Produktkonfigurator

Björkman, Lucas, Erixon, Jimmy January 2010 (has links)

Multi-View Video Transmission over the Internet

Abdullah Jan, Mirza, Ahsan, Mahmododfateh January 2010 (has links)
3D television using multiple views rendering is receiving increasing interest. In this technology a number of video sequences are transmitted simultaneously and provides a larger view of the scene or stereoscopic viewing experience. With two views stereoscopic rendition is possible. Nowadays 3D displays are available that are capable of displaying several views simultaneously and the user is able to see different views by moving his head. The thesis work aims at implementing a demonstration system with a number of simultaneous views. The system will include two cameras, computers at both the transmitting and receiving end and a multi-view display. Besides setting up the hardware, the main task is to implement software so that the transmission can be done over an IP-network. This thesis report includes an overview and experiences of similar published systems, the implementation of real time video, its compression, encoding, and transmission over the internet with the help of socket programming and finally the multi-view display in 3D format.  This report also describes the design considerations more precisely regarding the video coding and network protocols.

Making sense of spatial, sensor and temporal information for context modeling

Monteagudo, Jose Antonio, Jiménez, Ramón David January 2008 (has links)
Context represents any information regarding the situation of entities, being these a person, place or object that is considered relevant to the interaction between a user and an application. The results obtained permits an user to save context information attached to a picture in a database, as well as retrieve pictures from that database and show it in a web interface with its context information associated. The web interface also allows the user to perform searches by using different criteria, so only the pictures that matches with that criteria will be shown. / Final Degree Project - Thesis

Real-time Full Duplex Communication Over the Web : A performance comparison between different web technologies / Realtidskommunikation i full duplex över webben : En prestandajämförelse mellan olika webbteknologier

Bigestans, Elof January 2014 (has links)
As the web browser becomes an increasingly powerful tool for the average web user, with more features and capabilities being developed constantly, the necessity to determine which features perform better than others in the same area becomes more important. This thesis investigates the performance of three separate technologies used to achieve full-duplex real time communication over the web: short polling using Ajax, server-sent events and the WebSocket protocol. An experiment was conducted measuring the performance over three custom-built web applications (one per technology being tested), comparing latency and number of HTTP requests over 100 messages being sent through the application. Additionally, the latency measurements were made over three separate network conditions. The experiment results suggest the WebSocket protocol outperforms both short polling using Ajax and server-sent events by large margins, varying slightly depending on network conditions.

Datainsamling med Web Usage Mining : Lagringsstrategier för loggning av serverdata / Data Collection with Web Usage Mining : Storage strategies for logging server side data

Karlsson, Sophie January 2014 (has links)
Web applications complexity and the amount of advanced services increases. Logging activities can increase the understanding of users behavior and needs, but is used too much without relevant information. More advanced systems brings increased requirements for performance and logging becomes even more demanding for the systems. There is need of smarter systems, development within the techniques for performance improvements and techniques for data collection. This work will investigate how response times are affected when logging server data, according to the data collection phase in web usage mining, depending on storage strategies. The hypothesis is that logging may degrade response times even further. An experiment was conducted in which four different storage strategies are used to store server data with different table- and database structures, to see which strategy affects the response times least. The experiment proves statistically significant difference between the storage strategies with ANOVA. Storage strategy 4 proves the best effect for the performance average response time compared with storage strategy 2, which proves the most negative effect for the average response time. Future work would be interesting for strengthening the results.

A comparison of web-based technologies to serve images from an Oracle9i database

Swales, Dylan 18 June 2013 (has links)
The nature of Internet and Intranet Web applications has changed from a static content-distribution medium into an interactive, dynamic medium, often used to serve multimedia from back-end object-relational databases to Web-enabled clients. Consequently, developers need to make an informed technological choice for developing software that supports a Web-based application for distributing multimedia over networks. This decision is based on several factors. Among the factors are ease of programming, richness of features, scalability, and performance. The research focuses on these key factors when distributing images from an Oracle9i database using Java Servlets, JSP, ASP, and ASP.NET as the server-side development technologies. Prototype applications are developed and tested within each technology: one for single image serving and the other for multiple image serving. A matrix of recommendations is provided to distinguish which technology, or combination of technologies, provides the best performance and development platform for image serving within the studied envirorunent. / KMBT_363 / Adobe Acrobat 9.54 Paper Capture Plug-in

A framework for cryptography algorithms on mobile devices

Lo, Johnny Li-Chang 19 October 2007 (has links)
Mobile communication devices have become a popular tool for gathering and disseminating information and data. With the evidence of the growth of wireless technology and a need for more flexible, customizable and better-optimised security schemes, it is evident that connection-based security such as HTTPS may not be sufficient. In order to provide sufficient security at the application layer, developers need access to a cryptography package. Such packages are available as third party mobile cryptographic toolkits or are supported natively on the mobile device. Typically mobile cryptographic packages have reduced their number of API methods to keep the package lightweight in size, but consequently making it quite complex to use. As a result developers could easily misuse a method which can weaken the entire security of a system without knowing it. Aside from the complexities in the API, mobile cryptography packages often do not apply sound cryptography within the implementation of the algorithms thus causing vulnerabilities in its utilization and initialization. Although FIPS 140-2 and CAPI suggest guidelines on how cryptographic algorithms should be implemented, they do not define the guidelines for implementing and using cryptography in a mobile environment. In our study, we do not define new cryptographic algorithms, instead, we investigate how sound cryptography can be applied practically in a mobile application environment and developed a framework called Linca (which stands for Logical Integration of Cryptographic Architectures) that can be used as a mobile cryptographic package to demonstrate our findings. The benefit that Linca has is that it hides the complexity of making incorrect cryptographic algorithm decisions, cryptographic algorithm initialization and utilization and key management, while maintaining a small size. Linca also applies sound cryptographic fundamentals internally within the framework, which radiates these benefits outwards at the API. Because Linca is a framework, certain architecture and design patterns are applied internally so that the cryptographic mechanisms and algorithms can be easily maintained. Linca showed better results when evaluated against two mobile cryptography API packages namely Bouncy Castle API and Secure and Trust Service API in terms of security and design. We demonstrate the applicability of Linca on using two realistic examples that cover securing network channels and on-device data. / Dissertation (MSc (Computer Science))--University of Pretoria, 2007. / Computer Science / MSc / unrestricted

This diploma thesis deals with the problem of automatic alerting on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 platform. Thesis was elaborated with Clever Decision s.r.o. company which significantly contributed to thesis assignment. Main goal of this thesis is to provide a solution concept for absence of alerting for multidimensional data in Microsoft's product. Alerting is aimed at critical business data -- Key performance indicators - KPIs. KPIs are used to deliver enhanced business performance through Corporate Performance Management concept. These indicators need to be watched frequently. Considering that alerting solution is convenient for watching the data. Solution concept is based on market research of Business Intelligence (BI) platforms which dominates the market. Platforms are examined for their alerting capabilities. Next goal is to provide overall insight to KPI management -- creating, managing, analyzing and monitoring of KPIs. Thesis is divided into three sections. First part creates theoretical background for solution creation and describes the field of KPI management. Second part consists of market research using selected criteria. Third part is aimed at providing the solution concept through web application fixing the absence of alerting on Microsoft SQL Server 2008 platform. This thesis is primarily intended for Clever Decision company but also for various BI experts dealing with alerting problems on BI platforms. Thesis serves also as a theoretical summary of KPI management which is commonly evaded by available technical literature.
