Development of an application for teaching PLC and robot programming based on OPC UAZieringer, Christoph, Wittenberg, Carsten, Schneider, Frederik 27 January 2022 (has links)
This paper describes the development of a proof-of-concept application, which can be used to train people in the field of programmable logic controller (PLC) and robot programming. This concept leads to a better understanding, what kind of infrastructure and software packages can be combined, to not only have a visual representation of an industrial like scenario, but also the possibility to use commonly established programming environments such as TIA Portal, to set up a PLC program. In addi-tion, it provides insights on how OPC UA can be used and is suitable for controlling a typical six-axis industrial robot with the help of a PLC.

Agrothermie - design and testing of a novel hydraulically-actuated, locally vibrating ploughLiu, Jianbin, Beck, Benjamin, Münch, Jakob, Grosa, André, Kahle, Roman, Weber, Jürgen, Herlitzius, Thomas 26 June 2020 (has links)
Economic utilization of geothermal networks under agricultural surfaces needs large agricultural areas. In order to exploit the cultivated land more effectively, this paper proposes a novel locally vibrating plough system that employs a hydraulic actuator direct on the plough blade instead of the state of the art external vibration units. Starting with a description of geothermal networks under agricultural surfaces and the construction technology in details, the contribution shows different concepts, the development and test of the most promising solution for imprinting local vibrations at the cutting edge with the goal of traction force reduction. A virtual demonstrator, the test rig set-up and the control concepts are described. Both of the closed-loop simulation and experimental position control of the entire vibration system demonstrate that the novel design has impressive performance improvement. Finally, the integration of the vibration system into a prototype tool is shown and the reduction of the traction force is proven by experiments carried out with a tractor on a testing field.

Integration of OPC Unified Architecture with IIoT Communication Protocols in an Arrowhead TranslatorRönnholm, Jesper January 2018 (has links)
This thesis details the design of a protocol translator between the industrial-automation protocol OPC UA, and HTTP. The design is based on the architecture of the protocol translator of the Arrowhead framework, and is interoperable with all of its associated protocols. The design requirements are defined to comply with a service-oriented architecture (SOA) and RESTful interaction through HTTP, with minimal requirement of the consuming client to be familiar with OPC UA semantics. Effort is put into making translation as transparent as possible, but limits the scope of this work to exclude a complete semantic translation. The solution presented in this thesis satisfies structural- and foundational interoperability, and bridges interaction to be independent of OPC UA services. The resulting translator is capable of accessing the content of any OPC UA server with simple HTTP-requests, where addressing is oriented around OPC UA nodes.

Enhancing the Internet of Things Architecture with Flow SemanticsDeserranno, Allen Ronald 27 September 2017 (has links)
Internet of Things (‘IoT’) systems are complex, asynchronous solutions often comprised of various software and hardware components developed in isolation of each other. These components function with different degrees of reliability and performance over an inherently unreliable network, the Internet. Many IoT systems are developed within silos that do not provide the ability to communicate or be interoperable with other systems and platforms. Literature exists on how these systems should be designed, how they should interoperate, and how they could be improved, but practice does not always consult literature.
The work brings together a proposed reference architecture for the IoT and engineering practices for flow semantics found in existing literature with a commercial implementation of an IoT platform. It demonstrates that the proposed IoT reference architecture and flow-service-quality engineering practices when integrated together can produce a more robust system with increased functionality and interoperability. It shows how such practices can be implemented into a commercial solution, and explores the value provided to the system when implemented. This work contributes to the current understanding of how complex IoT systems can be developed to be more reliable and interoperable using reference architectures and flow semantics. The work highlights the value of integration of academic solutions with commercial implementations of complex systems.

Linked Enterprise Data als semantischer, integrierter Informationsraum für die industrielle Datenhaltung / Linked Enterprise Data as semantic and integrated information space for industrial dataGraube, Markus 01 June 2018 (has links) (PDF)
Increasing collaboration in production networks and increased flexibility in planning and production processes are responses to the increased demands on industry regarding agility and the introduction of value-added services. A solution is the digitalisation of all processes and a deeper connectivity to the information resources of partners. However, today’s information systems are not able to meet the requirements of such an integrated, distributed information space.
A promising candidate is Linked Data, which comes from the Semantic Web area. Based on this approach, Linked Enterprise Data was developed, which expands the existing tools and processes. Thus, an information space can be created that is usable and flexible for the industry. The core idea is to raise information from legacy tools to a semantic level, link them directly on the data level even across organizational boundaries, and make them securely available for queries. This includes the fulfillment of industrial requirements by the provision of the revision tool R43ples, the integration with OPC UA via OPCUA2LD, the connection to industrial systems (for example to COMOS), a possibility for model transformation with SPARQL as well as fine granular information protection of a SPARQL endpoint.

Návrh experimentálního robotického pracoviště pro manipulační operace / Design of an Experimental Robotic Cell for Manupulation OperationsBednář, Martin January 2018 (has links)
Final thesis is focused on design of experimental workplace with industrial robots for manipulation operations, that will be used for educational and demonstrational purposes. Integration of sub-systems and workplace layout are worked out in this thesis. Key factor is so called virtual commissioning. Unique solution, which is contained within final thesis, combines several software tools for the design of robotic workplace. Static 3D model created in Autodesk Inventor Professional is imported into Tecnomatix Process Simulate, where dynamic 3D model is made – simulation model respectively. The control element is softPLC by Beckhoff company created in TwinCAT software. The connection of simulation model and control element is realized using standardized communication protocol OPC UA. This combination proved to be a cheap tool for virtual commissioning in practice, because only one personal computer is needed for the job.
