The main objective of this academic work is the understanding of how the theatrical code operates the catalyzing process of different semiotic languages that interact dialogically to generate the meaning of the dramatic perform. The methodology employed includes the examination of different signs that are responsible for the meaning of the performance, such as: the gestures produced by the actors, the scenery’s objects, the music, the lighting, the costumes and the linguistic signs, among others. Scholars who follow the approach of the Semiotic Study of Cultures, as for instance, Lotman, Machado, Schnaiderman, Bakhtin and Jakobson, will support the analysis. The contributions of Pavis, Fischer-Lichtie, Ubersfeld and Guinsburg, theorists who studied the theatre as a semiotic system, were also essential to the development of this analysis. In this way, this research intends to contribute to the understanding of Vau da Sarapalha as a semiotic text. / Esta pesquisa analisa a maneira como os signos encontram-se estruturados e organizados no espetáculo Vau da Sarapalha, montado pelo Grupo Piollin de Teatro e apresentado durante mais de duas décadas. O objetivo principal do estudo é entender o funcionamento e a interação das diferentes linguagens que formam o espetáculo, bem como a semiose produzida a partir desses encontros dialógicos. A metodologia adotada inclui o exame de vários signos que compõem o espetáculo, tais como: os gestos produzidos pelos atores, os objetos do cenário, a música, a iluminação, o figurino e os signos linguísticos, entre outros. Estudiosos da Semiótica Russa como, por exemplo, Lotman, Machado, Schnaiderman, Bakhtin e Jakobson, fornecerão o suporte teórico à análise. As considerações de Pavis, Fischer-Lichte, Ubersfeld e Guinsburg, teóricos que estudaram o teatro enquanto um sistema semiótico, também foram essenciais para o desenvolvimento dessa análise. Under the bias of semiotic, we understand how comics have changed when transmuting the printed media to digital. We used the concepts of the semiotics of culture, which suggested the dynamics of the characters studied in culture. In this sense, the comics are objects of codes and are manifested as cultural texts, and the operation is taking place in the relationship of these codes. In view of the semiotic concepts, analyze semiosis entertainment systems (comics), occurring through the interaction of the different languages - film, photography, cartoon, painting - and the relationship with the digital system (Internet). Because it is an issue that occurs at the intersection of communication and semiotics, the study takes a transdisciplinary vision and wants to correlate the existing features in both in order to understand the changes generated in the comics in the Internet environment. We start from the assumption that the internet environment is changing the language of comics, thus we analyzed five sites that publish comics, and were selected because they exhibited characteristics to prove our hypothesis. We make an observation script that was completed at the time were held data collection during the period August-September 2011, according to the dates that were posted the comics. Thus, this research is relevant because the main focus is the language of comics produced from contact with other languages of cyberspace, checking the modeling systems in this environment. It is believed that the research will contribute to the role of comic culture. / As Histórias em Quadrinhos (HQs), antigamente vinculadas apenas nos meios impressos hoje estão em blogs, sites específicos gerando um novo produto (webcomics). Sob o viés semiótico, buscamos compreender como as histórias em quadrinhos se modificaram ao se transmutarem do suporte impresso para o digital. Para isso, recorremos aos conceitos proposto pela Semiótica da Cultura, que investiga a dinâmica dos signos na cultura. Nesse sentido, as histórias em quadrinhos tornam-se objetos por serem compostas por códigos e se manifestam como textos culturais, sendo que o seu funcionamento se dá perante a relação de sistemas culturais de alta complexidade. Diante dos conceitos semióticos, analisamos a semiose dos sistemas do entretenimento (histórias em quadrinhos), ocorridas através da interação das diversas linguagens do cinema, fotografia, desenho animado, pintura e a relação com o sistema digital (internet). Por se tratar de um tema que ocorre na intersecção das áreas da comunicação e da semiótica, a pesquisa adota uma visão transdisciplinar e busca correlacionar os aspectos existentes em ambas para compreender a semiose das HQs no ambiente da internet. Partimos da hipótese que este ambiente modifica a linguagem das histórias em quadrinhos, assim, analisamos cinco sites que publicam HQs, sendo que foram escolhidos por apresentarem características que demonstram nossa hipótese. Elaboramos um roteiro de observação que foi preenchido no momento em que foram realizadas as coletas de dados, no período de agosto a setembro de 2011, obedecendo as datas em que foram postadas as HQs. Dessa maneira, a presente pesquisa torna-se relevante uma vez que o foco principal é a linguagem das HQs produzidas a partir do contato com as demais linguagens do ciberespaço, verificando os sistemas modelizantes presentes nesse ambiente. Acredita-se que a pesquisa contribuirá para reforçar o papel das histórias em quadrinhos na cultura.

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo a análise da evolução da semiótica da cultura na obra de estudioso da cultura e literatura, crítico e filósofo russo Iúri Lótman por meio de traduções e dos comentários concernentes aos seus ensaios, escritos em diferentes épocas e dedicados aos principais conceitos da semiótica da cultura, tais como o fenômeno da cultura e os seus processos dinâmicos, o fenômeno da arte, o problema do texto, a memória cultural e a semiosfera. A obra de Lótman enquanto semioticista é inseparável do contexto histórico dos estudos da literatura, linguística, semiótica, cultura tanto na Rússia, quanto no Ocidente. Entre os seus precursores russos estão os escritores e os filósofos do século XIX e, no século XX, os simbolistas, os futuristas e os formalistas. A essência da semiótica da cultura lotmaniana começou a se formar no âmbito da Escola Semiótica de Tártu- Moscou e com a base na tradição dos estudos linguísticos, já nos trabalhos posteriores ela adquiriu um caráter mais filosófico, ao lidar com a imprevisibilidade dos processos culturais universais. Definimos ainda os pontos de coerência entre as ideias de Lótman e a obra dos estruturalistas e pós-estruturalistas franceses, além de Mikhail Bakhtin e Umberto Eco. / The present work aims at analyzing the development of semiotics of culture in the work of Russian culture and literature scholar, critic and philosopher Yuri Lotman through translation and commentary of his essays, written at different periods and dedicated to the core concepts of semiotics of culture, such as culture phenomenon and its dynamic processes, the phenomenon of art, the problem of the text, the cultural memory and semiosphere. Lotman`s work as a semiotician is inseparable from the historical context of the literature, linguistics, semiotics and culture studies both in Russia and the West. Among his precursors are Russian writers and philosophers of the nineteenth and twentiethcentury, the symbolists, futurists and formalists. The essence of Lotman`s semiotics of culture began to form in the Tartu-Moscow Semiotic School on the basis of language studies tradition, though in later works he developed a more philosophical approach, dealing with the unpredictability of universal cultural processes. Further, we point out the connection between Lotman\'s ideas and work of French structuralists and poststructuralists, Mikhail Bakhtin and Umberto Eco.
