E-loyalty in fashion e-commerce : an investigation in how to create e-loyaltyHansen, Ellinor, Jonsson, Erika January 2013 (has links)
The e-commerce is growing among customers and also the companies are more active online. One industry that focuses on customer experience is the online fashion industry. In Sweden, the half of the population has at some time shopped clothes and footwear online. However, for companies to compete against others and to survive in this crowded market, it is important to create e-loyalty. Thereby, the purpose for this study was to evaluate the antecedents of e-loyalty in the online fashion industry. E-loyalty is according to famous researchers one important ingredient to succeed online and stay profitable. Other important ingredients for e-loyalty are e-satisfaction, e-trust and e-service quality. All of these factors have been investigated and evaluate in which degree they affect e-loyalty. In this master thesis, assessed 212 respondents included in the population. The findings have been tested by following statistical analysis; reliability test, exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis. The result showed that e-satisfaction is the main driver for e-loyalty in the online fashion industry. Thereby, a manager should put main focus in what affect e-satisfaction to increase in e-loyalty in this industry. However, the result from the investigation also stressed an interesting factor, namely responsiveness. This factor was shown to have a significant influence on e-loyalty but also on e-satisfaction and e-trust.

The importance of colour naming for online fashion retailPayne, Helen Elizabeth January 2012 (has links)
Online fashion retailers use a wide array of colour names to describe the colours of their products; ranging from simple colour names such as the primary colours to more ambiguous colour names such as cloud and blush. Although many online retailers devote resources to the selection of colour names, no such research exists on the impact this has on online fashion consumers’ behaviours. The impact of colour naming on online fashion consumers is important as fashion and colour have a symbiotic relationship therefore the representation of colour within an online fashion retail setting is crucial. The need for colour naming within online fashion retailing is further intensified by the difficulties of accurately representing colour online and therefore the role of written product information, such as colour naming becomes important. To that end, this research aims to examine the impact of colour naming on online fashion consumers’ behaviours. Cognitive responses are considered to investigate the role of colour naming in providing information. Emotional responses are investigated to determine whether colour naming influences consumers in the same way colours are known to influence consumer behaviour. Finally, cognitive and emotional responses to colour naming are investigated to determine the impact on purchase outcomes within the online fashion retail environment. Qualitative and quantitative research approaches are used to derive empirical data. Through interviews and online questionnaires it establishes evidence to support the importance of colour naming within the online retail environment. Two online questionnaires were administered to determine the impact of colour naming on emotional responses and preferences for the colour naming categories within the online fashion retail environment by using the colour name appeal construct developed for this research. In-depth interviews were carried out to determine the impact of colour naming on cognitive responses and purchase intentions. The findings present a statistical significance for the causal relationship between colour naming and emotional responses. They reveal more complex colour names such as common descriptive, unexpected descriptive and ambiguous colour names are more likely to elicit emotions compared to common colour names. The findings also reveal the same colour naming categories are also more appealing within the context of online fashion retailing.A laddering technique was applied to the interviews. The results reveal that colour naming impacts on purchase intentions via a number of intervening variables; colour information, product information, product perception, information processing technique, aiding the shopping experience, understanding the product, emotional response, personal values, and post-purchase satisfaction. Again the complex colour names are found to have a wider reaching impact. Common and unexpected descriptive colour names did not always provide useful colour information to the consumers. This research presents empirical evidence regarding the impact of colour naming on online fashion consumers, thus shedding light on appropriate colour naming strategies for online fashion retailers.

O processo decisório de compra de vestuário feminino online: um estudo das diferenças de comportamento entre as gerações / The process of decision for buying women\'s clothing online: a study of differences in behavior among generationsZago, Bethania Fernandes da Fonseca 26 September 2017 (has links)
The present study investigated whether there are differences in consumers\' evaluations regarding the purchase of clothing in the online environment according to the generation they belong to. We tried to identify if the preference for the shopping experience offered by the brick and mortar store made it difficult to choose the virtual channel, we also investigated the impact of the lack of interaction with the product in the virtual stores and what are the factors that influence each generation when opting to buy clothes over the internet. For that, a quantitative approach research was developed, using the survey method for data collection in which an online questionnaire was applied. The results obtained through a multivariate statistical analysis showed that the older the generation, the lower the use of the Internet for this type of purchase, but in evaluating the reasons for which they never bought, even for the consumers who are already used to the online environment to perform other routine tasks, the inability to try on the products is really an impediment to this type of purchase. It was possible to observe that although Generation Y is more connected, the reasons why they do not buy clothes in virtual stores resemble those of Generations X and Baby Boomer. However, there are those consumers who value the practicality, the convenience in buying without leaving home and use the virtual channel. The main difference in the process of choice is that older generations are more likely to use the tools available in virtual stores to minimize product distance, such as zooming in on photos to analyze details and measurement tables to check the numbering of the items

CSR and the fashion industry, closely linked : CSR in the online fashion industry, opportunities and challenges: The French exampleDelcroix, Malo, Meyer, Louis January 2023 (has links)
In recent years, CSR has taken on great importance in the life of companies, which are much more aware of the existing social, economic and environmental problems. So, when Ecommerce has taken an important place in the life of different industries, these companies (especially in the world of textiles) have had to adapt and understand how to exist and use CSR to stand out and enter the market. The purpose of this thesis is to explore how companies that make online sales of clothing in France can create one or more competitive advantages by using CSR, and analyze the habits and behaviors of French consumers, understand in depth the standards to which French companies face to create a competitive advantage. The empirical results were obtained thanks to a quantitative study, and a questionnaire of ten questions that could meet the objective mentioned above. The results obtained were then collected and analyzed by the authors in order to find similarities or differences with the secondary data collected previously. The conclusion of this thesis shows that CSR can become a real competitive advantage, and give real opportunities to online fashion companies in France provided that their implementation is done in good conditions. Customers being more and more attentive to ecological, societal and ethical issues, companies are almost obliged to implement sustainable and ethical practices in their practices, from production to distribution in order to develop. In summary, the thesis identified consumer resentment towards these CSRs, and the benefits that French online fashion companies can derive from their implementation in the near future.

From Bags to Boxes; : A Study of the Consumers Perception of Value in Online Fashion Retail SalesBolm, Nadine, Hartigan, Betty January 2018 (has links)
Abstract Bachelor Thesis in Business Administration. Bachelor of Science with Specialization in Marketing – Main Field of Study: Business Administration. School of Business and Economics at Linnaeus University, Course Code 2FE21E, 2018 Title: From Bags to Boxes: A Study of the Consumers Perception of Value in Online Fashion Retail Sales Authors: Nadine Bolm, Betty Hartigan Supervisor: Michaela Sandell Examiner: Åsa Devine Background: Online retail sales has been growing steadily since the late twentieth century. Fashion, as a segment of the online marketplace, is the largest market in cyberspace and as new companies are combined with old ones who want to establish a presence online, competition is stifling. As more companies offer fashion in the online world consumers behavior evolves with this new reality and customer-perceived value shifts as the consumers values in their transactions shifts. In order to gain and maintain a strong consumer base companies need to know what the variables are that make up customer-perceived value in hopes of affecting it. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to explain the relationship between values of utilitarian nature, those being; monetary savings, convenience, product variety, product information, and customer-perceived value in online fashion retail and to explain the relationship between values of hedonic nature, those being; adventure, gratification, best deal, idea, and customer-perceived value in online fashion retail. Methodology: The research conducted here was an explanatory study to determine how different independent variables related to a single dependent variable. The study was deductive in nature and used a quantitative approach. Independent variables were studied with the use of a convenience sample and self-reporting survey posted online. Statistical analysis was conducted with data collected from 142 valid responses and through the use of validity and reliability methods the data was determined statistically meaningful and valid to test the hypothesis as accepted or rejected. Findings: The findings of this study show that a new theoretical model was needed to better demonstrate the direct connection between variables that consumers identified as valuable to them in online fashion shopping, had with consumer-perceived value. By examining data collected through online survey it was determined that of the 8 variables, seen as valuable by research into consumer perceived value, 4 would be accepted as such. These 4 variables would become the basis for a new model that explained how consumers develop customer-perceived value. Conclusion: The research explains the relationship the 8 variables selected by previous research for their effect on customer-perceived value. It also provides a model for future research activities or for development of marketing plans with exceptional efficiency and effectiveness in mind. In directly relating each variable to customer-perceived value on its own merit it was found that the variables respondents valued most were of the more practical or utilitarian in nature aside from one, adventure, which possessed the highest level of value of the 8 variables. Keywords: Customer-perceived value; Utilitarian value; Hedonic value; Online retail; Online fashion retail; Ecommerce; Monetary savings; Convenience; Product variety; Product information; Adventure; Gratification; Best deal; Idea

"The cyber war" : A qualitative study investigating the management of cybersecurity in Swedish online fashion companiesSteinbernreiter, Kajsa January 2018 (has links)
Due to a world-wide digitalisation, the fashion segment has experienced a shift from offline to online shopping. Consequently, more companies choose to interconnect digitally with consumers and suppliers. This highlights cyber risks and cybersecurity issues more than ever, which becomes specifically apparent amongst online companies. Through qualitative semi-structured interviews with three different Swedish online fashion companies, the purpose of investigating how cybersecurity currently is prioritised and managed was reached. In addition to this, two cybersecurity experts gave their view of the most important aspects in the field, which companies should consider. Results showed a fairly well-managed cybersecurity amongst Swedish online fashion companies, even though knowledge in the field is scarce. Through educating everyone at the company and implementing a group of people in charge of these questions, a more holistic view could be attained. By offering thoughts on how online fashion companies can enhance their current cybersecurity, this paper contributes to the literature of cyber risk management as well as provides meaningful knowledge to all types of online companies.
