No. of bitstreams: 1 arquivototal.pdf: 3681186 bytes, checksum: 39f5a6db772d507d3e97583e58baa77c (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-03-30 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / This dissertation results from research whose objective was to investigate the evolution process of the urban expansion of the southeastern sector of the city of João Pessoa PB, from a vector of urban expansion, the corridor of Avenida Pedro II and the areas located in its immediate surroundings. The spatial area encompassed from the neighborhood of the Torre until Mangabeira, area located at its end, the period that begins in the late 1930s with the emergence of the Torre, the first district to directly influence the corridor until the year of 2010. The analysis relies on the "model of the evolutionary logic of an urban expansion by Castex, Depaule and Panerai (1980, 2005, 2006), and is complemented by the study of the dynamics of urban segregation, proposed by Corrêa (1989). The results were presented according to the principal methodology adopted, and show that this sector of the city, was structured from investments in federal government, with emphasis on public housing. Currently, this urban space concentrates 20% of the population of the town of middle and low income, reflecting the occupation model adopted, which was imposed by the state.

Trend yields and the crop insurance program

Smith, Matthew K. January 1900 (has links)
Master of Agribusiness / Department of Agricultural Economics / Allen M. Featherstone / Multiple Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) is a federally subsidized crop insurance program designed to mitigate risk for farmers across the United States. Many changes in technology and weather have increased yields in recent years. This has caused some to argue for the crop insurance program to consider yield trends when setting yields for the producer. This thesis evaluates alternative Actual Production History (APH) methods for corn to determine differences in the methods and the resulting APH. The key issue to be evaluated is that a producer’s APH may not be reflective of their “yield goal.” The thesis examined how the APH can differ under alternative methods of calculating an APH. Some methods examined are currently used by the Risk Management Agency (RMA). Other methods are hypothetical alternatives. This study examines alternative methods on a national, county, and a farm level. This thesis demonstrates that adjusting APHs for yield trends provides a higher APH than an un-trended APH. The 7 Year Olympic Trended APH provides the highest APH in most cases for all the methods examined. The RMA Un-trended APH proved to provide the least yield on average for all methods examined. This demonstrates the importance of adjusting for yield trends to factor in agricultural technology advancements over time.

Pour une histoire esthétique et technique de la production animée : le cas de la Tôei Dôga (1956 - 1972) / For an aesthetic and technological history of animation production : the case of Tôei Dôga (1956-1972)

Pruvost-Delaspre, Marie 19 November 2014 (has links)
The Tôei Doga studio, founded in 1956, is the place in post-war Japan where was developped a new conception of animation, trained a large part of the technicians who will support the industry in the next decades, but also the place of emergence, integration and reinvention of Japanese animation. Indeed, if Hiroshi Okawa, who will run the studio until his death in 1971, seeks to define the structure as the "Disney of the East", the American model, eagerly copied, was also quickly set aside by Tôei, a process originating many technological innovations. Studied from an aesthetic and technical point of view, through a combination of a formal analysis of Tôei Dôga’s production from 1956 to 1971 and the systematic consideration of the animators’ testimonies and production documents, these innovations make a process of appropriation of the medium visible, questionning the history of technology. A crucial issue in the context of this dissertation also includes replacing as accurately as possible Tôei Dôga’s production in the vibrant economic and cultural environment of its time. This however does not necessarily involve an approach similar to that of cultural studies, but is rather seeking to combine, with tools borrowed from art history and cultural history, film material with the questioning of its "context." If the central issue here has been to implement, on an aesthetic and technical level, a history of the animation production process based on a careful study of available records, it appears that Tôei’s successive production models involve many artistic, political and strategic suggestions of what animation may be.

Metodologia para ajuste de historico de produção em campos de petroleo utilizando dados de saturação de perfis / Methodology for production history matching of petroleum fields utilizing logging saturation data

Grecco, Constantino Bornia 04 November 2008 (has links)
Orientador: Denis Jose Schiozer / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Engenharia Mecanica, Instituto de Geociencias / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-12T14:20:01Z (GMT). / Abstract: In the production history matching process, the reservoir simulation model is modified in a way that it becomes consistent with production data, keeping the observed restrictions of the geological characterization phase. This technique is limited, mainly in mature fields, when the production history is not reliable, or in the beginning of production, when there are only a few observed data and uncertainties are higher. The development of new saturation data acquisition tools, such as 4D seismic and TDT/TDM logging tools helped to overcome some difficulties in the geologic model construction phase but the great challenge is how to use this data in a way to improve the petroleum production. History matching methodologies integrated with saturation data from 4D seismic are available in literature but no publications that utilize saturation data obtained from well logging were found. The advantage of the logging tools is the data accuracy but, on the other hand, it is limited to a few feet around the wells. The main objective of this project is to integrate the traditional history matching process with logging saturation data, developing more reliable simulation models and production forecasts and assisting future decision making processes. The saturation data is utilized as a new parameter to be matched as well as an auxiliary tool to help to determine critical regions which will be modified. An assisted history matching methodology utilizing saturation data, streamlines and an optimization algorithm is proposed and applied to a synthetic reservoir model. Parameters of the process are studied and detailed, finding the best way to use the data. The model is also history matched with no saturation information and predictions of the matched models are compared, showing the benefits and restrictions of the new methodology. / Mestrado / Reservatórios e Gestão / Mestre em Ciências e Engenharia de Petróleo

Získávání znalostí z obchodních procesů / Business Process Mining

Skácel, Jan January 2015 (has links)
This thesis explains business process mining and it's principles. A substantial part is devoted to the problems of process discovery. Further, based on the analysis of specific manufacturing process are proposed three methods that are trying to identify shortcomings in the process. First discovers the manufacturing process and renders it into a graph. The second method uses simulator of production history to obtain products that may caused delays in the process. Acquired data are used to mine frequent itemsets. The third method tries to predict processing time on the selected workplace using asociation rules. Last two mentioned methods employ an algorithm Frequent Pattern Growth. The knowledge obtained from this thesis improve efficiency of the manufacturing process and enables better production planning.

Rod Bartoňů na zámku Nové Hrady / Family Bartoň from Dobenín on the castle Nové Hrady

Novotná, Jana January 2011 (has links)
This work describes industrial and knight family Bartoň from Dobenín situated on the castle Nové Hrady. I concentrated on the lifetime history of some important members of this family from the begining to the end of the 20th century. A special focus has been given on the castle Nové Hrady, which is extraordinary architectural jewel, situated in the Czech Republic. The castle Nové Hrady is connected with some important names, for example Jan Ludvík and Jan Antonín Harbuval de Chamaré or architect Josef Jäger and others. There is another important family of Čerych. The current owners Mr. and Mrs. Kučera are trying to bring back its previous glance. Were the members of the Bartoň family from Dobenín different from the ordinary people living in that time? Has the knighthood changed them in some way? You can find the answers in this work. Keywords: castle Nové Hrady, Harduval de Chamaré, Bartoňs from Dobenín, textile production, history, family of Čerych, Mr.and Mrs. Kučera, Náchod, benefactor

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof: 60 Years of American Dialogue on Sex, Gender, and the Nuclear Family

Brooks, Amy 23 March 2016 (has links)
This thesis is a two-part work. Its components, a written paper and a one-night symposium/film screening event entitled Tennessee Williams: Gender Play in 2015 and Beyond, have been closely coordinated with my dramaturgical research for the February 2015 University of Massachusetts Amherst Department of Theater production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The written inquiry is structured around a chronological, selected American production history of Cat; this history, rendered in a series of three case studies, will (1) synthesize preexisting analyses of Cat’s dramaturgical profile, its impact on American theater, and its position in Williams’s oeuvre; and (2) examine the interplay between this body of scholarship’s primary foci (e.g., gender, sexual identity, and family dysfunction) and the evolving cultural climate in which its subject, Cat, is perennially reinterpreted and restaged. In other words, my thesis reframes Cat as a series of inherently American—and potentially unanswerable—questions posed by Williams to his viewers; it then investigates the artistic and critical responses generated by sixty years of public engagement, or “dialogue,” with those questions. Ultimately, each case study will illustrate my central premise: that the value of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof lies in its ability to resonate, both in production design and reception, with the social, sexual, and domestic challenges of the period in which it is produced.
