"Análise da ocorrência e classificação penal das lesões maxilofaciais do Instituto Médico Legal do Município de Taubaté" / Analysis of the occurrence and criminal classification of the maxillofaciais injuries at the Legal Medical Institute of Taubaté.

Katia Aparecida Bueno Santos Bastos 20 July 2005 (has links)
This is a study of the occurrences of facial and dental traumas. Its sample was composed by 1.374 awards of facial traumas victims from the files of the Legal Medical Institute of Taubaté. On the sample, the majority of the victims with facial traumas are of the male gender (61,4%), at the age group of 20 to 29 years old, injured as a result of interpersonal violence – main etiological agent. Among facial traumas, 93,1% of the victims had soft tissue injuries, 2,5% had hard tissue injuries and 4,4% had both injuries. Concerning hard tissues, among the victims, 54,3% suffered only bone fractures, 31,4% suffered only dental injuries and 5,2% had both of them. The dental traumas occurred more frequently among the male gender (54,8%), aged between 20 and 29, and predominantly as consequence of interpersonal violence. The majority of the victims (61,3%) with dental traumas damaged only one tooth. According to the loss evaluation, from the awards, most of the dental traumas were of grave nature (45,2%). Another finding from the study was that after security belt became obligatory there has been a decrease of 5,9% of the victims from traffic accidents with facial traumas

Vývoj a mezikulturní srovnání agrese u dětí mladšího školního věku / Development and cross-cultural comparison of aggression in school-age children

Bergerová, Hana January 2017 (has links)
The Master's thesis deals with the topic of aggression in children. It focusses on the different kinds of aggression, specifics of aggression in children in their developmental stages, developmental trajectories of aggression, gender differences in aggression, determinants of aggression, theories of origin of gender differences, and international comparisons of aggression. The objectives of the research was to examine specifics of aggression in a Czech sample group, compare Czech results with the results of other countries (Greece, France, Germany, Italy, Turkey, China, India, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico and Peru), and examine the effect of age, gender, and sibling birth order on aggression. The mean of factors of aggression in the Czech sample was among the smallest of the countries mentioned above. We didn't find any significant difference among groups based on age, gender, or sibling birth order. Keywords: Relational aggression, physical aggression, developmental trajectories of aggression, The Fairy Tale Test

INDIRECT AND PHYSICAL AGGRESSION IN CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE AND OUTCOMES IN EMERGING ADULTHOOD

Cleverley, Kristin D. 04 1900 (has links)

This dissertation examined several dimensions of the development of physical aggression and indirect aggression in a longitudinal sample of boys and girls. These data are part of the National Longitudinal Study of Children and Youth which evaluated the development of children bi-annually from 1994 to 2010. The data for this thesis come from individuals aged 10 and 11 in Cycle 1 (1994) through to Cycle 5 (2002) when they were 18 and 19. In an attempt to explore trends in the development of aggression, the research is presented as three separate projects that examine the following: (1) measurement of physical and indirect aggression by informant and sex; (2) group-based trajectories of physical and indirect aggression and outcomes of trajectories in emerging adulthood; and (3) association between indirect aggression in adolescence and depression in emerging adulthood when physical aggression is taken into account. This is the first longitudinal study to investigate group-based physical and indirect aggression trajectories in childhood and adolescence and outcomes in emerging adulthood. The contribution of this thesis to the field of epidemiological research on aggression is the importance of considering distinct subgroups within both physical and indirect aggression, and joint trajectory groups of both physical and indirect aggression when exploring developmental trends and outcomes of aggression.
/ Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Agressivité physique à l'enfance et criminalité à l'âge adulte : effet modérateur de la consommation d'alcool et de cannabis à l'adolescence

Tremblay, Emilie 12 1900 (has links)
Individuals exhibiting high levels of physical aggression during childhood are more at risk of criminal behaviors during adulthood regardless of the presence of several risk factors. Aggressive children are also more at risk of using psychoactive substances during adolescence. Studies of the relationship between substance use and crime have provided different conclusions, depending on the substance under consideration and depending on the category of crime. Alcohol consumption has been positively associated with crimes, both against people and against property. Cannabis consumption has been associated positively with crime against property and negatively with crime against people. This present study aimed at investigating the hypothesis that physical aggression manifested in childhood is associated with an increase in criminal charges during adulthood and that association is specific to the type of crime and moderated differentially by alcohol and cannabis use. To this end, 887 male participants from lower socioeconomic status were followed from age 6 to age 25. Multinomial logistic regressions indicate that individuals belonging to a moderate or a high trajectory of physical aggression during childhood are more likely to commit crimes later in adulthood. This association remains significant after control of family adversity and drug use. Alcohol and cannabis use during adolescence has no effect on this association. However, main effects of alcohol use on crimes against person and cannabis use on crimes against property are observed. The implications of these findings are discussed.

Does Video Game Content Matter? An Examination of Two Competing Ideas

Smith, Nathan J. 01 June 2015 (has links)
The current paper addresses the associations between video game content (i.e., physically aggressive, relationally aggressive, and prosocial) and physical aggression, relational aggression, and prosocial behavior in two distinct developmental periods. The purpose of the paper is to test whether playing video games with a particular type of content influences behaviors over time, or whether individuals who have higher levels of physical aggression, relational aggression, or prosocial behavior prefer to play games with similar content. Two theories will be simultaneously examined and tested in order to determine the relative merit in using each in research examining the relationships between video game content and positive and negative behaviors. More specifically, this paper will address the General Aggression Model/General Learning Model (GAM/GLM) and the Uses and Gratification Theory. The GAM/GLM, at their core, predict that exposure to video game content will build a cognitive schema which will guide how an individual should behave when confronted with a later social encounter (Anderson & Bushman, 2002). Contrarily, Uses and Gratification would suggest that a person chooses to play video games with a particular type of content, and that video games should not influence behavior. Specifically, according to the theory, individuals should seek out video games in order to fulfill their inward feelings and motivations (e.g., an individual with aggressive tendencies would play games with more violent and aggressive content) (Katz, Blumler, & Gurevitch, 1973; Whiting & Williams, 2013). A careful analysis showed a significant relationship between each type of video game content and its' corresponding behavior among adolescents, which supports the assumptions of the GAM and GLM. There was no relationship between video game content and behavior among preschoolers. With the exception of relational aggression of physically aggressive content, there was no support for Uses and Gratification Theory, in that preschoolers' and adolescents' levels of physical aggression, relational aggression, and prosocial behavior were not related to the preference for video games with different types of content. The analysis adds significantly to the current literature by showing a relationship between video game content and behavior over a four year period.

Sociální sítě a sociální šikana / Social networks and social bullying

KUBÍČEK, Petr January 2014 (has links)
In my thesis I have focused on the issue of social networks and (social) bullying at elementary schools. In the first part of my paper I summarize the theoretical background and provide an overview of findings and opinions published by experts in relation to the issue of bullying and cyber-bullying, while in the second part of my paper I analyze the results of a research performed with the use of an anonymous questionnaire at four (4) elementary schools in the South Bohemia Region (Jihočeský kraj). The schools involved in the research were: two (2) schools with less than 270 pupils in the Prachatice region, one school with more than 270 pupils in the town of Prachatice and one school with more than 270 pupils in the city of České Budějovice. The purpose of the questionnaire investigation was to collect information on the extent in which aggressive behavior and cyber-bullying appear among pupils attending the 5th through 9th grades of the elementary school (age range 11-15). In the final part of the thesis I provide an overview of the results obtained through the research with the use of a BPAQ questionnaire (BussPerry Aggression Questionnaire and aggressive acts).
