To reach that aim, the most representative works were selected from authors who wrote between the periods: 1943-56 (Guaporé Federal Territory), 1956-81 (Rondônia Federal Territory) up to the consolidation of the Rondônia State, after 1981. The analysis focuses these authors’ speeches and reveals their political affiliation and places from where they spoke their feelings - such memory is understood as product of highly educated elite which builds up projects of representation aspects, of different kinds, which fight each other the speech control. In this sense, the local images of the traditional populations appear designed from stereotyped misconceptions and ideologically biased: the notion of demographic emptiness, the rainforest populations leveled to nature and the “bandeirante” as a civilizing hero. Thus, the reflections presented in this work, had had as base the election of a set of narratives in prose and poetry, as well as the representative images of the symbols of being able. Finally, this trajectory seeks to go through the inside of enunciation, dialoguing internally with its contradictions and pointing with respect to its continuities and recurrences.

No. of bitstreams: 1 MARALICE SILVA BORGES.pdf: 874787 bytes, checksum: 56e7335a1f36576830308a4ffc7f98c8 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2011-08-01 / This work is an analysis of the works of Lêda Selma de Alencar, which are characterized by a recurring set of images, dispersed in a multiplicity of textual forms. The chronic and the tales are the modalities of her prose, parallel to the production of poetic texts and poems or not. This dissertation examines the dialogue established between texts from different textual forms in poetic prose's entire Leda Selma, through literary corpus: Pois é filho ... (1997); Nem te conto…! (2000); Até Deus duvida (2002); Hum... Sei não! (2005); Eu, Hem?! (2008), which are meeting as chronicles and tales. In addition to the A dor da gente (1988); Sombras e sobras (2007); A deriva (2008), which are part of poems’ books. The proposal is guided by contributions dialogical and intextual of Bakhtin (2003) and basing themselves mainly by imaginary theory of Bachelard (1957) and added to formulations of Paul Ricouer (2000). The authoress interacts with the reader and both live new experiences and demonstrate a fascination with making poetic running through existing standards between prose and poetry.

Formes et fonctions des écrits de Hundertwasser / Forms and functions of Hundertwasser's writings

Hérault, Marie-Hélène 06 December 2018 (has links)
The research focuses on the abundant writing of Hundertwasser and its place in the positioning of this actor of artistic renewal. He is recognized for his singular "work-life", since, aiming to upset society, he has expanded his field, from painting to ecology, via architecture. Starting from the geohistorical context, from the pictorial background of the beginning of the 20th century, the theories of 20th-century German scientists and "prophets" and the emergence of environmental movements, it is a question of studying the many poems, stories, speeches, manifestos, interventions in the media and comments, where Hundertwasser exposes and develops his convictions. The aim is to show that the creative dynamic of the artist is rooted in his writings.

Cesare Pavese entre poésie et prose : l'enjeu du rythme, entre éthique et subjectivité / Cesare Pavese, between poetry and prose : the focus on rhythm : ethics and subjectivity

Ventimiglia, Sarah 05 December 2015 (has links)
In this thesis, we offer a reinterpretation of the early literary production of Cesare Pavese, in the 1930s. We do so by placing ourselves in a critical horizon that considers the socio-cultural trajectory of the author and by studying his artistic stances, as well as the distinctive qualities of his work. Our choice consists of three works - Ciau Masino, Lavorare stanca and Il carcere - which are among the less studied, excepted for the second one, of his writings (as opposed to his later works), and allows us to move the critical interest toward the genesis of the style of Pavese. Legitimized by his translations of Anglo-American literature, Pavese possesses already, at this stage, an original and pure «melodic vocation» (Mutterle), characterized by the systematic interdependence between poetry and prose. This research aims to show that the poetic work of Pavese is in a close relationship of interaction and correspondence with his narrative prose, through the construction of a possible rhythmic invariant. Reaching beyond the sterile opposition of poetry/prose goes in favour of establishing a piece of work that would stand fully by the side of the subject who writes and the author who expresses himself, by taking in consideration the rhythm as an unifying element, structuring at the same time the textual shaping, the contents and the ethical value of that work.

"Enough! or too much" : forms of textual excess in Blake, Wordsworth, Coleridge and De Quincey

Kellett, Lucy January 2016 (has links)
My thesis explores the potential and the peril of Romantic literature's increasingly complex forms through a close comparative study of the works of William Blake, William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Thomas De Quincey. These writers exemplify the Romantic predicament of how to make vision manifest – how to communicate one's imaginative and intellectual expansiveness without diminishing it. They sought different strategies for increasing the capacity of literary form, ostensibly in the hope of communicating more: clarifying meaning, increasing accessibility and intensifying original experience. But textual expansion – materially, stylistically and intellectually – often threatens more opportunities for confused and partial meanings to proliferate, overwhelming the reader by dividing texts and undermining attempts at coherent thought. Expansion thus becomes excess, with all its worrying associations of superfluity. To further complicate matters, Burke's influential tenet of the Sublime makes a virtue out of excess and obscurity, raising the problematic spectre of deliberately confused/confusing texts that embody an aesthetic of incomprehension. I explore these paradoxes through four types of 'textual excess' demonstrated by the writers under discussion: firstly, the tension between poetry and prose adjuncts, such as prefaces and notes, in Wordsworth and Coleridge; secondly, De Quincey's indulgent verbosity and struggle to control the freeing shapelessness of prose; thirdly, Wordsworth's and De Quincey's parallel experiences of revision as both uncontrollably diffusive and statically concentrated; and lastly, Blake's more deliberate, systematic attempt to enact a literary Sublime in which the reader is forced out of passivity by the competing demands of verbal and visual media. All are motivated and thwarted in varying degrees by their anxious preoccupation with saying "Enough", and the difficulty of determining when this becomes “Too much”. These authorial dilemmas also incorporate larger concerns with man's (over)ambition at a time of rapid and unprecedented economic, social and intellectual acceleration from the Enlightenment to industrialism. The fear that the concept and process of 'progress', or 'improvement', marks deficiency rather than fulfilment haunts Romantic writers.

Un disciple et ami d'Emile Zola ˸ Paul Alexis / Esthetics of the naturalistic fiction at the end of the XIXth century. A follower and a friend of Emile Zola ˸ Paul Alexis

Delolme, François 10 October 2018 (has links)
Paul Alexis (1847-1901) is mainly known as the closest friend of Zola. This is quoted as his main characteristic, almost as his unique definition. He is usually forgotten to be mentioned as also a writer who was very dedicated to a cause which had a huge significance in his life : Naturalism. This thesis tries to explore this double perspective. By studying books and newspaper articles written by this author, this work aims on the one hand, to explore his relationship with Zola, and, on the other hand, to focus on his personal designs, his deep convictions, as well as his connections with the other members of the movement. Primarily, in order to achieve this, this thesis scrutinises his personal and literary links with Zola. It shows the everyday life of a friendship which went through many challenges and changes. It analyses the striking moments which occurred during the course of their lives. It emphasises their common points of thought and tries to highlight the differences between the author of Germinal and the writer of Madam Meuriot, the last appearing to be the ultimate upholder of the naturalistic theories. Then, this project strives to precisely explain the personal ideas of this novelist, according to his theoretical views and to his works of fiction. It observes his restless involvement and the fights he led for the sake of his favourite topics such as : journalism, arts, theatre, politics... Finally, this work describes the actions Alexis carried out at the side of Zola, at the heart of the circle of Médan, but also in a more autonomous way, during major events in which he participated. This paper aims to clarify the huge issues he faced, such as the rise of naturalism or the Dreyfus affair, for example. The ultimate purpose of this PhD is to consider this character often slandered, sometimes neglected, a man who was more than a fellow traveller of Emile Zola.
