This work is characterized as a study concerning the new practical and the emergent ways of reading in the context of cyberspace, looking for to reflect on the new implications of these practical for the formation of the reader in the school. In this way, the objective amplest of the research was to characterize the reading in the screen of the computer - connected to the Internet - enter six students of the basic education of a public school of the city of Assis - SP. The students had been observed in situation of reading in the printed matter and the screen, searching, among others facts, to observe behaviors led of a support to the other (in such a way of the printed matter for the screen as of the screen for the printed matter). The methodology that guided the execution of the work was the study ethnographic of case, a time that was of our interest the elaboration of knowledge based in the comment in leases of human behavior. The collected data had been categorized on the basis of the reflected analysis of content and to the specialized bibliography light, where if they detach as authors central offices: Chartier (1999, 2001, 2002 e 2005), Eisenstein (1998), Nielsen (1997 e 2006), Bakhtin (2000 e 2004) and Mcluhan (1969 e 1972). As results, it was verified, from the actions of the showed students, that the reading in the screen is fast, an scanning of the text, where the reader must mobilize strategies of anticipation and forecast, the text and its passage of navigation. Moreover, the felt attribution of in the reading if gives by means of a process of union of fragments of information. The hipertextual experience makes of the reading co-author of the texts who reads. Finally, the ways had been analyzed emergent to operate the thought of the practical one of reading in the virtual environment, as well as its possible relation with other Medias.

Ruiz, Lissandra Mahnis. January 2005 (has links)
Abstract: The present work objectified to demonstrate as the process of information management in the production of a printed media, specifically, the magazine todateen. The research if structuralized, mainly, in the bibliographical research and registers, collating the historical moment for which had passed the magazines since that they had started in Brazil, until the present. Also to describe, minutely, the birth and the trajectory of the Alto Astral publishing company in its 19 years of existence, as well as following the trajectory of the magazine todateen, object of this study. The main contribution of this research was to demonstrate, for the focus of the information management, which the processes for which the information passes until changedding itself into knowledge, through its articles and sections, and being placed to its readers. / Mestre

Peroxide Sensing Using Nitrogen-Doped Screen-Printed Carbon Electrodes

Ogbu, Chidiebere, Bishop, Gregory, Dr. 12 April 2019 (has links)
Nitrogen-doped carbon materials such as carbon nanotubes and graphene have garnered much interest due to their abilities to behave as electrocatalysts for reactions important in energy production (e.g. oxygen reduction) and biosensing (e.g. hydrogen peroxide reduction). Electrocatalytic properties of these materials have been attributed to enhanced electron transfer ability exhibited by surface nitrogen atoms compared to typical carbon structures. Screen-printing has been widely employed in the production of low-cost carbon-based electrodes for sensors and biosensors. Here, we develop nitrogen-doped screen-printed carbon (N-SPCE) electrodes for detection of hydrogen peroxide - an important analyte in biosensing. Conductive ink was formulated in the lab from nitrogen-doped graphite that was produced using a simple urea-based soft nitriding technique. N-SPCEs exhibited electrocatalytic activity towards hydrogen peroxide reduction, while SPCEs prepared from unmodified carbon showed no ability to electrocatalytically reduce H2O2. Amperometric detection of H2O2 using N-SPCEs at an applied potential of -0.4 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) displayed a wide linear range of 20 µM to 5.3 mM, and a low limit of detection (2.4 µM). These performance characteristics compare favorably to other electrodes for H2O2 sensing and indicate that the low-cost, easy-to-prepare N-SPCEs described here are promising platforms for the development of biosensors.

Formulations for analysis of Probe-Fed printed antennas in SuperNEC

Mathekga, Mmamolatelo E. 30 March 2009 (has links)
Formulations for analysis of printed antenna structures are derived and compared, to determine one to implemented in SuperNEC based on the efficiency of its numerical solution in terms of memory usage and solution time. SuperNEC is a software application for computing the response of electromagnetic structures to electromagnetic fields. SuperNEC cannot be used for simulation of printed antenna structures. This is because the formulation that is implemented in SuperNEC does not account for the effect of the substrates that the radiating elements of the antenna structure are printed on, and it is also not intended for antenna structures whose radiating elements are surfaces. Two MoM (Method of Moments) formulations and a FEM (Finite Element Method)-MoM formulation are presented, together with different models for the antenna feed. The FEM-MoM formulation is selected for implementation in SuperNEC because it is argued that it is likely to be more memory efficient when compared to the MoM formulations, and also that less time is required to fill the matrices resulting from the numerical solution of the formulation. The formulation is implemented in a stand alone software application, which will be integrated into SuperNEC. Numerical results that are computed using the software application are presented to illustrate correct implementation of the formulation. The results are compared to: an exact solution, results from another publication, and results computed using a different formulation. Good agreement is obtained in each case.
