This research has public technological higher education institutes as a case study, which proposes an IT risk management model to guarantee the continuity of the service in its main processes, where 3 public institutes were analyzed to determine the current state of the
processes of those institutes, obtaining as results that the IT areas have not identified the risks to which the institutions are exposed and they do not have a strategic IT plan, which generates that within the institutes there is no improvement in their organizational processes.
The model is based on the harmonization of standards or frameworks that refer to risk management, which were analyzed in a general way to determine the impact on IT risk management to guarantee the service continuity in the organizational processes, of which only 3 were selected from a list of 6. The model was validated through expert judgment, which was based on the indicators of sufficiency, clarity, coherence and relevance to give the validity and acceptance of the proposed model.
Finally, the model was applied in an institute which allowed it to improve IT risk management and guarantee the continuity of the service of its organizational processes, through compliance with the CBC licensing requirements.

Delat ledarskap: om chefer i samarbete : En kvalitativ undersökning om hur delat ledarskap utförs i praktiken inom en förskoleverksamhet / Shared leadership: about managers in collaboration : A qualitative study on how shared leadership is performed in practice within a kindergarten-organizationÅkesson, Amanda, Nyberg Larsson, Jenny January 2024 (has links)
This study will discuss the term shared leadership inside of a kindergarten-organization who have openly announced that they use this kind of leadership. Shared leadership is a leadership model where responsibility, authority and work tasks are divided or shared between two or more leaders. The shared leadership has been described as a good and appropriate leadership model for complex organizations and their requirements. The purpose of the study is to investigate what the shared leadership provides in practice seen from the leaders’ and coworkers’ experiences. Because of rules set up by Skolverket, functional shared leadership is the only allowed variant of shared leadership in the school sector. Thus the study will first and foremost focus on this kind of shared leadership. The study is a case study with a phenomenological approach where the collected material consists of nine interviews with people who were employed both before and after the implementation of the leadership model. The kindergarten-organization consists of six different kindergarten-units, whereof three of these are participating in the study. To achieve as wide of a perspective as possible the study will consider a worker-perspective and a leader-perspective. The study’s result shows that shared leadership can be beneficial for management, but that coworkers still miss the attending leadership from both principal and unit manager. Furthermore, the study’s result also shows how organizational processes can be simplified through frequent and good communication, trust and personal chemistry, which are three important factors for successful shared leadership. The conclusion further states that there are challenges in the horizontal relationship inwards which can be made more difficult if the leaders within a shared leadership are not compatible with each other. Since the function of lack of prestige and a complementary leadership within a shared leadership are factors that create the basis for cooperation.

The aim of this thesis was to discuss the relationship between everyday practices and emotions in organizational process of contemporary circus. The methodological contribution that I present in this thesis is the appropriation of multisited ethnography as a research strategy for understanding organizations that are based on socio- spatial mobility and in different locations. In terms applied to management, the survey results highlight that the creative process of circus performers is centered on a collective dynamic, engaging in conversation as relevant to the transmission of knowledge of artistic production and the realization of creative residencies in different cultural contexts as a basis for technical training and social development of the circus. On the process of training of artists, highlight the need to incorporate studies on the collective dimension of organizing the training of circus performers in circus schools and the subject cultural producer as articulator of artistic practices to management practices.

The starting point for this study is the question of why organizational visions are often interpreted by employees as unintelligible and insignificant. The knowledge gap in this area makes the study of communication about vision and goals both urgent and interesting. Accordingly, the purpose is to advance knowledge on communication processes in organizations through description and analysis of communication about strategy, encompassing vision, strategic objectives and common values, in a company. A case study design was chosen and a longitudinal qualitative study was conducted in the company, from April 1998 to January 2000. A combination of methods were used, including participant observation, discourse analysis and interviews. Communication about the strategy followed a typical top-down model, starting on group level and ending on department level. In this process, Balanced Scorecard was used as a tool to communicate the strategy. It was concluded that visions formulated by top managers met different realities constructed by managers at lower levels in the company. Managers’ attitudes, knowledge and interpretations were important individual factors that influenced communication about the strategy. Employees did not have the same detailed knowledge of the strategy as the managers, nor were they given the same opportunities to obtain it. The discourse analysis reveals power structures, conflicts, individual attitudes and perspectives. The study thus results in a deep understanding of communication problems in the organization.

Previous issue date: 2013-10-24 / BNDES, throughout its history, has sought to expand the scope of its actions, using new forms of multiplication of their financial support and this relentless pursuit of innovative initiatives keeps Institution in constant transformation and consolidates its position to service needs and expectations of the Brazilian nation. The Solidarity Economy Department of the BNDES (DESOL) acts in supporting social economy enterprises, seeking employment and income generation and economic inclusion of low-income population. Historically, the performance of this Department was happening directly between BNDES and the beneficiary, following the same steps applied to the bigger companies and with intensive use of staff resources and time. Recently, in order to expand the scope of its activities, the DESOL implemented a new way of acting, with emphasis on building partnerships to ensure the expansion of the range to your target audience in a sustained way, and under a systemic which resulted in changing the process of lending to these projects, which resulted in a breakthrough in terms of scope and disbursement. However, some bottlenecks can already be perceived and this paper presents proposals for improvements in the structure and form of action that considers various constraints of the Department and provides possibilities for implementation in the short and medium term.

Research that integrate strategy and real options theories suggest that firms can be regarded as a portfolio of future opportunities and that resources, capabilities and organizational processes must be in place in order to ensure its optimization. Firms differ in this optimization capacity and this heterogeneity along with the effects of other factors are reflected in the variability and in the dynamic behavior of the value of growth options (vgo). In accordance with previous studies using variance component methodology, firm effects are predominant over country and industry effects and explain a significant portion of total variance of vgo. Longitudinal analyses through latent curve models under the perspective of structural equations (complemented by hierarchical linear models) confirm that size explain the cross-section differences in the initial values of vgo, whereas industry dynamism has a positive and significant effect on vgo that varies non-linearly across time. Apart from the effects of these covariates, there still remains a significant portion of unexplained variances in latent parameters that determine the trajectories of vgo across time, probably due to the effect of unobservable and firm-specific factors.

The aim of this thesis was to discuss the relationship between everyday practices and emotions in organizational process of contemporary circus. For this purpose, a multisited ethnographic study in the context Brazil - Canada between the years 2011 in the Brazilian city of Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, and 2013 was held in the Canadian city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec. In the first theoretical basis of this study, I realize a discussion about the political dimension of practices, ways of making social subjects, in everyday organizational processes highlighting (i)mobility of organizations in Organizational Studies. Indeed, consider the organizational routine as spaces of practices that constitute micro - politics of everyday life - in the midst of a normative management processes. The micro refer to the comparison of practical relations with logical action of certain historical and culturally; present a procedural nature, because the forms of organization are multiple and interconnected spaces in practice; produce effects in everyday life due to its relational character with normative spheres of society. Highlight the emotions like practices in organizational routine that to be articulated to other daily practices form the emotional political dimension of organizational processes. One of the identified effects of emotional politics in the everyday work of the circus was the production of multiple spatialities that despite, enable circuses by seeking recognition of their artistic legitimacy, produced counterpoints regarding the order established in the political field of the arts in the cities studied. Indeed, circuses could be understood as organizational heterotopic spaces, or spaces constituting the social order, but their practical relations established reverse forces. Thus, the thesis that I defend in this paper is that the relationship between everyday practices and emotions are emotional politics of organizational processes resulting in the production of heterotopias. The main results of this research highlight the importance of emotions in organizations showing how practical elements for the development of a Political Theory of Emotions in Organizational Studies.
