Major Zeman: Verbální vyprávění a film / "Major Zeman": Comparative analysis of verbal narratives and TV serial presentations

Krausová, Martina January 2011 (has links)
The diploma thesis "Major Zeman": Comparative analysis of verbal narratives and TV serial presentations deals with two narrative media that depict the Zeman's story: a literary narrative by Jiří Procházka and its realization as TV series. Factors affecting the resulting form of both versions were identified by means of a gradual analysis of each of the versions. These factors were external interventions made by a management of a TV company and by its professional advisors as well as a mutual rivality of producers of the series. A focus to a TV audience and a literary ambition of Procházka, who attempted to step over the boundaries of a crimi genre, played their roles as well. These all resulted in two differently conceived fiction worlds. The narrative world, built on a myth-building principle, appears to be coherent, joined by an unifying ideological line. On the contrary, the TV series world appears to be scattered.

La Russkaja Jazykovaja Kartina Mira: teorie, metodi di analisi e applicazioni

VERSACE, MARIA 14 February 2011 (has links)
This dissertation represents the first extensive and updated research of the post-Soviet linguistic studies dedicated to Russkaja Jazykovaja Kartina Mira. These studies demonstrate the existence of specific language ideas through a semantic analysis of the keywords of the Russian language. As a consequence, these studies also display a perspective on the world vehiculated by the Russian language. The research opens with an investigation of the historical and cultural context that lead to RJaKM’s linguistic disposition and it shows the existing link between analysis on RJaKM and the development of the studies on lexical semantics. It also shows how western linguistics contributed to the evolution of Soviet linguistics. After mentioning the most authoritative and representative experts on RJaKM, such as Anna Wierzkicka’s School and the Moscow Semantic School for the Integrated Description of Language and Systematic Lexicography, this dissertation systematically and comparatively considers the theoretical principles at the base of both schools linguistic ideas and methods of semantic analysis, applying them to the Russian word ‘smirenie,’ and consequently evaluating their effectiveness. As an outcome, this research presents some possible applications of RJaKM and it indicates some innovative linguistic and lexicographic tools which were either employed or even produced at the bosom of RJaKM studies and are especially useful for the teaching of the Russian language and linguistics. In conclusion, this dissertation offers a final evaluation of the studied phenomena, defining new research paths in the fields of linguistics and cultural analysis.

Neologismus v lingvistickém, mediálním a běžném obrazu světa / Neologism in the linguistic, media and common picture of the world

Lišková, Michaela January 2018 (has links)
The aim of the interdisciplinary doctoral dissertation is to answer the research question What is a neologism? The research was inspired by the methodology relying on three types of data that J. Bartmiński specifies for studying stereotypes as part of the language picture of the world, i. e. systemic, textual and empirical data. Neologisms are expounded by confronting the linguistic, media and everyday picture of the world with the use an explicative characteristic including connotations of the concept. After introducing the neologism within the context of words marked stylistically with respect to time, the exposition is structured according to (non- homogeneous) criteria, on the basis of which neologisms in the reviewed literature are defined: the criterion of existence, the criterion of time, the lexicographic criterion, the psychological criterion, the structural criterion, the criterion of variety and the criterion of instability and stability. The media image of neologism was examined using the qualitative-quantitative method of content analysis in 93 media texts from 2006 and 2007, and 2016 and 2017. The empirical data were obtained by questionnaires from 2017 and 2018 with 100 respondents aged 11 to 81. In summary, the concept of neologisms is understood as a very heterogeneous one. A list...

Spánek a snění v českém obrazu světa / Sleep and dream in the Czech picture of the world

Bulak, Patrik January 2016 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the conceptual area of sleeping (including waking, dreaming etc.) based on the theories and methods of the cognitive-cultural approach to language. The first chapter deals with the human experience of sleeping. The conceptual area is interpreted both in relation to physical experience and as a part of the Central European cultural code. The second chapter concentrates on the concept and the approach of the linguistic picture of the world (e.g. Bartmiński, 2012), the detection and verification of the semantic connotations method (Bartmiński, Panasiuk, 2001), the conceptual metaphor theory (Lakoff, Johnson, 1980/2002), the cognitive conception of metonymy (cf. ibid), and the interaction between metaphor and metonymy (i.e. metaphtonymy, Goosens, 1990, 2002). The third chapter is based on the linguistic data excerpted from various Czech dictionaries and describes the conceptual area. First are introduced derivational nests, then relevant semantic relations and etymology of the selected terms (spát, bdít etc.). The chapter also analyses polysemy of the selected terms in detail, as well as polysemy of their derivatives. This part of the thesis presents the formulation of conceptual transmissions which are manifested in the given linguistic meanings. The fourth chapter is a...

Smrt, posmrtný život a umírání v jazykovém obrazu světa žáků českých a krajanských základních a středních škol / The Linguistic Picture of Death, Afterlife and Dying in Primary and Secondary School Pupils

Wildová, Zuzana January 2019 (has links)
The dissertation The Linguistic Picture of Death, Afterlife and Dying in Primary and Secondary School Pupils is devoted to the reconstruction of the linguistic picture of death in these groups of pupils, its mutual comparison and its comparison with the developed psychological concept of death. Furthermore, it describes how the taboo of this topic manifests itself in the pupils' linguistic picture of death and which modifications of the linguistic picture of the world are shown in the linguistic picture of death among pupils. In the first part, the dissertation deals with the concept of death in language and culture, and thus also with the linguistic and socio-cultural taboo of this phenomenon. We deal with the development of the conception of death in history and also the development of the concept of death of children and youth. The theoretical frame for this work is based on the methods of cognitive linguistics and its approach to linguistic research. We characterize this linguistic approach, its methods and the main representatives in the next part of the work. We use cognitive linguist methods not only for processing but also for collecting language data. In the third part, we analyze system, text and empirical language data. Textual data are derived from texts of intentional literature for...

At the same time our aim is to present Ostrava as a significant Czech cultural and social phenomenon evoked by such lexical units and structured by such conceptual means that are unmistakably "Ostravian" in the text...

Barvy v české a ruské frazeologii (Srovnávací analýza sémantiky pojmenování barev na základě korpusových dat a frazeologických slovníků) / Colours in Phraseology of Czech and Russian (Comparative Analysis of Colour Terms Semantics on the basis of Linguistic Corpora and Phraseological Dictionaries)

Timoshchenko, Tatiana January 2020 (has links)
This thesis deals with basic colour terms (in the conception of B. Berlin and P. Kay) in Czech and Russian idioms. The theoretical framework applied in this research incorporates the main tenets of cognitive semantics (the language is anthropocentric, it is interrelated with the mind, the lexical meaning is motivated by bodily experience of speakers, the categorization as a crucial way of reality interpretation). According to it the semantics of colour terms are presented as a structured mental category that consists of individual concepts (meanings), which are inter- linked with one another. The core of this thesis presents the analysis of the Czech and Russian dictionaries and the corpus data, in terms of which the prototypes of each colour term are revealed and visual schemes of their metaphorical and metonymic meaning extension are charted. The findings lead to designate the similarities and the differences in the meaning of studied terms, in particular to determinate some features, which are peculiar for linguistic worldview of Czech and Russian.

Особенности межкультурной коммуникации России и Казахстана в процессе евразийской интеграции (на примере ЕАЭС) : магистерская диссертация / Features of intercultural communication between Russia and Kazakhstan in the process of Eurasian integration (on the example of the EAEU)

Жанбаева, И. Л., Zhanbayeva, I. L. January 2022 (has links)
The master dissertation is devoted to the features of intercultural communication between Russia and Kazakhstan in the process of Eurasian integration (on the example of the EAEU). The purpose of this study is to analyze the intercultural communication of Russia and Kazakhstan in the Eurasian integration (using the example of the EAEU) and recommendations to specialists in intercultural communication on the development of a mechanism for intercultural communication in the Eurasian integration. The structure of the work consists of two chapters: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the theoretical aspects are considered: intercultural interaction in the context of the paradigms of globalization, integration; the phenomenon of intercultural communication as the interaction of two linguistic worldviews in Eurasian integration, as well as linguistic problems of intercultural communication in the Eurasian space. The practical part analyzes the source base, the internationality of political and economic terminology as a consequence of intercultural communication and globalization processes; connotations and symbols of culture, their interpretation in the intercultural communication of Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as recommendations are offered to specialists in intercultural communication on the development of a mechanism for intercultural communication in Eurasian integration. After analyzing a significant number of sources, it becomes obvious that participants in business communication of intercultural communication within the framework of Eurasian integration are characterized by a common presuppositive knowledge base, which is understood as the presence of preliminary information and knowledge, common everyday and professional experience. This can be explained by the long-term acquaintance of business communicants, mutual interests, joint long-term professional activity, short-term joint experience, important only for this statement.
