations of complex mixtures: instead of focusing only on the tags, they are used to obtain structural information from the molecules they are attached to. The compounds at the centre of this investigation are the phenols of HS. These molecules are thought to be important in many of the key processes in organic matter rich soils, particularly peat. For example, their accumulation is thought to impair the activity of extracellular enzymes essential for the degradation of peat HS. Understanding the nature and source of phenols would provide a more fundamental framework for rationalising their role in peat, as well as other carbon rich soils. The developed methodology was initially tested on model mixtures containing 3 or 9 phenolic compounds before applying it to a operational fraction of HS, fulvic acid, extracted from a Scottish raised peat bog. For this fulvic acid, over 30 major phenolic molecules/moieties were identified, many of which can be directly traced to the flora prevalent in the vicinity of the sampling site. For the first time in 150 years of HS research, a novel analytical methodology has yielded unambiguous structural information, providing the first steps towards understanding the various roles of HS in natural systems.

Ce travail de thèse a pour but de proposer des potentiels d'interaction et des méthodologies pour prédire, au travers de simulations Monte Carlo, les équilibres et propriétés de phases de systèmes oxygénés rencontrés dans les procédés de conversion de la biomasse. Le potentiel AUA4 a ainsi été étendu aux alcools, éthers, cétones, aldéhydes et esters carboxyliques. Une attention particulière a été portée à la transférabilité de ce champ de forces, afin de pouvoir simuler de manière prédictive un grand nombre de molécules oxygénées. Différentes propriétés d'équilibre de corps purs sont correctement prédites (masses volumiques, pressions de saturation, enthalpies de vaporisation, propriétés critiques, tensions de surface, structure de la phase liquide). De nombreux mélanges ont également été simulés dans le pseudo-ensemble point de bulle, qui a été étendu aux molécules polaires dans le cadre de ce travail. Les résultats de simulation de mélanges complexes comme des bioessences ont été validés par l'acquisition de nouvelles mesures expérimentales. Enfin, une nouvelle méthodologie pour le calcul des interactions électrostatiques intramoléculaires a été mise au point dans ce travail pour la simulation de molécules oxygénées multifonctionnelles (polyols, éthers de glycol, composés aromatiques oxygénés). L'utilisation de cette méthode, qui permet d'éviter l'emploi de paramètres empiriques additionnels, conduit à des résultats très encourageants, ce qui laisse entrevoir de nombreuses perspectives pour la prédiction de propriétés de mélanges industriels complexes. / The goal of this thesis work is to propose interaction potentials and numerical methods to predict through Monte Carlo simulations the phase equilibrium and properties of oxygenated systems involved in biomass conversion processes. The AUA4 potential was therefore extended to alcohols, ethers, ketones, aldehydes and carboxylic esters. A special care was paid to the transferability of this force field to allow the predictive simulation of a large number of oxygenated compounds. Various equilibrium properties of pure compounds are correctly predicted (densities, saturation pressures, vaporization enthalpies, critical properties, surface tensions, liquid phase structure). Many mixtures have also been simulated in the bubble point pseudo-ensemble which was extended in this work to polar molecules. The simulation results of complex mixtures such as biofuels have been validated through new experimental data acquisition. Finally, a new methodology for the intramolecular electrostatic energy interaction has been developed in this work to simulate multifunctional oxygenated molecules (polyols, glycol ethers, oxygenated aromatic compounds). The use of this method, which allows to avoid the use of additional empirical parameters, leads to promising results, giving thus future opportunities to predict properties of complex mixtures of industrial interest

Melanoma primário da mucosa oral (MPMO) é um tumor raro e agressivo. Estudos recentes demonstraram uma correlação entre o aumento da invasão tumoral e o fenótipo metastático com uma alteração no padrão de expressão das moléculas de adesão. Neste estudo analisamos a expressão de integrinas e imunoglobulinas nos melanomas primários da mucosa oral e relacionamos os resultados com os parâmetros clínicos. As análises imunoistoquímicas dos padrões de expressão destas moléculas foram realizadas em 35 casos de melanomas primários da mucosa oral, e os resultados foram correlacionados com características clínicas e histológicas. Observou-se que a subunidade beta-4 de integrina foi negativa em casos com invasão vascular. A presença de integrina beta-3 e de CD166 (ALCAM) estavam estatisticamente associadas à extensa invasão vascular (p < 0,05). A menor expressão de CD54 (ICAM) foi marginalmente relacionada a casos com necrose extensa, enquanto a maioria dos casos com doença metastática foi negativa para CD66 (CEACAM). Conclusão: padrões alterados de expressão de moléculas de adesão, principalmente integrinas e imunoglobulinas, podem participar da patogênese e do desenvolvimento dos melanomas primários da mucosa oral / Primary oral mucosal melanoma is a rare and an aggressive tumor. Recent studies have demonstrated the correlation among increased tumor invasion, the metastatic phenotype and altered adhesion molecule expression profiles. The present study analyzed the expression of integrins and immunoglobulin-like adhesion molecules in oral mucosal melanomas and correlated results with clinical parameters. Immunohistochemical analyses of their expression patterns were performed on thirty-five cases of primary oral mucosal melanomas. The results were correlated with clinical and histological features of the cohort. The beta-4 subunit of integrin was negative and this was related with vascular invasion. Positivity of integrin beta-3 and CD166 (ALCAM) was statistically associated with extensive vascular invasion (p < 0.05). Lower expression of CD54 (ICAM) was associated with cases with extensive necrosis. Most cases with metastatic disease were negative for CD66 (CEACAM). Conclusion: Altered patterns of adhesion molecule expression, mainly integrins and immunoglobulin-like proteins, may participate in the pathogenesis and outcome of primary oral mucosal melanomas

Avaliação do efeito anti-aterogênico dos fitoestrógenos na expressão de moléculas de adesão em células andoteliais Humanas / Phytoestrogens antiatherogenic effect on adhesion molecules expression on endothelial cells.Andrade, Camila Marques de 27 November 2009 (has links)
Os riscos provocados pela Terapia de Reposição Hormonal, levaram à busca de novas terapias, como os fitoestrógenos. São substâncias com ação estrogênica e propriedades que podem retardar a formação de placas ateroscleróticas. Isoflavonas são os fitoestrógenos mais estudados e são encontradas na soja, no red clover e em outras plantas. Avaliamos os efeitos dos fitoestrógenos extraídos da soja Glycine max: genisteína, formononetina, biocanina A e daidzeína; a mistura entre eles (Mix1); o extrato padronizado de red clover (Menoflavon 40mg) e uma segunda mistura com os fitoestrógenos extraídos da Glycine max nas concentrações encontradas no Menoflavon (Mix2), na expressão de moléculas de adesão de leucócitos, VCAM-1, ICAM-1 e E-selectina, em cultura de células endoteliais de cordão umbilical humano (HUVEC), assim como na linhagem modificada de célula endotelial, ECV304, estimuladas com LPS. Resultados: foram padronizados os tempos e concentrações de exposição ao LPS no cultivo de HUVEC de 1ug durante 12 horas de exposição para as três moléculas de adesão; e no cultivo de ECV304 para a expressão de VCAM-1, de 500ng durante 12 horas, para ICAM-1 de 1ug durante 18 horas, para E-selectina 100ng durante 18 horas na superfície celular e 200ng durante 24 horas no sobrenadante de culturas de ECV304, permitindo que este tipo celular seja utilizado como modelo de inflamação. Os fitoestrógenos reduziram VCAM-1, ICAM-1 e E-selectina na superfície celular assim como as formas solúveis dessas moléculas, tanto em ECV304 como em HUVEC, sendo efetivos como agentes preventivos e também para tratamento da aterosclerose. A mistura entre os fitoestrógenos não apresentou maior eficiência na redução das moléculas de adesão na superfície celular, mas apresentou diferenças significativas na produção das formas solúveis. Tanto em ECV304, quanto em HUVEC os fitoestrógenos extraídos do red clover e os extraídos da soja Glycine max reduziram as moléculas de adesão na superfície celular e no sobrenadante, sendo que o Menoflavon, apresentou maior efetividade na redução das moléculas de adesão que os fitoestrógenos extraídos da soja Glycine max, em HUVEC. Ocorreram interações entre os fitoestrógenos e o 17 estradiol, tanto em ECV304 quanto em HUVEC, principalmente quando este se encontrava em baixas concentrações, sugerindo proteção para mulheres na menopausa. Esses efeitos dos fitoestrógenos ocorreram via receptor de estrógeno, como demonstrado pela inibição de suas ações por ICI. Conclusão: tanto os fitoestrógenos extraídos da soja Glycine max quanto os extraídos do red clover apresentaram efeitos anti-aterogênicos, podendo atuar como cardioprotetores para mulheres pós-menopausa. / The risks of hormone replacement therapy have led to a search for new alternatives such as the use of phytoestrogens, plant compounds with estrogen-like biological activity. Isoflavones are the phytoestrogens most extensively studied and can be found in soy, red clover and other plants. Due this estrogen-like activity phytoestrogens can have some effect on atherosclerosis. We evaluated the effects of the phytoestrogens extracts from Glycine max soy: genistein, formononetin, biocanin A and daidzein; a Mix between them (Mix1); a standardized red clover extracts (Menoflavon 40mg) and a second Mix using phytoestrogens from Glycine max with same Menoflavon concentrations (Mix2) on adhesion molecules expression, VCAM-1, ICAM-1 and E-selectin by endothelial cell HUVEC, and by endothelial cell line ECV304, stimulated with LPS. Results: were standardized time and concentration to LPS exposure, being 1ug during 12 hours for the three adhesion molecules expression on HUVEC, and 500ng during 12 hours for VCAM-1 expression, 1ug during 18 hours for ICAM-1 expression and 100ng during 18 hours for E-selectin expression on cell surface as well as 200ng during 24 hours to E-selectin increase on culture supernadant, on ECV 304 cell line. The phytoestrogens decreased VCAM-1, ICAM-1 and E-selectin levels on cell surface and on culture supernadant in HUVEC and ECV304, being useful as preventive agents as well as treatment agents. Mix1 were not most effective than isolated phytoestrogens on cell surface, but presented decreased results on soluble forms. Menoflavon presented more effectiveness than Glycine max on HUVEC. Phytoestrogens interacted with 17 oestradiol mainly, in low concentrations (10pg), showing protection for post menopausal women. These phytoestrogens effects happened by oestrogen receptor activation, this was demonstrated through phytoestrogens inhibition by ICI. Conclusions: the phytoestrogens from Glycine max as well as phytoestrogens from red clover presented antiatherogenic effects, mainly when 17 estradiol is low, being usefull for postmenopausal women.

Mecanismos celulares e moleculares de ação dos glicocorticóides endógenos sobre a mobilização de neutrófilos / Cellular and molecular mechanisms of action of endogenous glucocorticoids on the neutrophil mobilizationCavalcanti, Danielle Maia de Holanda 28 April 2010 (has links)
Temos mostrado que os glicocorticóides endógenos (GE) modulam o rolling e a aderência de neutrófilos in vivo, mediando a expressão de moléculas de adesão no leucócito e no endotélio. Adicionalmente, os GE controlam a maturação neutrofílica na medula e a sua mobilização para o sangue periférico. O presente trabalho visou investigar os mecanismos moleculares e celulares envolvidos na modulação exercida pelos GE neste processo. Utilizando ratos Wistar submetidos à adrenalectomia bilateral, tratados com RU 38486 ou controles (falso-operados, tratados com veículo ou não manipulados), foi demonstrado que: 1) os GE controlam, negativamente, a expressão de L-selectina em neutrófilos circulantes e ICAM-1, VCAM-1, PECAM-1, VAP-1 na célula endotelial e, positivamente, a expressão de L-selectina em granulócitos da medula óssea via seu receptor citosólico (GCR); 2) o mecanismo envolvido no controle dos GE sobre a expressão de L-selectina é independente de ação sobre sua expressão gênica ou da atividade de NFkB, mas dependente da expressão de anexina-A1, como verificado em camundongos knockouts (KO) para esta proteína 3) o controle da expressão de moléculas de adesão endotelial é dependente de ações sobre a expressão gênica, via translocação nuclear do NFkB; 4) a neutrofilia detectada em animais adrenalectomizados (ADR) é mediada pelo GCR, e dependente de anexina- A1; 5) a neutrofilia parece ser dependente da ação da anexina-A1 sobre a secreção de SDF-1 na medula óssea e expressão de CXCR-4 em neutrófilos circulantes e da medula; 6) concentrações circulantes elevadas de GE induzidas pela administração de ACTH confirmaram o controle dos GE, via anexina A-1, sobre o tráfego de neutrófilos da medula óssea para o sangue, mas sugerem um controle diferencial dos GE e anexina A-1 sobre a expressão de L-selectina em células da medula e do sangue circulante. Estes dados mostram mecanismos inéditos do controle dos GE sobre o tráfego de neutrófilos, que diferem em cada microambiente e tipo celular envolvido neste complexo fenômeno. / We have shown that endogenous glucocorticoids (GE) modulate the rolling and adhesion of neutrophils in vivo, mediating the expression of adhesion molecules on leukocytes and the endothelium. Additionally, the GE control neutrophil maturation in bone marrow and mobilization to peripheral blood. This work aimed to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the modulation exerted by GE in this process. Using male Wistar rats, submitted to bilateral adrenalectomy, treatment with RU 38 486 or controls (sham operated, vehicle or non manipulated), it was shown that: 1) GE control, negatively, L-selectin expression on circulating neutrophils and ICAM-1, VCAM-1, PECAM-1, VAP-1 on endothelial cell and, positively, L-selectin expression on bone marrow granulocytes via their cytosolic receptor (GCR); 2) the mechanism involved in the control of GE on the L-selectin expression is independent of its action on gene expression or NFkB activity, but dependent on the expression of anexina-A1, as observed in mice knockouts for this protein; 3) the control of endothelial adhesion molecules is dependent on gene expression, via NFkB translocation; 4) the neutrophilia detected in adrenalectomized animals (ADR) is mediated by GCR, and dependent on anexina-A1; 5) the neutrophilia seems to be dependent on the action of annexin A-1 on SDF-1α secretion in bone marrow and expression of CXCR-4 in peripheral blood and bone marrow; 6) high circulating concentrations of GE induced by administration of ACTH confirmed the control of GE, via the annexin-1, on the traffic of neutrophils from the bone marrow to the blood, but suggest a differential control of GE and annexin A-1 on the L-selectin expression in the bone marrow and circulating blood. These data indicate unpublished mechanisms of control of GE on the traffic of neutrophils, which differ in each microenvironment and cell type involved in this complex phenomenon.
