Non-Governmental Organizations’ approaches to women’s empowerment amid the COVID-19 Pandemic: Towards decolonizing development praxis in northern Ghana

Akurugu, C.A., Nyuur, Richard B., Dery, I. 26 June 2023 (has links)
Yes / This article examines local non-governmental organizations (LNGOs) approaches to women's empowerment amid crisis and the implications for decolonizing women's empowerment praxis. The article draws on lessons from the Covid-19 pandemic and decolonial critique of development praxis to analyse LNGOs approach to women's empowerment. The study relied on snowballing to select twenty-six LNGOs operating in northern Ghana for in-depth interviews. Our study found that LNGOs deploy local and international frameworks on women's rights and combine these with indigenous knowledge principles and economic empowerment. Yet there are tensions between negotiating culturally appropriate approaches and meeting the interests of philanthro-capitalist donor agencies. The LNGOs are dependent on Western donors for financial resources and have become more vulnerable due to Covid-19 pandemic and its aftermath as funding for women's empowerment work continues to dwindle. LNGOs have modified their interventions to address specific needs of beneficiaries arising from the consequences of the crises. This study enriches understandings of the specific vulnerabilities of LNGOs in northern Ghana, resource-scarce and semi-arid settings across the global South. For women's empowerment to achieve meaningful results, especially during and after crisis, activism needs to be centred on indigenous knowledge. This is central to building the resilience of LNGOs and women beneficiaries to effectively position themselves to absorb the shocks that attend crisis and to cope more effectively with it.

In de Betou, Katarina January 2024 (has links)

Höggren, Jonas, Moberg Wahlberg, Emilia January 2024 (has links)
Forskningsfrågor:   1. Hur utformar och genomför SMF sina digitala strategier i     praktiken?    2.

Murray, William 23 February 2022 (has links)

[en] HUMAN SEXUALITY: AN EMANCIPATOR EDUCATION FOR LOVE: ETHICAL-THEOLOGICAL REFLECTIONS MEDIATED BY PAULO FREIRE S EDUCATIONAL PRAXIS SERVING A PASTORAL COMPROMISED WITH A HUMANIZED EXPERIENCE OF THE SEXUAL-AFFECTIVE DIMENSION / [pt] SEXUALIDADE HUMANA: EDUCAÇÃO LIBERTADORA PARA O AMOR: REFLEXÕES ÉTICO-TEOLÓGICAS MEDIADAS PELA PRÁXIS EDUCACIONAL DE PAULO FREIRE A SERVIÇO DE UMA PASTORAL COMPROMETIDA COM A VIVÊNCIA HUMANIZADA DA DIMENSÃO AFETIVO-SEXUAL

CASSIA QUELHO TAVARES 18 October 2022 (has links)
[en] The present thesis is a result of the author s concern with a significant professional experience in women’s health field and an effective presence in the pastoral compassing the theme of human sexuality. It seeks to present a methodology of a continuing education aiming the person s conformation in the pastoral so as to have better comprehension e probation of one’s sexual-affective dimension. At first, the human being is revealed in the contemporary society when it comes to its manner of understanding and experiencing sexuality, influenced by several anthropological, social and cultural situations which do not always indulge the harmonious development of the sexual-affective dimension, but interfere in one s way of thinking and acting. It is yet emphasized the reflection that the contemporaneity demands from Christians and theologians concerning the need of a continuous effort in framing an integrator and interdisciplinary knowledge that contributes to the person s maturing in all dimensions. Even though there are damages in the field of sexuality, due to a dualistic point of view of the human being, there is the possibility of changes incited by the renewed moral after Vatican Council II through the material contribution of the Church s documents on Sexual Ethics. The author shows gaps and deficiencies in the forms of approaching the sexual-affective theme in the academic theological work and in the pastoral performance. A methodology is proposed grounded in the ethicaltheological reflection mediated by Paulo Freire s Educational Praxis, objectifying an emancipator and humanizing Continuing Education that serves people in the pastoral, addressing their sexual-affective development and maturing.

Praxis pietatis as dieptedimensie van kommunikatiewe geloofshandelinge

Pienaar, Jan Adriaan 04 1900 (has links)
This study intends to describe a spirituality that can function as intention and motivation for communicative faith acts. The operational scientific approach to Practical Theology is discussed briefly. It is shown that acts are not only existential behaviour but has an underlying spirituality as intention and motivation. Different perspectives on spirituality are explored and the term praxis pietatis is chosen describe spirituality. The creation-recreation theme is used to define a theological basis for praxis pietatis. The praxis is intentional communicative acts that stem from the imperative. It is made possible by the indicative of the self-revelation of God to mankind. The redemption of God as existential knowledge is made possible by the exercising of faith by the new man. Through the pietatis this knowledge is integrated into the daily life - with the eye upon the resurrection. / Philosophy, Practical & Systematic Theology / M. Th. (Praktiese Teologie)

[en] PROCLAMATION AND PRAXIS OF GOD S KINGDOM: AN ESCHATOLOGICAL SENSE IN THINKING OF EDWARD SCHILLEBEECKX / [pt] ANÚNCIO E PRÁXIS DO REINO DE DEUS: UMA PERCEPÇÃO ESCATOLÓGICA NO PENSAMENTO DE EDWARD SCHILLEBEECKX

ALDO FERNANDES DA ROCHA 12 July 2016 (has links)
[en] This dissertation deals with the proclamation and praxis of the God s Kingdom, in order to realize the eschatological elements of the theme, present in the thought of Edward Schillebeeckx, contained in the book Jesus, the story of a living, and other works by the author and other authors in dialogue with him. The methodology adopted is the literature review, and the points of relevance are the announcement, the praxis of the kingdom, and the perception of the eschatological elements highlighted by Schillebeeckx. Jesus proclaimed the Kingdom of God, through the Beatitudes, parables and the reinterpretation of the Mosaic Law for the poor people, bringing God s saving help for Humanity. If the beatitudes are the life program of the kingdom, the parables are a vital illustration, and they all refer to Jesus himself, who is, himself, the kingdom of God. Subsequent announcement, the praxis of the kingdom in Jesus is found in their attitude healing and deliverance from evil, revealing the compassion and mercy of God. The announcement and praxis of the kingdom generate a community of disciples who, after the death and resurrection of Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit, continues His mission in history. With Jesus, the eschatological prophet, God s Kingdom is approaching humanity and accomplishes what has yet to be fully experienced in the eschatological future of God.

Wagner, Guillaume 08 September 2017 (has links)
This thesis engages the question of community in husserlian and post-husserlian phenomenology, concentrating on the concept of the “lifeworld” (Lebenswelt), especially in The Crisis of European Sciences and Transcendental Phenomenology. At the crossroads between two major stages of Husserl’s development, of which we will reveal the implications, we question the lifeworld through the phenomenological analysis of the processes of incorporation and incarnation. We demonstrate that Husserl straightaway surmounted the impasses met by his successors, by refusing an exclusive opposition between the fields of immanence and transcendence in order to, on the contrary, propose their interlacing. Starting with resumption of the radical critique of naturalist objectivism, the stakes are to deepen the forms of intricacy between the ecological sphere and world-horizon. From there, we designate intersubjective praxis as the basis of the dynamics of community formation, which we understand in terms of forms of life.
