Este trabalho estuda o campo da edição de texto na produção editorial de livros no Brasil. O objetivo é apontar algumas distinções necessárias às pesquisas acadêmicas sobre edição de textos, e importantes para a formação de pesquisadores e profissionais. A proposta centra-se nas principais etapas (edição de texto, preparação de originais e revisão de provas) que compõem o processo por que passa um texto a ser transformado em livro. Parte-se de análise dos manuais de editoração e de pesquisas acadêmicas que tangenciam o tema. E articula-se um diálogo entre alguns trabalhos acadêmicos das áreas de psicolinguística e psicologia cognitiva sobre leitura em suas relações possíveis com os estudos em editoração e a experiência empírica dos editores de texto. Contribui-se, assim, para o aprimoramento dos conhecimentos sobre a edição de texto, entre eles: as etapas, os objetivos principais e secundários, as estratégias, as tarefas e um conjunto de elementos necessários para que um profissional atue como editor de texto consciente de sua intervenção. / It is the purpose of this thesis to study the field of text-editing in the Brazilian book publishing industry. Its main aim is to point out a few distinctions deemed necessary not only to the academic research but also to the formation of researchers and professionals in this particular field of study and work. In order to achieve this goal, the main phases the text goes through on its way to becoming a book -- text-editing, copy-editing and proofreading -- are here taken into account and characterized. Examining the available manuals and academic papers on the book editing field is the starting point of this research. It then goes on to promoting a dialogue between the book editing field and other areas of expertise, such as psycholinguistics and cognitive psychology, that also deal with the process of reading. The possible relationships this dialogue reveals and the actual praxis of text editing are then analyzed. Contributing to a better knowledge of what text-editing actually involves is therefore a primary aim of this thesis. It intends to shed some light on the specific phases, primary and secondary goals and strategies text-editing comprises, as well as on a series of elements needed not only for the praxis of text-editing itself but also for a more conscientious practice of this activity.

Esta pesquisa analisa o design do livro-objeto infantil e seus instrumentos lúdicos, categoria relacionada às produções recentes, e associada aos crescentes investimentos do setor editorial, principalmente, infantil, a partir de 1950. O livro-objeto é, aqui, compreendido como um produto de expressão artística passível de reprodução cuja narrativa é explorada por meio da manipulação. A relação do projeto gráfico com a estrutura lúdica tem como objetivo entender o processo de produção do livro-objeto. Os estudos de caso investigam essa relação nas obras de Pacovská e Munari, autores consagrados pelo uso da linguagem experimental. O estudo do livro-objeto ainda carece de bibliografia específica, por isso a construção teórica parte da junção de autores de áreas de conhecimento distintas. Esta dissertação está estruturada em quatro capítulos, abordando os temas de forma semelhante às encontradas em Perrot e Linden. O trabalho prático investiga possibilidades de projeto, ligando a teoria à produção. / This work aims to analyse both the design of book-object for children and its respective ludic instrument. This type of book has being recently published, and there is an increasing interest by the editorial sector, mainly after the 50\'s. The book-object is understood as a product of artistic expression and susceptible of to be reproduced. The narrative results from the interaction between the book and who is handling it. The relationship of graphic design with the ludic structure has the objective to understand the production process of the book-object. Books written by the famous authors Pacovská and Munari were chosen for the development of the case studies. These authors are quite well-known by their experimental books. This monograph contains four chapters, describing themes which are similar structured to the books written by Perrot and Linden. There is also included in this work a chapter about graphic experiments which search new possibilities for designing books.

We based our work on the main concepts of Flusser’s philosophy of black box, as well as several specific references in different areas of knowledge – such as Publishing, Education and Law –, what caracterizes this research as an interdisciplinary research. The researcher is a publishing professional and analyzed in a systematic way the publishing process, more specifically, the processes assigned to the art editor and iconographic process, identifying and classifying the internal and external factors to the publishing process that influence or determine the output of the process, the final content of the textbook. The internal factors identified are the pedagogical, organizational, financial and the stylistic/aesthetic ones. The external factors are the logistical, legal and government ones. The survey showed how such factors, hidden inside the black box of the publish process, influence the final content of images inside the textbook and suggests that such issues should be always considered in any analysis of this publishing and educational complex object. / A presente pesquisa tem como problema norteador identificar os principais fatores que influenciam na produção do livro didático e como estes fatores, internos e externos ao aparelho editorial, interferem na produção e seleção de conteúdo de imagens que serão publicadas e trabalhadas pelos alunos e professores de todo país. Como referencial teórico central foram utilizados os principais conceitos da filosofia da caixa-­‐preta de Vilém Flusser, além de diversas bibliografias específicas de áreas variadas do conhecimento – como Editoração, Educação e Direito –, caracterizando-­‐se, dessa maneira, como uma pesquisa interdisciplinar. O pesquisador, também um profissional da área editorial, analisou de forma sistêmica o processo editorial, mais especificamente os processos de edição de arte e de iconografia, identificando e classificando os fatores intra e extra-­‐editoriais que influenciam ou determinam o output do processo, o conteúdo final do livro didático. Dentre os fatores intra-­‐editoriais, temos os pedagógicos, organizacional, financeiros, além dos fatores estilísticos e estéticos. Já entre os fatores extra-­‐editoriais temos os logísticos, legais e governamentais. A pesquisa revelou como esses fatores, escondidos sob a caixa-­‐preta do processo editorial, influenciam diretamente no conteúdo final de imagens apresentado pelo livro didático e que devem ser sempre considerados para qualquer tipo de análise desse objeto editorial e educacional complexo.

A theoretical and methodological plan was adopted as a documentary research in the perspective of Aróstegui (2006), still associated with the theoretical precepts of Cultural History and with its interrelationship with Information Science. The research took as an analytical corpus four hundred and eight authors mainly male of Brazilian nationality in which they presented five hundred and thirty-four titles issued in their majority by Brazilian publishers, prevailingly the literary type. In respect to that we concluded that the newspapers are sources of information and memory of editorial production in Paraíba State and then we concluded the composition of this first edition. Notwithstanding, it s obvious that studying the newspaper << A Imprensa>> (The Press), seeking to understand its plots means realizing it as means of information and memory of the editorial production in Paraíba State, enabling in this way to understand the meanders of the production, circulation and advertising of literary works. / Analisa a produção editorial paraibana no período de 1912 a 1942, especificamente a produção contemplada nas colunas literárias Bibliographia, Livro e Livros Novos publicadas no Jornal doutrinário e noticioso <<A Imprensa>> criado no dia 27 de maio de 1897 pelo primeiro bispo e arcebispo na Paraíba Dom Adaucto Miranda Henriques. Adotou-se como plano teórico-metodológico a pesquisa documental na perspectiva de Aróstegui (2006), associada ainda aos preceitos teóricos da História Cultural e sua inter-relação com a Ciência da Informação. A pesquisa tomou como corpus analítico quatrocentos e oito autores, predominantemente masculino, de nacionalidade brasileira, no qual apresentaram quinhentos e trinta e quatro títulos de livros publicados, em sua maioria, pelas casas editoriais brasileiras prevalecendo o gênero literário. Nesse sentido concluiu-se que os jornais constituem fontes de informação e memória da produção editorial paraibana e, assim, fechamos a redação desta primeira edição. Contudo, fica patente que estudar o jornal <<A Imprensa>> buscando compreender suas tramas é percebê-lo enquanto veículo de informação e memória da produção editorial paraibana, possibilitando desse modo compreender os meandros da produção, circulação e divulgação de obras e seus respectivos autores, numa relação dialética entre o local e o nacional.

It analyses the scientific editorial production of EDUFRN, imbracing it as artifact memories. We applied the method of documental research according to Jardin (1998) and the thematic oral history, by Arostegui (2006) adding them to the analyse of contents, and documental analyse, by by Bardin (1977). In order to reach our objective we appealed to the theories of collective memory by Halbwachs (2006) and Ricouer (2007); of scientifc divulgation, by Targino (1999) and Bueno (2007); of documantation, by Jardin (1995) and others. We worked with the conception of artifacts of memory, by Gonzaléz de Gomez (2009), Azevedo Neto and Freire (2007) and concluded that the scientific works published by the Publisher, named in this work of documents are plenty of informations and memories. For this reason we called them memory workmanship. We suggest, among other things, that such artfacts could be preserved while cultural public inheritance. / Apresenta os resultados da pesquisa quanti-qualitativa Memórias da produção editorial científica da EDUFRN: 1962-1980, realizada no Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciência da Informação da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (PPGCI/UFPB). Analisa a produção editorial científica da EDUFRN, compreendendo-a como artefato de memória. Aplica os métodos da Pesquisa documental, conforme Gil (2006) e da Pesquisa história de história oral temática, de Aróstegui (2006), associando-os às análises documental, de Gil (2006), e de conteúdo, de Bardin (1977). Recorre às teorias de memória coletiva de Halbwachs (2006) e de Ricouer (2007); de divulgação científica, de Targino (1999), Bueno (2009) e outros, e de documentação, de Jardim (1995). Trabalha a concepção de artefatos de memória aplicada ao livro cientifico a partir da concepção de Gonzaléz de Goméz (2009), Azevedo Neto e Freire (2007). Conclui que as obras científicas publicadas pela Editora, denominadas nesse trabalho de documentos, estão repletas de informação e de memórias. Passa a chamá-las de artefatos memorialísticos e sugere, dentre outras coisas, a preservação, enquanto patrimônio público cultural.

Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul / This research is about schoolbooks, the ones published after the law 10.639/2003 and that brings the Afro-Brazilian right as main theme, and the teacher s adjustment, to promote the Education for all considering the Human Rights. The main idea of this study is around the question: what are the Afro-Brazilian representations from nominations, adjectives, actions, tensions, conflicts and negotiations that are present on the book s narratives? This study is relevant in recognition of the status of right of the Afro-Brazilians and the public politics need s for that. Therefore, considering this, one of the themes related here is the prejudice and the racism. The focus is on the dialogue about democratic and inclusive actions related to Education and the Afro-Brazilian culture as a part of the Brazilian culture, based on the symbolic level of the editorial and mediatic representations. The methodology is based on the bibliographic search and the uses of the narratology to analyses the selected products for the corpus. In addition to this, there are interviews with teachers to let us know more about their adjustment with the law 10.639/2003 and its schoolbooks. These teachers are from São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. / A proposta desta pesquisa tem como tema as produções editoriais didáticas embasadas na lei 10.639/2003 que trabalhem o direito à afro-brasilidade e a apropriação dos professores, afim da promoção da Educação inclusiva baseada nos Direitos Humanos. A questão central proposta para problematizar o tema está definida na pergunta: quais são as representações do afro-brasileiro a partir das nomeações, adjetivações, ações atribuídas, tensões, conflitos e negociações apresentados nestas narrativas? A justificativa de sua execução é a questão de reconhecimento de cidadania afro-brasileira e a necessidade de políticas públicas para tal, perpassando por questões ainda latentes na sociedade como o racismo. O objetivo geral deste estudo é promover o diálogo acerca de medidas democráticas e inclusivas relacionadas à Educação e à cultura afro-brasileira como parte também integrante da cultura brasileira, considerando para tal o nível simbólico das representações midiáticas editoriais. A metodologia é feita por base na pesquisa bibliográfica e no uso da narratologia para a análise das cartilhas selecionadas para o corpus. Além disso, é feito o uso de entrevistas fechadas para conhecermos as apropriações de professores de São Paulo e do Rio Grande do Sul acerca de produções editoriais didáticas voltadas à afro-brasilidade.
