O livro no fim do livro: perspectivas para o leitor, autor e editor brasileiro sob a ótica da popularização dos novos dispositivos de leitura digital / The book at the end of the book: Prospects for the brazilian reader, author and publisher from the perspective of the popularization of the new digital reading devices.Wesley Augusto Nogueira 29 August 2013 (has links)
This study aims to examine the relationship between the book and its main social actors, the reader, the author and the publisher, in scope of the popularization of ereaders, by research on the circumstances in which the introduction of the digital book can affect the structures of production, circulation and appropriation of biographical information. We used to do this, an extensive survey of works and documents about the story of book publishing in Brazil, as well as theoretical references for the digital book publishing, reading practices and copyright, supported by statistical data market, about the perspective of its production and circulation, and social penetration of reading and devices. We understand, as a result, that the roles of the productive circuit of the book can be streamlined by the resources provided by the book and digital networks.

Webbpublicering av elevaktiviteter : en deskriptiv studie av gymnasieelevernas upplevelser / Web publishing of student activities : a descriptive study on the experiences of high school studentsWahlquist, Ragne January 2011 (has links)
The aim of the present study is to describe the experiences of high school students as regards the effects of their activities, in and out of lessons, being published on the web. In addition, a further purpose is to acquire knowledge about whether a website could be used as means of increasing the students level of attention, and focus, to their activities in school; and, furthermore, how such a website should be designed to correspond with the students requests. The implemented methods are interviews with students, school administrators and teachers. A survey was conducted covering the student’s personal experiences and opinions. Furthermore, an interface test of the website was performed. Grades and absences from earlier students were also included in the study. According to the interviews the students experienced that they were affected by the increased level of attention but also that their fellow-students were more affected than they were themselves; and, furthermore, higher grades and fewer absences were registered. The study was conducted at a high school in Stockholm where courses in art and design, with concentrations in industrial design, architecture and urban planning are offered in the Technical Program. Altogether 62 students were included while doing their first year of a total of three years.

Creating 'space' for publication: challenges faced by women academic staff members at historically Black South African universitiesMaurtin-Cairncross, Anita January 2003 (has links)
Philosophiae Doctor - PhD / In this study an attempt was made to explore the challenges with regard to publications experienced by academic women at three selected Historically Black Universities (HBUs). Although based predominantly within a feminist qualitative metholodogical framework, both qualitative and quantitative research methods were used in this study. Based on the findings of the study, the recommendations illustrated participants' responses. Some of the recommendations illustrated participants' expressed need of staff development with a specific focus on training in publication skills; mentoring and support networks; assistance and support for their publishing venture at both institutional and departmental level and the development of strategies that would assist academic women in 'juggling' their personal and academic roles. / South Africa
