The number of mobile phones has increased considerably in recent years. With this, the uses for them has also increased. One of the applications is mobile payment, where mobile phone users can pay with their mobile phone just as if they had used a debit or credit card. Mobile payment is something that has become big in many markets in the world but not in Sweden, a country where mobile phone usage is high. The purpose of this study was to examine the factors that influence whether Swedish consumers are willing to use mobile payment or not and the degree to which these factors come into effect. We began by studying the factors that played an important role in similar markets, and based on those, we presented a number of hypotheses for what affects the adoption of mobile payment. To examine the consumer views, we used a survey that was spread on the web and in person to the general public in a city in Sweden. To analyze the retrieved data, we used linear regression analysis. We finally came to the conclusion that the factors that influence whether Swedish consumers want to use mobile payment or not are trust, perceived usefulness and personal innovation.

De l'art mobile au Mobile Art : ou comment la technologie mobile influence la nature des oeuvres / From mobility in art to Mobile Art : or how mobile technology does affect the nature of artworksDesjardins, Marie-Laure 24 January 2017 (has links)
The outburst of exchanges via Internet and the multiplication of connected devices -number one being the Smartphone which arrived in 2007 -characterize the beginning of the XXIst century. Ali these devices enable us to receive or send different forms of information (voice messages, images, videos, texts, and so on). These new ways of communicating and their new uses have been greatly developed and diversified ever since. There are now billions of Smartphone users around the world. This massive use of the Smartphone utterly transformed everyone's habits, whatever the generation, the gender, the socio-professional category, the cultural background, the geographical area ... After flooding the plane! and then ente1ing the artistic sphere, this device has been adopted by artists and is now playing a very special part in their creative process: first mere food for thought, the Smartphone characterised by a complex technology and a lot of functions has become a tool as well as a space for experimenting and exhibiting, a means to transmit and to spread any idea, information or creative work ... It is connected, tactile and responsible for a new kind of proximity and relationship between artists and their public. The artistic practices and artworks in which the Smartphone is used, though highly diverse, nevertheless belong to a consistent corpus, the underlying motivations of which being different from what generally characterises an artwork. The power of Mobile Art lays in its ability to adapt and to transform itself. Imagination is able to continuously extend beyond technology to bring itself within everyone's reach. It is a democratic, desacralized and popular art.

Use cases for traceability systems : An explanatory case study about the application areas for QR codesStrömberg, Oliver January 2023 (has links)
The customer concept becomes more intertwined with the provider of products as serviceoriented business models is offered to the customer. This shift is referred as servitization in which innovation occurs in the company processes by shifting focus from providing products to providing product service systems (PSS). However, the servitization of the manufacturing industry has been slow compared to other sectors and there are many barriers to overcome for the transformation. Use phase data could be used as an enabler to resolve barriers to PSS. The collection of use phase data could be done through the usage of automatic identification technologies like QR codes. Despite the promising opportunities with collection of use phase data there are many challenges. Among them are the identification of use cases for the data. This study therefore aimed to identify both use cases and needed use phase data when collecting data using QR codes. The manufacturing company Bosch Rexroth AB and their service department were chosen as a case study company, to establish their view on the use cases for QR codes. Additionally, a literature review identified the use phase data need for each use cases derived from the theory. The collected data was analyzed through an explanation building analysis in which plausible and rival explanations to the result was brought up. This resulted in five identified use cases for QR codes and from the use cases one identified need for use phase data. The identified use cases mainly providing value to the provider were derivation of new products or services and improvement of current products or services. The identified use cases mainly providing value to the external customer were the offering of predictive maintenance, the assistance in operations and the creation of a digital passport or image. The identified use phase data need was service data but also additional product related data that does not concern use phase of the products was also needed for the use cases.

Balancing Security and Efficiency in Isolated QR Code-Based Authentication Systems in Real EstateSeeth, Axel, Fors, Robin January 2024 (has links)
Background. As the real estate sector increasingly integrates smart technology, the security of access control systems like QR code-based authentication needs rigorous enhancement. The prevalent use of QR codes in access management presents unique challenges in security and power efficiency, particularly in standalone systems that operate independently of continuous power sources. Objectives. This thesis aims to develop and explore a secure and efficient QR code-based authentication system tailored for real estate. It focuses on improving security measures against potential breaches and optimising power consumption to extend the lifespan of battery-operated devices. Methods. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, beginning with a comprehensive analysis of existing QR code-based systems to identify common vulnerabilities through threat modeling and a literature review. This is followed by the development of a security framework that addresses these vulnerabilities while considering hardware limitations. The performance of the suggested solution is evaluated. Lastly, a Proof of Concept (PoC) is implemented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed solutions under simulated real-world conditions. Results. The study successfully identifies multiple security vulnerabilities in current QR code systems and introduces a security model that mitigates these risks effectively. The implemented PoC demonstrates a improvement in security without compromising the power efficiency of the authentication system. Power consumption measurements indicate a balanced trade-off between system security and operational longevity. Conclusions. The thesis concludes that enhancing QR code-based authentication systems with a security framework can elevate the security level while maintaining efficient power use. This research contributes to the field by providing a scalable model for secure real estate management that can adapt to various operational environments and hardware configurations. / Bakgrund.
