Guenther Dobrauz-Saldapenna is a Partner with PwC in Zurich, Leader of PwC Legal Switzerland, a member of PwC’s Global Legal Leadership Team directing the firm’s global legal practice and the firm’s Global LegalTech Leader. DeStefano and Dobrauz are editors of the book “New Suits. Appetite for Disruption in the Legal World” published in June 2019. The Austrian Act on Corporate Criminal Liability (VbVG) entered force on 1 January 2006 and has now been in effect fourteen years. The following article will evaluate the VbVG’s frequency of application in practice and critically examine the dominance of procedural termination (rather than prosecution) at the discretion of the district attorney’s office.

The EU Whistleblower Protection Directive came into force on 16 December 2019. Switzerland continues to struggle with this topic: the Swiss National Council (Nationalrat) dismissed a draft law on its introduction on 3 June 2019 and, after the Swiss Council of States (Ständerat) approved the draft law without changes on 16 December 2019, dismissed it again on 5 March 2020.

The article deals with the liability of board members for decisions to minimize business risks resulting from the pandemic. Based on an important decision by the highest German criminal court on a case of the 2008 financial crisis, the article outlines the limits of a safe haven within which managers can make decisions without fear of legal consequences.

(in English): The aim of this thesis was to explore the current trend and preferred communication channels for social interaction with peers among members of Generation Z during the Covid-19 pandemic. In this thesis, I seek to answer the questions of whether communication channels for social interaction have changed in light of the pandemic, what channels are being substituted and how, and how participants perceive this new experience with respect to their mental health. I open the thesis with a study of the literature and relevant studies regarding the definition of Generation Z, how they use and perceive technology and communication channels, and the impact of the pandemic on Generation Z. The theoretical section is then followed by a comprehensive research section in which I seek to familiarize the reader with the chosen mixed methods methodology, research design, data collection and finally the analysis and results. First of all, the result of my research shows that face-to-face meetings in restaurants, bars or clubs were most often replaced by walking or meeting outside, meeting at flats or playing video games together. Most of the participants perceived this experience of the pandemic and the reduction of social contacts negatively and experienced anxiety because of that.

Seit Beginn der Pandemie Anfang des Jahres 2020 werden statistische Daten erhoben mit dem Ziel, die Ausbreitung von COVID-19 zu charakterisieren. Grundlage der statistischen Analysen bilden die Zeitreihen der täglich erfassten Anzahl von Neuinfektionen. Die Dynamik der Pandemie lässt sich als Trajektorie in einem Phasenraum visualisieren. The basis of the statistical analyzes is the time series of the number of new infections recorded daily. The dynamics of the pandemic can be visualized as a trajectory in a phase space. Syftet med studien var att undersöka behandlares upplevelse av terapeutisk allians vid sessionvia digitalt format. En kvalitativ metod har tillämpats och datainsamlingen har gjorts via semistrukturerade intervjuer. I studien deltog sju respondenter varav fem var kvinnor och två var män. Studiens insamlade material har analyserats utifrån Braun och Clarkes (2006) Tematiska analys. Den Tematiska analysen genererade tre teman: Första temat: Osäkerheten i vad som sker, och vad man inte ser eller hör, vilket beskriver respondenternas upplevelse av hinder i kommunikationen via det digitala mötet. Andra temat: Begränsat handlingsutrymme,beskriver respondenternas känsla av att det digitala formatet minskar deras verktygslåda som behandlare. Det tredje temat: Avsaknad av fysisk närhet, beskriver hur respondenterna saknar den fysiska närheten i det digitala formatet men upplever det digitala formatet vara ett gott komplement till det fysiska rummet, dock ingen fullgod ersättning. / The purpose of the study was to investigate therapists' experience of therapeutic alliance in therapy through digital format. A qualitative method has been applied and data collection has been done through semi-structured interviews. The study involved seven participants, five of whom were women and two were men. The study's collected material has been analyzed based on Braun and Clarke's (2006) Thematic analysis. The Thematic Analysis generated three themes: The first theme: The uncertainty in what happens, and what one does not see or hear, which describes the participants' experience of obstacles in communication through the digital meeting. Second theme: Limited room for maneuver, describes the participants' feeling that the digital format reduces their toolbox as a therapist. The last theme: Lack of physical proximity, describes how the participants lack the physical proximity in the digital format but experience the digital format as a good complement to the physical space, however, no adequate replacement.

The diploma thesis focuses on risk management in retirement homes and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the risk management in retirement homes. The aim of this thesis is to describe how risks are managed in retirement homes. The first sub-objective is to identify similarities and differences in risk management in different organizations and the second sub- objective is to examine whether and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected risk management in the organizations. In the theoretical part, we describe the role of retirement homes in the context of social services. We also focus on the COVID-19 and the course of COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech republic and in the retirement homes. In the last chapter of this part we present risk management and its role in organization. Three organizations participated in the qualitative research. Through in-depth interviews with managers and documentation analysis, the risk management practices in these organizations are described. Based on the statements of managers, recommendations were formulated for managers in retirement homes on how to improve the organisational risk management.

Pandemin covid 19 har påverkat människors liv på många sätt. På grund av restriktionerna pandemin medfört har många tvingats till en beteendeförändring av olika slag. Den beteendeförändring som denna undersökning har till syfte att undersöka är upplevelser av förändrade alkoholvanor samt dess orsaker under pandemin. Studien bygger på en kvalitativ ansats med 10 semistrukturerade intervjuer, som analyserats med en innehållsanalys. Studiens resultat visade att samtliga intervjupersoner upplevde en förändring av någon form i beteendet gällande deras alkoholvanor i samband med pandemin. Studiens slutsatser är att pandemins restriktioner var den främsta anledningen till att intervjupersonerna upplevde en beteendeförändring av sina alkoholvanor. Inköpsvanorna har förändrats då de inte längre inhandlat alkohol från Tyskland. Studien visade på en oförändrad eller minskad alkoholkonsumtion under pandemin, beträffande såväl tillfällen som alkohol förtärs som den faktiska volymen alkohol de totalt förtär. Upplevelser om tider på dygnet då alkohol intogs var oförändrat med en avvikelse. / Pandemic covid 19 has affected people's lives in many ways. Due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic, many have been forced to make a behavioral change of various kinds. The behavioral change that this study aims to investigate is experiences of changed alcohol habits and its causes during the pandemic. The study is based on a qualitative approach with 10 semi-structured interviews, which were analyzed with a content analysis. The results of the study showed that all interviewees experienced a change in some form of behavior regarding their alcohol habits in connection with the pandemic. The study's conclusions are that the pandemic's restrictions were the main reason why the interviewees experienced a behavioral change in their alcohol habits. Shopping habits have changed as they no longer buy alcohol from Germany. The study showed an unchanged or reduced alcohol consumption during the pandemic, regarding both occasions when alcohol is consumed and the actual volume of alcohol they consume in total. Experiences about times of the day when alcohol was consumed were unchanged with a deviation.
