Practical implementation of SCRUM and associated practices

Girot, Etienne January 2013 (has links)
Even though Scrum is nowadays widely known in the Software Industry field and its theoretical frame extensively described in the literature, its implementation is far from being straightforward. As a matter of fact, the literature describes a meta-process that new practitioners must adapt to their project specific constraints. However, this practical aspect is crucial and very scarcely tackled. To that extend, this thesis work describes the difficulties we faced while putting Scrum into practice and how, through the study of the project contextual factors, the insight of a Proof Of Concept and the support of a couple of agile practices, we worked it out.

Scrum - en analys av praktik och problematik

Jungstedt, Philip, Moy, Charlie January 2015 (has links)
Agila metoder blir allt vanligare bland IT företag i hela världen.

Hedberg, Stefan January 2011 (has links)
Systems development methods has always been an important part of the systems development process. It affects not only the product, but also the organization itself. Today more and more companies are abandoning the more rigid traditional methods for the more flexible agile ones. A transition like this is bound to affect the product and the organization, but in what ways? Is it a difficult transition to make, and how does it affect social environment and dynamics? Does it change how people communicate information to each other? This study was conducted at a local branch of a larger international IT-company. The company had recently switched from a traditional waterfall method to the agile method Scrum. The study’s aim was to see if and how this transition caused any changes in the way that the company develops their artifacts. A characteristic for Scrum is that people collaborate in small self-organizing teams. How is this affecting the social structures and the relationships between individuals? The study is of qualitative nature, where semi-structured interviews were conducted with people from the different Scrum teams. The study has shown that this kind of transition takes time, but that people are positive towards its benefits. The fact that individuals are no longer isolated with their own task, but are instead working closely together with their team members has led to, perhaps less, but better and more accurate products. To be in a tight team with a common goal has also made people more content with their social exchange and work situation, which positively affects moral. The physical closeness to the team has led to improvements in the communication and collaboration between teammembers. However it has also had the effect that the communication and collaboration with the other teams have deteriorated, due to the teams having differing ways of working, differing norms and differing goals.

Modelo de servicio ágil bajo demanda de gestión del servicio de trabajo doméstico: caso peruano de estudio / Agile service model under demand for domestic work service management: A Peruvian case study

Muñoz A., Muñoz, Ana, Herrera, Jared, Torres, Carlos, Quispe, Grimaldo, Raymundo, Carlos January 2018 (has links)

Secure Scrum During the Development of a Configuration Tool for Generic Workflow

Paulsson, Joel, Westberg, Charlotta January 2010 (has links)
Secure Scrum is a framework that integrates security into Scrum. In this thesis Secure Scrum has been evaluated in the development environment at Medius. An aim for the thesis was to implement a configuration tool for the module Generic Workflow in Medius’ product MediusFlowTM. In order to evaluate Secure Scrum, this framework has been used during the development of the configuration tool. Before this thesis began a configuration tool existed but it was Medius’ wish that this configuration tool was redesigned and rewritten. The requirements for the configuration tool were to meet the functionality with the previous configuration tool and add some new functionality. The new implementation of the configuration tool fulfills these requirements successfully. The results of the evaluation of Secure Scrum is that the usage of it during development of the configuration tool went smoothly, and the conclusion of this is that Secure Scrum is a flexible framework that was easily adapted to a smaller development team and a project lifetime of a few months.

Scrum och Covid-19 : Så appliceras Scrum vid distansarbete / Scrum and Covid-19 : Scrum application in distributed teams

Gröning, Gustaf, Bizzarri, André January 2021 (has links)

Backlund, Johan, Eriksson, Johan January 2013 (has links)
Currently many organizations are transitioning from the traditional approach to the agile approach regarding systems development methods. It is evident that research has mainly focused on smaller organizations transitioning, whilst less focus has been given t0 larger organizations. We find this interesting and the purpose of this study is to gain a deeper and broader knowledge concerning the following research question: How is system development work affected by a change from traditional system development methods to Scrum in large global organizations. We also investigate how Scrum can be adapted to complex projects with an internal client. The study is based on a case study, which takes a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews for information gathering and was conducted on a major Swedish telecom company. The company initiated the transition process approximately two years ago, with the transition still ongoing. The study indicates that the main reason for adopting the agile way of working was to optimize the development process by enhancing the effectiveness. Furthermore additional effects that were gained due to the change, for example a higher grade of team spirit and a more transparent development process. Furthermore we identified where the organization had made changes on the method, Scrum, this due to different reasons such as company size and the complex nature of the projects. Finally, the study showed that even though an organization choose to embrace agile methods, the practical context in which it is introduced can lead to it being adapted to the point where it deviates from its most central theoretical underpinnings.
