The object of research in this thesis is the interpretation of the holy proposed by German philosopher Martin Heidegger (1889 – 1976) on the basis of his reading of Friedrich Hölderlin’s (1770 – 1843) poem Wie wenn am Feiertage... (As on a holiday). Heidegger’s turning to Hölderlin’s poetry takes place due to a necessity intrinsic to the path of his own thinking. From 1930 onwards, when the so-called Heideggerian Kehre (“turn”) begins, the search for the meaning of Being continues to be the main issue for his thought. Heidegger proposes a search for the meaning of being which at the same time preserves its proper dynamics of manifestation, which is a dynamics of “giving itself” alternately as presence and/or absence. Poetry is considered by Heidegger as a special because higher kind of language which has the unique potential to preserve Being as mystery. In other words, poetry is able to think Being without exhausting it through impoverishing concepts. Hölderlin is, according to Heidegger, the poet who unlike any other knew how to sing the flight of the gods in a time of holy mourning. With Hölderlin, the space of manifestation of the holy is preserved in spite of the flight of the gods.

La religion de Rimbaud / The Religion of Rimbaud

Hammoudi, Rafika 16 December 2014 (has links)
Writing about the Religion of Rimbaud, implies, by necessity, an analysis of his anticlericalism and his tumultuous relationship with the religion of his youth : Christianity. However if these notions structure our study of Premières poésies and Une saison en enfer, they could not perform in the case of Derniers vers and Illuminations. Making us realize the necessity of opening the religious notion to its philosophical aspect. Then through its poetical work, Rimbaud suggests an interrogation on the sense of the existence and especially on Time, Memory and Space ; that is to say on the Poet and its cosmos. Appears at that moment, simultaneously positive and negative, his vision of the world : his opposition to Christianism and to its social conservative equivalent (Bourgeoisie) but also his affirmation of another reality in Idyll or urbanism. Moreover this religion could link his poetical work as a whole despite its heterogeneous apparence

Forough Farrokhzâd et la poésie française du XIXe siècle : pour une analyse comparée à travers la métaphore / Forough Farrokhzad and French poets of 19th : for a comparative analysis through the metaphor

Lotfinia, Tahereh 10 March 2016 (has links)
This thesis presents the poetry of Forough Farrokhzad, an Iranian poet of 20th century. Our research indicates the fact that the contemporary Iranian poets have been attentive readers of the 19th and 20th century’s French poetry which played a crucial role in their openness to modernity. Through the study of Forough Farrokhzad’s poetry we analyze these relationships via metaphor. This figure of speech, very ancient and prevalent in Iranian poetry, defines a new presentation of the images in this precursor poet. This study about Forough also evokes the feminine poetry in Iranian literature whether in its ancient or contemporary creations.

Odraz války a pojem povinnosti a důstojnosti v básni A.L.Tennysona Útok lehké kavalerie v porovnání s vybranými básněmi První světové války / The reflection of war and notion of duty and dignity in A.L.Tennyson's The Charge of the Light Brigade in comparison with selected poems of The First World War

Lychman, Illia January 2020 (has links)
The main theme of this thesis is English war poetry. The thesis refers to two particular wars, the Crimean (1853-1856) and World War One (1914-1918), and analyzes their reflection in English poetry. By doing so, it compares the war poems from these periods and inspects the writers' messages behind them. The thesis aims to scrutinize how the depiction of war had changed through time, alongside with the reasons affected it. In terms of structure, the theoretical part describes the different contexts (historical, cultural, and literary) of the chosen poems, while the practical part features scrutiny of these works. KEY WORDS Poetry, soldier, duty, death, attitude, criticism, propaganda

Exploring Use Cases for an Artificial Intelligence Poet

Yu, Shi January 2019 (has links)
I report on the iterative process of designing a mobile AI poetry system, along with a series of broad scale use cases in which different variants of the system has been tested in the wild. The project has so far resulted in the generation of about 20 million individual poems, co-created by the system together with millions of users. Apart from the design of the technical side of the system, my focus has been on how the system could be adapted to and deployed in different commercial settings. I discuss my insights related to systems support for creative processes, and how findings from these use cases could be applicable also to other AI content generation systems.

Readings Of Chinese Poet Xue Tao

Yu, Lu 01 January 2010 (has links) (PDF)
Xue Tao was one of the Tang Dynasty's best-known female poets. Her poems are beautiful and of her own style, but there have only been a few of studies on them. This study comprises nine close readings of her thirteen poems most of which can be defined as yongwu poems, as well as a conclusion which summarizes the main characteristics in these poems. The methodology of this research is based on the theory of New Criticism and combined with sinology. Every poem is studied as an independent entity, but its allusions and images are examined in the history of Chinese poetry. This study attempts to deepen the study of Xue Tao’s poetry and readers’ understanding of it.
