E-handel eller fysisk handel - det handlar bara om handel. : En kvalitativ studie om hur detaljhandelsföretag kan skapa en enhetlig upplevelse genom implementering av en omnikanalstrategi.

Lång, Petronella, Liedholm, Martin January 2019 (has links)
The retail industry has changed with the advance of the digitalization. The development of new technology and consumers who are continuously connected online implicate new sales and marketing channels for retailers. This imply that retail companies face the requirement of integrating the different channels with each other, which in research is called an omni-channel strategy. The purpose of the study has been, from a management perspective, to investigate how Swedish retail chains work to integrate both digital and physical sales and marketing channels. This to obtain a better understanding of the phenomenon omni-channel and how companies integrate the channels. The study aims to provide knowledge for how companies can create a unitary experience between their different channels. The study applied a qualitative research method in which semi-structured interviews were conducted with Swedish retail chain companies that has an omni channel strategy. The companies that participated in the study were: Cervera, Elgiganten, Gina Tricot, Kappahl, Kicks, Lyko, Netonnet and Royal Design. The results of the study show several aspects regarding how retail companies can connect their digital and physical sales and marketing channels with each other but also which challenges and opportunities there is. A model has been developed showing four common basic steps to create a unitary experience between the channels. The four steps are: status rapport, customer journey identification, creating consensus and integrating systems.

OMNI-DIRECTIONAL INFRARED 3D RECONSTRUCTION AND TRACKING OF HUMAN TARGETS

Benli, Emrah 01 January 2017 (has links)
Omni-directional (O-D) infrared (IR) vision is an effective capability for mobile systems in robotics, due to its advantages: illumination invariance, wide field-of-view, ease of identifying heat-emitting objects, and long term tracking without interruption. Unfortunately, O-D IR sensors have low resolution, low frame rates, high cost, sensor noise, and an increase in tracking time. In order to overcome these disadvantages, we propose an autonomous system application in indoor scenarios including 1) Dynamic 3D Reconstruction (D3DR) of the target view in real time images, 2) Human Behavior-based Target Tracking from O-D thermal images, 3) Thermal Multisensor Fusion (TMF), and 4) Visual Perception for Social Cognition from the motion behavior of the human target.

Cross-channel retail services as a remedy for retailer switching?: An investigation of retailer switching and potential of cross-channel retail services

Behme, Katharina 28 February 2020 (has links)
This cumulative dissertation consists of four papers that investigate retailer switching and identify potential and threat of cross-channel retail services (CCRS) for retail businesses. The first, conceptual paper compares different theories and models of retail quality. It derives the concept of retailer aspects as a framework to measure retailer quality and further discusses how CCRS can serve as a tool to enhance those retailer aspects. The second paper discusses results from a consumer panel survey and quantifies the influence of satisfaction with retailer aspects on retailer switching during webrooming behavior. The findings of this second paper present the two retailer aspects assurance of delivery and competitive product pricing as key determinants for retailer switching. The third paper defines CCRS and outlines a conceptual classification scheme for CCRS assessments – the CCRS Pentagon. The fourth paper quantifies the impact of CCRS adoption and retailer aspect preferences on CCRS-induced retailer switching based on a second consumer panel survey. Results from this second study affirm the existence of CCRS-induced retailer switching. The paper concludes that CCRS can serve as a retailer’s lock-in mechanism, but that the availability of CCRS in retail environments also threatens retail businesses. In sum, the dissertation provides academic contributions and suggestions for further academic research as well as practical implications and management tools for application in retail businesses.:I. Jag vill ha matkassen hemkörd numera : En kvalitativ fallstudie om e-handelsmodeller inom dagligvaruhandeln

Jansson, Johan, Wetterdal, Erik January 2021 (has links)
Background: E-commerce for groceries is growing and growing in Sweden and pure ecommerce companies are constantly entering the market. This study is based on Ica, which for a long time has been successful in the physical market through decentralization and the Ica-idea with individual retailers incollaboration and physical stores. To meet the new type of consumer behavior and competition Ica has developed a number of e-commerce solutions. Including the phenomenon of dark stores that indicates a new type of centralization within the group. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the experienced opportunities and limitations of a retailer-owned franchise organization in the Swedish grocery trade in its development work of e-commerce. A further purpose is to shed light on the interviewees reasoning about whether dark stores are a sustainable solution from a competitive and relational perspective. Method: In this study, a qualitative research strategy is applied in a case study design. The empirical data is generated through semi-structured interviews with managers and retailers from Ica stores in the Stockholm region and the ecommerce manager for Ica Sweden. The empirical data has then been codedand divided into four themes with associated subcategories. Literaturestudy: For the essay a literature study presenting theories and previous research on centralization and decentralization, vertical and horizontal integration, click-and-mortar, omni channels and competition was made. Afterwards it´s used as a basis for the theoretical comparison in the analysis part. Conclusion: Due to the ownership structure, the case organization is facing some unique conditions. Example, the decentralized power promotes quickness and opportunities for local adaptations, but also that a pure e-commerce modelwould be problematic. One solution the head office has developed is a dark stores service that the stores can use, which gives them access to a larger geographic market and leads to higher internal competition between thestores.

Deep Synthesis of Distortion-free 3D Omnidirectional Imagery from 2D Images

Christopher K May (18422640) 22 April 2024 (has links)

Omnidirectional images are a way to visualize an environment in all directions. They have a spherical topology and require careful attention when represented by a computer. Namely, mapping the sphere to a plane introduces stretching of the spherical image content, and requires at least one seam in the image to be able to unwrap the sphere. Generative neural networks have shown impressive ability to synthesize images, but generating spherical images is still challenging. Without specific handling of the spherical topology, the generated images often exhibit distorted contents and discontinuities across the seams. We describe strategies for mitigating such distortions during image generation, as well as ensuring the image remains continuous across all boundaries. Our solutions can be applied to a variety of spherical image representations, including cube-maps and equirectangular projections.

A closely related problem in generative networks is 3D-aware scene generation, wherein the task involves the creation of an environment in which the viewpoint can be directly controlled. Many NeRF-based solutions have been proposed, but they generally focus on generation of single objects or faces. Full 3D environments are more difficult to synthesize and are less studied. We approach this problem by leveraging omnidirectional image synthesis, using the initial features of the network as a transformable foundation upon which to build the scene. By translating within the initial feature space, we correspondingly translate in the output omnidirectional image, preserving the scene characteristics. We additionally develop a regularizing loss based on epipolar geometry to encourage geometric consistency between viewpoints. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our method with a structure-from-motion-based reconstruction metric, along with comparisons to related works.

Planární antény na substrátech s elektromagnetickými zádržnými pásmy / Planar Antennas on Electromagnetic Bandgap Substrates

Horák, Jiří January 2009 (has links)
Planar antennas are used in several technical applications. The family of planar antennas contains microstrip antennas, which are very popular due to the low weight, low profile, simple manufacturing and easy mass production. Lower gain and excitation of surface waves are disadvantages of microstrip antennas. The propagation of surface waves can be efficiently suppressed if the conventional substrate is replaced by an electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) substrate. Microstrip antennas on EBG substrates have been presented in an open literature for several years. Nevertheless, no published work is devoted to the design of EBG substrates, which can suppress surface waves at several frequencies those cannot be covered by a single bandgap. In order to reach optimum parameters of designed antennas, selected global optimization methods are applied (genetic algorithms, particle swarm optimization, ant colony optimization).
