Specifika marketingového výzkumu u dětí / Specifications of marketing research conducted with underage respondentsČepek, Michal January 2012 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the ethics of marketing research conducted with underage respondents. Child security is a very hot topic these days; therefore the field of market research should use only methods tolerated by parents. Global as well as local market research associations regularly publish codes of conduct and guidelines dealing with the ethics in market research. However, they define only basic rules and regulations and do not reflect the specificity of each method and technique. The goal of this diploma thesis is to identify methods used in market research that are not perceived as ethical by parents. Results should motivate research agencies to eliminate using such methods or at least modify them to decrease the level of controversy among general public. In order to identify unethically perceived market research methods, the author of the thesis conducted a quantitative research among the needed target group: parents of school kids. The survey found 5 methods that are considered ethical and thus do not pose any significant threat to the industry of market research: taste test, observation, product test, eye-tracking and communication test. Two methods were labeled as unethical by the respondents: field experiment and online discussion groups. Those methods can be used without any major changes provided that agencies communicate openly with parents all details regarding the research. They have to make sure that parents understand the methodology and are sure to let their children participate in such a project. Finally, three methods were recognized as highly unethical or even illegal: neuromarketing, netnography and geolocation (geomarketing). These methods carry a high probability of damaging the positive image of market research industry among general public. Less than one quarter of respondents consider these methods as suitable for use with kids and at the same time more than 25 % of parents think that those methods are illegal. In case of neuromarketing, it is recommended to firstly explain the used methodology in detail and, if possible, demonstrate its 100 % safety in presence of a doctor. Netnography was evaluated as highly unethical. On the other hand, it is a type of observation; therefore, its use in reality is unlikely to be registered by public. As a result, there does not have to be any severe steps taken to regulate this method. Geolocation scored as the most unethical market research method in the survey. This method is therefore not recommended for use as it carries an enormous risk of damaging the whole market research industry.

Optimalizace procesu náboru žadatelů o spotřebitelský úvěr - případová studie / Optimizing the recruitment process applicants for consumer credit - case StudyMoudrý, Vojtěch January 2011 (has links)
This thesis is focused on analyzing the process of an online request for a consumer loan. It targets its weak points and creates a set of recommendations that should lead to more user - friendly environment. In the theoretical part, the thesis covers issues of consumer loans and explains topics from user testing and usability. It also describes methodology of the research. The practical part of this thesis is centered around a general simulation model, which was created based on the previous analysis. With this model and using selected methods the thesis identifies critical points common to most tested participants. Based on the results of the user testing, recommendations are made to resolve these issues. The general model was modified according to the validity of these recommendations and then subjected to re-testing. This thesis is unique for the use of an eye-tracking camera among other methods.

Videography on the Way to the Analytical Short Film: Managing the ambiguity in interaction regarding video materialPrantl, Daniel, Wallbaum, Christopher 23 July 2019 (has links)
This chapter gives a brief overview of research methods using video material, lead by the question how these manage the ambiguity lying in interaction regarding this footage. The argument is put forward that, from a perspective of symbolic interactionism, in order to adequately make assertions regarding video material it is necessary to use video itself as a key statement in scientific discourse.

Exploratory study of psychological distress as understood by Pentecostal pastorsMabitsela, Lethabo 18 February 2003 (has links)
The study is an exploratory investigation of Pentecostal pastors' perceptions on psychological distress, using grounded theory. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with five senior pastors, of Pentecostal churches in Soshanguve township located near Pretoria in South Africa. Data was analysed using open, axial and selective qualitative research methods. Verification of the results by the participants enhanced the validity and reliability of the research. Results indicate that there seems to be certain similarities between the established frameworks in psychology and the worldview of pastors with regard to psychological distress. It seems as if the pastors share common views about psychological distress with the medical, interpersonal and cognitive schools of thought. Therefore, psychological distress would be regarded as impairment in the social and occupational life spheres. The pastors' referral patterns and strategies to deal with religious clients' psychological distress are discussed, as well as their limitations as mental health care workers for their communities. It is suggested that, to bring psychological services to the black community, psychologists form collaborative relationships with Pentecostal pastors. / Thesis (MA(Clinical Psychology))--University of Pretoria, 2003. / Psychology / unrestricted

Embryology in medical education: a mixed methods study and phenomenology of faculty and first year medical studentsCassidy, Keely Marie 14 December 2015 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / The anatomical sciences are experiencing a notable decrease in the time and resources devoted to embryology in North American medical education. With more changes assured, it is necessary to investigate the current trends in curriculum, pedagogy, and related experiences of embryology teachers and learners. To address these concerns, the researcher developed two online mixed methods surveys: one for current anatomy and embryology faculty and another for first year medical students. The faculty survey was followed by interviews with volunteers from that cohort. The researcher used a grounded theory methodology to analyze the qualitative components of the surveys, and descriptive statistics to analyze the quantitative components of the surveys. Both the faculty and student surveys illuminated the vast differences between the explicit, implicit, and null curricular components found in the numerous medical education programs represented. A combined grounded theory methodology and phenomenological approach was used to analyze the interviews with faculty. This generated a lived experience narrative of the phenomenon of teaching embryological content to medical students in the modern world, which led to a better understanding of the needs and challenges that face this subject matter and those who teach it. In this fluid era of medical education reform and integration, the perceptions and experiences of anatomy and embryology faculty and first year medical students are invaluable to assessing the curriculum and pedagogy of this foundational anatomical science and formulating evidence-based recommendations for the future.
