The aim consists in analysis of the corpus to comprehend the singularities of the signic framing of these objects in its media ambience. The justification lies in the fact that social networks progressively grow as the complexity of communication processes just as it increases the number of users and cyber activity mechanisms. This demonstrates relevance to the area of Communication. As problematic, it is understood that the combination between proverbs and images on Facebook establishes presence motivated by didactic, philosophical and aesthetic intentions, but is also part of the composition of an identity on the social network. The first chapter contains traditional definitions of proverb, considering its multiplicity of forms and characteristics. Following, it is displayed a set of structural theories and consecrated analysis by linguists and semioticians (Coseriu, Greimas, Zuluaga, Cândido, Pires Ferreira). Also, as this is not only the study of traditional proverbs, but, indeed, compositions between text and image conveyed in a cyber social network, there are also some concepts and theories about visual language (Flusser, Greimas, Volli). The second chapter presents theories and concepts of digital ambience (Flusser, Lévy) as well as factual information regarding the social network Facebook and its interaction mechanisms. The third chapter analyzes a corpus made up of fifteen (15) compositions "proverbs-images." These analysis mainly conform concepts of discursive semiotic (Greimas), since the idea is to remark the sense relations that are established between the proverbial message and choosen image, highlighting its semantic and formal processes / O trabalho tem como objeto de pesquisa composições de provérbios e imagens veiculadas por usuários da rede social da internet, Facebook. O objetivo consiste em analisar o corpus para compreender as singularidades da construção sígnica desses objetos inseridos em seus ambientes midiáticos. A justificativa reside no fato de as redes sociais crescerem progressivamente quanto à complexidade de processos de comunicação, à medida que aumenta o número de usuários e de mecanismos de atividade cibernética. Isso demonstra relevância para a área da Comunicação. Como problemática, percebe-se que a combinação entre provérbios e imagens no Facebook constitui presença motivada por intenções didáticas, filosóficas e estéticas, mas também é parte da composição de uma identidade na rede social. O primeiro capítulo contém definições tradicionais de provérbio, considerando sua multiplicidade de formas e características. Na sequência, exibe-se um conjunto de teorias estruturais e análises consagradas de linguistas e semiólogos (Coseriu, Greimas, Zuluaga, Cândido, Pires Ferreira). Como não se trata apenas do estudo de provérbios tradicionais, mas de composições entre texto e imagem veiculados em uma rede social cibernética, apresentam-se também alguns conceitos e teorias a respeito da linguagem visual (Flusser, Greimas, Volli). O segundo capítulo apresenta teorias e conceitos sobre ambientes digitais (Flusser, Levy), bem como informações factuais a respeito da rede social Facebook e seus mecanismos de interação. O terceiro capítulo analisa um corpus formado por 15 (quinze) composições “provérbios-imagens”. Essas análises seguem, principalmente, conceitos da semiótica discursiva (Greimas), já que a ideia é observar as relações de sentido que se estabelecem entre a mensagem proverbial e a imagem subposta, destacando seus processos semânticos e formais

Os provérbios utilizados como forma de argumentação nas crônicas de arte / The French proverbs utilized as argumentation in art chronicles

A análise dos provérbios franceses como argumentos requer um estudo prévio de suas origens, de seu papel histórico-cultural e de suas características. Os elementos principais que o diferem de outros gêneros de frase são o seu conteúdo sentencioso, a sua fixação formal que lhe permite ser reconhecido como frase autônoma, a sua natureza implicativa e sua relação com a natureza humana. Os provérbios nos textos atuam principalmente como uma transposição metafórica, mas possuem um duplo valor semântico que permeia entre o sentido hiponímico e o hiperonímico. Além disso, a subjetividade do gênero, permite uma debreagem do EU enunciativo, apoiando-se num enunciador não identificável e em múltiplas enunciações anteriores, constituindo assim um discurso de autoridade, que provém de uma sabedoria anônima incontestada. Todas estas propriedades linguísticas colaboram com a sua força argumentativa. Para a análise do provérbio como forma de argumentação foram utilizadas as três provas da retórica Aristotélica: o ETHOS, considerando o provérbio como elemento simbólico, que constroe o caráter do enunciador apoiando-se na tradição paremíaca, o PATHOS , à partir da hipótese da análise do provérbio como modalidade epistêmica, trabalhando com as supostas lexicalidades que estariam envolvidas na manipulação discursiva entre enunciador e enunciatário e, o LOGOS constituindo à partir das premissas argumentativas uma prova racional, baseada no silogismo e no entimema. O gênero de texto escolhido foi as crônicas de arte onde um provérbio serve como argumento, devido ao seu caráter atemporal, a sua riqueza estilística e a sua importância como meio de comunicação contemporâneo que através da arte contesta e polemiza comportamentos e padrões sociais de uma forma irônica e sutil. / The analysis of French proverbs as arguments requires a previous study of their origins, historical and cultural role and their characteristics. The main elements that differ them from other sentence genres are their sentence content, their fixed form that allows them to be recognized as an independent sentence, their implicative nature and their relationship with human nature. The proverbs in texts mainly act as a metaphorical trasnposition, but they have double semantic value permeating between the hipernymy and hyponymy sense. Additionally the genre subjectivity allows a débrayage of enunciative I on the basis of an unidentifiable enunciator and a number of previous enunciations, thus constituting an authority speech that derives from an unquestioned anonymous wisdom. All these linguistic properties cooperate with their argumentative force. To analyze the proverb as a form of argumentation, three proofs of Aristotelian rhetoric have been used : ETHOS considering the proverb as a symbolic element that creates the enunciator character on the basis of paroemiac tradition; PATHOS from the hypothesis of proverb analysis as an epistemic modality, working with the supposed lexicalities that would be involved in the discursive manipulation between enunciator and enunciatee; and, LOGOS constituting a reasonable proof from the argumentation premises on the bases of syllogism and enthymeme. The text genre chosen is the art chronicle in wich a proverb serves as an argument due to its non-temporal character, stylistic richness and importance as a means of contemporary communication that ironically and subtly contests and polemizes behaviors and social standards through art.

Este trabalho tem como objetivo pesquisar, demonstrar e analisar de que modo os aspectos da oralidade se manifestam no texto escrito jornalístico, mais precisamente em manchetes e títulos de notícias no Jornal da Tarde. Para tal proposta, buscamos verificar inicialmente o perfil do leitor de jornais e suas preferências de assuntos em uma época de informações rápidas e superficiais. Aliado a essa pesquisa, fizemos um estudo sobre a linguagem jornalística que, de forma recorrente, apresenta linguagem cotidiana vinculada aos fenômenos da língua falada e da língua escrita, que são bem explorados pelo jornal. Concentramos, assim, nosso trabalho em estudos específicos sobre a manchete e títulos de notícias que dão visibilidade às notícias veiculadas pelos jornais e têm o propósito de chamar a atenção do leitor. Selecionamos as manchetes e títulos de notícias que tiveram como base, frases proverbiais. Essas fórmulas fixas, entretanto, sofreram adaptações que chamamos de reenunciação e retextualização (détournement). Essa retextualização provoca efeito de humor, crítica ou ironia ao parodiar o provérbio original que é uma das formas de se empregar a linguagem mais distensa para chamar a atenção do leitor. Todo esse processo de pesquisa e análise baseou-se na Análise do Discurso, na Análise da Conversação, estudos sobre a linguagem jornalística e trabalhos sobre provérbios. Como os provérbios são perpetuados na memória coletiva, ao serem retextualizados evidenciam a criatividade do enunciador das manchetes e títulos de notícias que transforma o perene, o previsível no inusitado para surpreender o leitor como é o caso do Jornal da Tarde. / The aim of this paper is to research, demonstrate and analyze in which way the aspects of orality are expressed in the journalist written text, more precisely in headlines and news titles from Jornal da Tarde. For such proposal, we initially intend to verify the profile of newspaper readers and their subject preferences in a time of fast and superficial information. Within this research, a study about journalistic language has been made, which presents. The current language joined to the spoken and written language phenomena which are well explored by the newspaper. Our paper is concentrated in specific studies about the headline and news titles which give sight to the news printed by the newspaper and have the aim of calling the readers attention. The headlines and news titles, which were based on proverbial sentences, have been selected. However, these fixed formulas got adapted, which is called reenunciation and retextualization (détournement). This retextualization provokes humor, critic or ironic effect in parodying the original proverb which is a way of using the looser language to call the readers attention. All this research and analyze process was based in Discourse Analysis, Conversation Analysis, studies about journalistic language and papers about proverbs. As the proverbs are perpetuated in people memory, as soon as they are retextualized, they evidence the creativity of the headline and news titles announcer which changes the perennial, the predictable to the unexpected to surprise the reader, as seen in Jornal da Tarde.

Malgré la diversité des territoires qui constituent la région caribéenne, sur le plan linguistique, ils ont en commun une même culture, celle de la créolité. Dans cette perspective, cette étude se propose d’étudier la synergie linguistique qui ressortirait d’une comparaison des proverbes créoles de la Caraïbe francophone et anglophone. Outre la question, parfois controversée, de l’origine des proverbes, l’objectif principal sera de trouver les convergences et les superpositions, tous les rapprochements entre les proverbes, le rôle joué par la littérature dans leur conservation et leur transmission intra et inter-linguistique et d’observer les modifications qu’ils ont pu subir. L’étude de l’impact de la mondialisation sur la traduction des textes de la Caraïbe, qui appartiennent à une tradition d’oralité, permettra de comprendre les phénomènes de transmission. Loin de se situer en opposition à la théorie Bermanienne sur la destruction des réseaux vernaculaires, ce travail visera à démontrer que la traduction des proverbes créoles dans le cadre même de la créolité offre justement la solution la plus en adéquation dans sa dimension culturelle, celle qui permet de les maintenir dans leur territorialité. / Despite the diversity of the Caribbean territories, they all share the same culture: Creoleness. In light of this, the present research proposes to study the linguistic synergy that is evident in a comparative study of Creole proverbs from the francophone and Anglophone Caribbean. Apart from the controversial issue of the origin of these proverbs, the main aim is to find the convergent points as well as any relationships between the proverbs, the role that literature plays in their preservation and their intra- and inter-linguistic transmission. A study of the impact of globalization on the translation of Caribbean texts, which are a part of oral tradition, will help to understand the phenomena underlining their transmission. Not aiming to contradict Berman’s theory on the destruction of vernacular links, this work will try to show that translating Creole proverbs in the context of Creoleness offers the best possible solution in light of cultural and regional factors.

The Limits of Wisdom and the Dialectic of Desire

<p>It is fair to identify the motive of this dissertation with the paradoxical formulation of Gerhard von Rad, to the effect that the essence of biblical Wisdom is disclosed where the sages articulate this wisdom as inherently limited. This coincidence of opposites has been widely embraced by commentators and read as evidence for the sages' encounter with an infinite divine transcendence, to which they responded in humility, and by which their epistemological certitudes were rebuked. Proceeding from these assumptions, the interpretation of Proverbs has widely concerned itself with two nodal points: (1) the fear-of YHWH as the central concept in Proverbs' articulation wisdom as a finite human operation, conducted in the presence of an infinite divine; and (2) the figuration of this sublime experience in the iconic form of Woman-Wisdom. </p><p>The hypothesis of von Rad lends itself to another trajectory that prioritizes immanence over transcendence. On this reading, the limit of Wisdom lies not between its mere appearance for us (i.e. finite human subjects) and its essential being in itself (corresponding to a noumenal, divine beyond) but rather runs through the field of appearance, which cannot be rendered coherent by the sages' discursive intervention. This non-symbolizable yet immanent check on the sages' wisdom is analyzed in terms of Lacan's Real, a kernel of being (in psychoanalytic terms, jouissance) entirely beyond the signified that nevertheless arises out of the operations of signification. If discourse is thus intrinsically self-defeating, the status of transcendence should re-evaulated with respect to "limit." Transcendence is not the site that disturbs the Symbolic field, but rather the aporetic conditions of linguistic meaning rely on an externalizing process--what I have called a "poetics of making transcendent"-- for a given discourse to maintain its own coherence, i.e. as that which would be coherent if not for the contingent, impossible object. The fear-of YHWH and Woman-Wisdom, whose importance no one disputes, are re-read from this perspective: the former according to Lacan's concept of the Master-Signifier, the latter according to object (a), the object cause of desire.</p> / Dissertation

Taiwanese Languages Curriculum in a Third Grade Class of Elementary school Li-Shu Huang Abstract This is a case study on a grade three class in Kaohsiung municipal Da-Ai (A pseudonym) elementary school. The core issue was to teach Taiwanese proverbs with the integration of gender equity ideas, including topics of based on ¡§gender equity in a multi-culture society¡¨ and ¡§related issues in gender rights and interests¡¨ in the Nine-Year Integrated Curriculum Guidelines. The purposes of the study was to discuss the development process of gender concepts of grade three students in elementary school before and after taking the integrated course instruction, to know the academic achievements and the predicaments of students¡¦ learning. This research adopted qualitative research methods for collecting data by observations, interviews, worksheets and reflection checklists; to analyze data with frequency & T-test statistics, and then to make conclusions and suggestions wishing to be a reference in future integrated instruction. According to the above research purposes, the conclusions were as follows¡G A. Students¡¦ gender equity awareness¡G 1. Before instructions, students have their own gender stereotypes. 2. The students¡¦ stereotypes can be clarified and the viewpoints of gender equity can be built through instructions. 3. Through learning and sharing, the students can learn how to protect their body, deal with the crises and estblish the human relations. B. Integrated curriculum instruction¡G 1. The use of multiple instructions can stimulate reflections on gender concepts from both teachers and students. 2. The students admired the attempts of integrating gender equity ideas into Taiwanese language instruction. 3. The instruction can raise parents¡¦ attention toward children¡¦s gender attitude. 4. The integration of gender equity ideas into Taiwanese language curriculum ¡® instruction can have positive inpact on boys and girls¡¦ gender awareness, particularly in the case of girls. 5. Multiple instruction models of Taiwanese language curriculum can raise the interests on students¡¦ learning. 6. The integration of gender equity ideas into Taiwanese language curriculum ¡® instruction can help students use Taiwanese in their daily lives. Based on the findings, the researcher provided several suggestions as follows¡G A. We should implement gender equity education with the help of household education. B. We should create an envivonment with non-sexual discrimination and stereotype learning in order to support the teachers implementing multiple instructions. C. The teachers should develop reflecting abilities on gender concepts. D. The integration of gender equity ideas into Taiwanese should be diversified. E. The teacher self-made inventory on gender equity attitude should be further revised. F. The number of research class and samples should be increased.
